*OLD SCHOOL BOOST* MK3 FIESTA RS TURBO REVIEW *THE OG BOY RACER WEAPON*

  • The 90’s were a golden age for hot hatches and I’m driving one of the hottest.
A boy racers wet dream back then was owning one of these. Notoriously expensive to insure due to being so “popular” to steal and joyride.
Now rising in value is this the year for you to buy a Fiesta RS Turbo?
The car I review today is relatively stock aside from a T3 turbo and LSD gearbox from an Escort RST. ECU has been tweaked to run correctly with the different turbo.
Car is currently for sale. Offers around 11k will buy the car please contact (david_burr88_) on his Instagram for more information on the car. Thank you so much Dave for letting me take your immaculate car out. You wouldn’t believe it’s 30 years old. Really enjoyed it on the channel!

That lag must be due to the bigger turbo! My "standard" Fiesta RS Turbo had very little lag.....loads of torque steer though!

  • @raptortestsandsuch

My first car was a Mk3 Fiesta (not RS, nor XR2i, obviously) and it was so much fun. No power steering, no ABS, no nothing - fun as hell. This thing is another level, of course. I'd kill to have one to play with now, money just doesn't permit.

Seen a fair few fiesta turbos and 2i,s on bricks on my way to school. Them was the days police chases every night. One of the older lads crashed in to a house in a RS1800 fun times 😂 great vid as always pal 👍

That turbo sounds gnarly! The song goes so well with the look of the car. Makes me want to drive while listening to some old school jams, while I hit boost, driving at midnight. Too bad we don't have these in the states.

Great Video! Bought back lots of old memories too! You can't beat an old car for feedback and involvement, i know what you mean about them being easy to break into, you didn't even need a tool for it the scallies just yanked the door panel back from the window and pulled the plastic latch, i saw two in the pub carpark like that once on the same night.

@@CJK20 Absolutely! I bet we all wish we had held onto some of our old cars now, could have made a penny. I remember looking through the trader seeing Mini's, 205 XS Gti's, Renault 5' turbos, capri's all going for a grand or two, these days they are 10 grand cars. Time flies!

These cars if you are my age will never be replicated, these cars are how you learnt to drive, none of the modern features of new cars. Four wheels a seat an engine and a steering wheel. A heavy right foot and loads of ball's, forget the middle pedal it never worked. Personally I thought the 205 gti was the best of the bunch, I was lucky enough to own one, but only a 1.6 and not the 1.9, it handled like a go-cart, it's impossible to have as much fun in modern car's, they have no spirit and are all bland and mundane, too many assists and driver aids. Long live the 90,s.

I bought mine from Ford main dealer Ruislip UK, mine was also in red and was registered on August the 1st 1991 on a J plate (J46KLY) and this was eventually stolen from right outside the front of my house sometime in the early hours. I never heard a thing 😞.
Looking back now I was crazy to purchase it as it really was a piece of crap and very over-rated.
Moved to a Peugeot 205GTI 1.9 for a while then on to a 4 x 4 sapphire cosworth in gray with black leather. Played around with a Vauxhall calibra for a while too then on to a Rover 800 vitesse saloon 4 door.
Ended up with a Porsche 911, 3.0 targa with a turbo body.

Ford chopped the rad down to fit the intercooler in 🤭. Had no turbo lag though little T2 spun up straight away. I went in a mate of mines 1900cc tall block cvh engined one and wow it was even better. Thanks Tom. So this was 11k with 70k miles which for 30 year old car I’d call low mileage lol.
BUT to get top dollar ie 15-18k for these need to be totally original. Air box, the T2 turbo stock box everything. Mods actually lower this cars value regardless of bodywork being mint

I had one of these in around 1996. I'm pretty sure it was 'chipped' as it pulled really hard. It was a lot faster than my Dad's Escort RS Turbo. I run a Suzuki Swift Sport today. Still haven't grown up. I also had a 205 GTI and 1990 Mini Cooper with the 1275. For a new car the Swift gets really close to the spirit of those old school hatches.
