    Answers to your questions!
    1. Bangla / Bengali (the Anglicised name for Bangla) = language spoken both in Bangladesh (country) and West Bengal (Indian state), both together comprised the region of Bengal which was divided by the British on the basis of religion but the people from both places are mostly of the same ethnicity (Bengalis). The border between Bangladesh and West Bengal is extremely porous and many of us have family/ancestral homes across the border on the other side till this date. Indian subcontinent has complicated history (largely thanks to the Brits who completely messed the whole region up!) and many diverse communities in terms of ethnicities, language, culture, religion, etc, so can be confusing for outsiders not familiar with the region's history.
    2. The instrument at 6:56 that looks like Sitar with a bow is called Esraj, a local instrument. Bansuri is flute. Shanai (in Bangla)/Shehnai (in Hindi/Urdu) you have already looked up :)
    3. Chiltey Roud is a fusion of two songs, both basically expressing the same emotion - yearning for a loved one - but first one (Chilte Roud) is a contemporary song depicting how urban modern Bangladeshi societies express themselves (more subtle or layered expressions) while the second song is an old traditional folk song from Northern region of Bangladesh depicting how rural people from the villages express themselves (more straightforward, jarring, cuts straight through).
    4. Arnob (the first singer in Chilte Roud) is also the main man and music producer behind Coke Studio Bangla, so you will see him (and the house band including Mithun Chakra) in most of the Coke Studio Bangla songs. He is an absolute genius so please listen to his own music too if you can! His music is sure to soothe your soul! Both Bengals (Bangladesh and West Bengal) adore him and now thanks to Coke Studio, the world is getting to discover him too. He also produced and composed the music for Bhober Pagol. Also, the very first time you reacted to Coke Studio Bangla (Ekla Cholo), AGES AGO!, you loved his soft melodious voice when the second verse started (with the words jodi keo kotha na koy) and had asked who he was! :D
    5. Nesha Lagilo Re: Bengal is culturally very rich so there is a long history of bards, minstrels, philosophers, poets, preachers etc. including Nobel Laureate Tagore and philisopher poet Fakir Lalon Shah. Hason Raja is one such legendary poet and Nesha Lagilo Re is one of his most famous songs. You will find all platforms and many of our contemporary artists and bands covering, fusing or influenced by many of these old poets and traditional forms of music as they are still very much revered. IPDC is more traditional and theatrical style of production (local form of theatre i.e.). Their presentations will give you an idea of the traditional taste in arts and culture of our gen pop while Coke Studio and Wind of Change are more experimental presentations. We also have a very solid and established rock/band music industry (to name just a few, Warfaze, Artcell, Nagorbaul, LRB, Miles, Aurthohin, Nemesis... definitely deserves a separate podcast!). Bangladesh is made up of rivers, vast agricultural lands and a few mad crowded, bustling bursting at the seams cities, you will find influence of all these elements (but esp nature and rivers) in all our music and imagery used in our lyrics. We are also very political and that is also present in a lot of our music (our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam is referred to as the Rebel poet for his revolutionary songs, some of which were used to inspire and motivate our people and soldiers during our Liberation War against Pakistan).
    6. Hiphop in Bangladesh has remained more of an underground genre, unable yet to break into the mainstream but the artists who have managed to break out over the last 2 decades have a very solid and strong fanbase (though mostly only young urban Bangladeshis, while the more traditional genres are enjoyed by both Bangladeshi and West Bengali audiences). So much kudos to Coke Studio for bringing Jalali Set to such a huge platform and giving them exposure to the masses! But it's popping now alright! :D
    7. Yes the music for Bhober Pagol (what a beast of a song!) was composed and arranged by Arnob and the musicians specifically for this track.
    8. Instrument at 55:45 that is played like a guitar is called Sarod, usually played in classical music of Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.
    9. Bulbuli is nightingale bird :) In the male verses of the song sung by Ritu Raj, the poet (Kazi Nazrul Islam) is requesting the nightingale to be still as the garden is still in deep slumber despite Spring nearly at its door while also lamenting why it hasn't woken up yet and wondering when the flower fairy/princess will finally reveal herself, so the female part by Nandita is like the flower fairy is responding as though she has just been stirred awake as Spring is here (so her airy, light, flittering tone of voice is meant to depict that I think). The tune for the second part/female verse has also been composed by Arnob who is the main composer/musical director for the whole Coke Studio Bangla series as mentioned above, though the musical director for this particular track is Shuvo (whom you saw playing the mandolin in Nasek Nasek and classical/Spanish guitar in this track).

The language spoken in Bangladesh is Bengali, and Bengali is spoken in Indian state of West Bengal as well. Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, many famous singers belong from this state. @@FarhanHasan007 England does not have more English accuracy than Great Britain just bcz they have English(Eng) in their name. Lol. No offence, but Bangladeshis(like an average person) pronounce some words differently even in the shuddho bhasha. Example: ছ is pronounced as a "S" sound even tho it should be "Chh". করতেছে is used instead of করছে etc. Not to mention how much Urdu- Bangladeshis have incorporated into their language.

    • @FarhanHasan007

@@s.majumdar9388 Mate, Bangladesh is quite diverse with its local accent. Do you have an evidence to show the motherland of Bangla origin? There are lot of things to argue. And, it's really awkward to judge স with ছ। I can pinpoint a lot of pronunciation errors from West Bangla, Assam, Tripura and rest of the Bangla speaking areas. But, in reality there is nothing wrong with that. It's the people who has changed the way of speaking over time. There again, we got two classification of Bangla language. সাধু ভাষা এবং চলিত ভাষা, In Bangladesh people prefer to use more casual way of speaking, but in terms of writing it’s more formal. Absolutely depends on person and the background. No offence, don't be so judgemental.

Bengali or Bangla is the language.
Bengalis are the ethnic demography that speaks Bengali with 110million speakers in India & 170million speakers in Bangladesh.
Bangladeshi is a nationality (like Indian). So not all Bengalis are not Bangladeshis and not all Bangladeshis are Bengalis (u must remember this)
As u know just like rest of India, Bengal was too partitioned in two on the basis of religion. The muslim majority part became independent country while the Hindu majority region became a federal state in India called West Bengal.

I was waiting for you to react to Chiltey Roud!!!! That performance takes you places and if you saw the bts of that performance you'd see that ALL the artists talking about how emotional they became because of Boga's singing. They said they kept getting distracted by his emotions and couldn't focus on playing their own instruments. Arnob is also a genius bc he produced this performance as well as most if not all the Coke Studio Bangla performances so far! Bangla is such a beautiful language and artists from Bangladesh are so underrated especially since our folk music and instruments are unmatched. Our music comes from the soul and unites the entire country.

Other Bangladeshi/Bengali songs for you to discover in the future:
    From 'Coke Studio':
    - Shob Lokey Koy ( th-cam.com/video/L-arhlgPiy8/w-d-xo.html )
    - Moner Manush ( th-cam.com/video/o5iNbmDbViA/w-d-xo.html ) [This one is from 'Coke Studio India' but is still a Bengali song. Unfortunately this one has no CC]
You can check out some Bangladeshi/Bengali songs from films:
    - Jao Pakhi Bolo Tare ( th-cam.com/video/78coD49Cd8g/w-d-xo.html ) [This is the most famous version]
    - Orey Neel Doriya ( th-cam.com/video/Pcl2KKJcBus/w-d-xo.html ) [This version is sung by an Indian-Assamese singer called Papon on a Bangladeshi music show]
    - Takey Olpo Kachey Takley ( th-cam.com/video/Nly8TUAGyYI/w-d-xo.html ) [The song is sung by a Bangladeshi singer for an Indian-Bengali film]
    - Jontrona ( th-cam.com/video/9NwAD2Dje1s/w-d-xo.html ) [It's a song that isn't what you would usually hear in the Bangladeshi music scene but nonetheless an amazing song]
    - Tapur Tupur ( th-cam.com/video/LTsxOzNdbRQ/w-d-xo.html ) [An Indian- Bengali song]
You can also check out Nish a Bangladeshi-UK singer and Muza a Bangladeshi-American singer/producer who makes more urban type of songs:
    - Maney Na ( th-cam.com/video/gUfbntspi40/w-d-xo.html )
    - Homecoming ( th-cam.com/video/Bae4ZWU8o84/w-d-xo.html )
    - Bangla Medley🇧🇩 ( th-cam.com/video/dzICcFxN4HU/w-d-xo.html ) [It's a medley of some iconic Bangladeshi folk songs]
    - Bhromor Koyio Gia ( th-cam.com/video/W9PZx55dayw/w-d-xo.html ) [This is a modern cover of a traditional folk song]
Just so you know many of the traditional songs are Baul based, a genre of music from Bengal. Although I didn't recommend some "sub-genres", I hope you slowly discover Rabindra Sangeet (Rabindranath Tagore songs), Lalon Geeti (Lalon Shah/ Lalon Fakir songs) & Nuzrul Geeti (Kazi Nuzrul Islam songs), they are icons for us Bengalis and have a huge impact on our traditional music.
Also some information about Bengal. It's a region from where Bengali's (an ethno-linguistic group) are from but it is not the only ethnic group, maybe the majority but not the only. Bengal is divided into two, West Bengal (which is a state in India) & East Bengal aka Bangladesh, we call our language Bangla but there are many dialects of Bangla as well as other languages spoken in Bengal. West Bengal is a Hindu majority state whilst Bangladesh is a Muslim majority state, so that would be the biggest cause to some of our differences in lifestyles otherwise we all belong to one ethnic group and are pretty much the same. If you want to talk about Bangladesh specifically the correct terminology would be 'Bangladeshi' whilst 'Bengali' can refer to things from both West Bengal & Bangladesh (East Bengal).

Maybe the reason you've found Spanish vibe from "Bulbuli" is because it's a Ghazal. And while evolving throughout the centuries, Ghazal was influenced by Spanish culture among others (correct me if I'm wrong).

55:50 its called - Sarod.... A brilliant classical music instrument... My favourite.... 90% times used in classical music setup...Ustad Amjad ali khan was a very famous sarod player.... U guys can watch/listen to one of his youtube vidoes....
And one more thing, i think that instrument efra is calling as - bansoori is actually called - sarangi/esraaj...its also a marvelous sounding instruments..bansoori is actually hindi name of long or short bamboo flutes....
At 57:48 its called santoor.... Another classical instrument of indian subcontinent.... Recently deceased pandit shivkumar sharma was a santoor maestro....u should react to one of his videos as well....
And that papon's song was kind of a ghazal styled composition with moderon alt-rockish rhythm setups....ghazal is a semi classical genre music, sung about love, pains in a specific poetic style... The lyrics of ghazals are called 'sher' or 'shaayeri' and the lyricists are known as 'shaayer'

    Hello,
    16:18
the Time signature is 7/8. This rhythm is called Tewra. It has 7 beats in it like this:- 123 | 45 |67 .
In this composition, sometime, they break it like this--
    7 beats * 4 circles = 28 beats.
    123456 123456 123456 123456 1234.
Now count this at double speed. and you'll understand how they made it sound triplet.
    49:23
That instrument is called Esraj. It has a fretboard like sitar with 15 sympathetic strings, but is is played with a bow.
The North Indian flute (Transverse Flute) is called Bansuri.

The Bulbuli song was written and composed by our national poet "Kazi Nazrul Islam". He fought in the 2nd world war and was posted in the middle east. That era had a big influence on his compositions. After returning from the war, he composed some music influenced by Arabic and north African music. Don't know exactly how he was influenced by Spanish music, but sure he was. Though he mostly composed music based on Indian Ragas, he surely did some experiment.

Flamenco music and other Latin music vibes were created by people of Romani Ethnicity in Europe, who were actually genetically and culturally same/descendants of Aryavarthan (aka Indian) people.
hence, Latin music is 2nd nature, and mixes easily with music of Indian Subcontinent (ie. From Iran to all the way to SE Asia).

before 1947 Bangladesh, India and Pakistan was together and we share lots of cultural, religious and historical stuff.
in 1947 before British leave the continent they divided the the land in two country india and pakistan (east pakistan & west pakistan), eventually in 1971 east pakistan gained independence and became Bangladesh.
im not here to give any history lesson, said these stuff to make you understand why our style of music and film feels same.
#important fact:- the fast conflict between east pakistan and west pakistan took place in 1952, and reason was Bangla, yes love for a #language(bangla) made people come to road, shed blood and fight to gain right to speak and use our mother tongue Bangla
thats how important Bangla is to us.
