Tbf, I agreed, though it was mostly because the killer leaves Carrie alone for no explicit reason, and Carrie mentions Jeanie being her best friend.

@@buttsagonton101none of the teenagers were there the night George died. Marie went after them because she heard the prank on the radio and got upset that more teens were terrorizing innocent people like George and herself. She spared Carrie because she saw herself in her.
Kudos to Dan for accidentally choosing the WORST (best) scream possible at the beginning of the game, considering what's revealed later.
The “drowning” option would’ve been pretty apt, too

People watching the TH-cam video will NOT understand how long it took Dan to figure out Chuck was at the gas station. He read the first half of Chuck's fundraiser poster like half a dozen times, each time reading the first sentence, putting it down and saying "we need to figure out who won the lottery" before cycling back through every other clue on the board

I mean, it's not hard to get the good ending (in my opinion). I think you need to kill EVERYONE for the worst ending, and I actually had some trouble with that (always managed to save at least one person).

honestly this game is such a wild game, I really didn't expect there to be such variety within the phone calls, or that the player character would be fully voiced all the way through, even when it's just his internal monologue, just like you won't believe the deals on PONTY'S PIZZA!!!!

I love that Dan's "evidence" for Jeanie being the killer is that the intern that works at the notably horror-themed Scream FM... likes horror movies
Fun fact: The opening cutscene where someone gets murdered by the whistling man is Clive getting killed right before the game starts.
Edit: Someone brought up that the ending credits imply that Clive survived after the game ended, which some of the evidence for is pretty convincing. The opening cutscene also makes sense to be Clive though, so perhaps he got attacked but survived the encounter? It's tough to say for sure!

It makes sense if you think about it, 1) he’s the only person tied to the cover up we don’t hear from (because he’s the first victim as he had the biggest hand in it) 2) he’s the janitor and is taking out the trash for the radio station, hence why he’s in the alley behind the place
According to the wiki/fandom, the first guy dead before the game start was not Clive. The last part of the video at 1:23:16 is of Clive's POV hiding in a hotel while listening to the radio to keep up with the situation. Check out the wiki page for more detailed explanation.
@@ZexzenNova it says that which makes sense but also doesn’t. The killer doesn’t kill random people, and everyone who is alive that night and had a hand in the coverup calls you. You can see they don’t actively kill innocents with Cassie and (kinda) Murphy. Like what serial killer gets attacked so they put them in a trash bin instead of killing them. Which means that the man in the first had to of worked at the radio station and also cover upped the death. And the board doesn’t make sense either if it’s real. Like why would he have Polaroids of any of them, especially ALL of Carrie’s friends
I think the person at the beginning may be the sheriff since the policewoman at the start of the game says she found the sheriff dead
Dan maybe hadn't played the game perfectly, but the timing on the sfx were phenomenal.
im actually so grateful for the wii sports music, i love horror but get umcomfortable and paranoid so easily. cheery music does fix that a lot more than id have expected !!
Reminds me of that post by someone with paranoia who gets afraid they are in a horror movie, so they play the soundtrack to the Muppets movies because "they wouldn't use the Muppets movie soundtrack in a horror movie, it's owned by Disney and copyrighted, they'd get sued" and it works for them

Does this game remind anyone else of Firewatch? Two faceless people, solving a mystery over a call? It's a similar premise tbh, and has the same vibes. In a good way! I like this game.
Both take place in the 1980’s, plots focus on the mysterious disappearance/death of a kid….. they’re almost cousins haha. Spiritual successors I would say!
Not wrong. If you want a middle ground between the two, there's also Do You Copy? where a park ranger answers the call of a panicking hiker and tries to guide him to safety.
I obviously can't say for sure if KF was inspired by DYC, or if DYC was inspired by Firewatch. But it sure feels like it, and it's a fun chain of games to play. All very unique spins on isolation and mystery!

This game has got to be an homage to the movie "Pontypool". It's basically the same premise, but with zombies! It's a really good movie.
It’s a love letter to horror in general. Characters with names like Carrie, Jason, all of the achievements you get for saving people being references to horror movies (like ‘children of the corn maze’), the street names, the tropes within the game itself, the campy style where everyone seems a little too calm for what’s happening, everything.
Love this concept and went and checked out the movie because of this comment specifically, and gotta say I kinda loved it, so thanks a bunch
I was looking for this comment! The Ponty's pizza has to be a reference to that (not to mention the whole radio thing). But yeah, a lot of horror references in general.
Peggy sounded oddly familiar to me at times, and I just realized that her voice is pretty similar to the voice of Amy from Game Theory. It's not her, Peggy's VA is a woman named Naomi McDonald apparently, but the similarity is rather eerie at times!
A couple of months ago I saw this game and thought, man, this would be an entertaining game for RTs playstyle, and well, here we are.
This was surprisingly so good, it started out hokey and turned out really suspenseful. It took itself just seriously enough for me to be invested but also being a lot of fun. *slow clap*

This game and Firewatch are almost like… cousins. They’re so similar yet different. Both great in their own right.

This game reminds me of a show on Netflix called The Kirlian Frequency. It's like a mix of this and Welcome to Nightvale.
