I really enjoyed your video. I've only seen one other person thread the fabric back through the loop and that was Aunt Philly. I think the loops are prettier that way!! Thank you for the video and I learned a lot of great information. Cindy Smith...grandmother...Central Florida...USA.
Id love to see how you start your oval and round Amish Rugs!!!! ..Ive made many over the years and some look like yours..with tighter knots .I tend to fold my fabric so they lay perfect. so the back is as close to the front as possible,,so theyre totally reversible I also use 3 and 4 inch strips so theyre heavier.....My 4 inch strips in the color Ive started this latest rug with, was thinner sheet yarn so I did it looser..with a wide core strip as well to compesate for heavier fabric of what I want the next color to be ..My 3 centre rows dont look like yours! They arent as tight! Is it because Im folding my fabric? and its loose? Your centre rows look perfect.. Ive never tried just pulling 4 incn strips thru like you are.....What size are your strips?? I have watched all the ladies youve mentioned ... Im finding most videos are on crocheting these now...but I dont crochet and was told they can unravel too easy....... I hate the chair step and have been ending each color , so will be definately trying your way! Please make more videos and show more of your rugs! THANK YOU so much for making this video
I'm glad you like my video! I haven't been rugging much during this pandemic, my focus has been on making masks and other things. It sounds like you have more experience than I do. Have you looked at Barrie Jayne Makes videos? She does Amish knot, and her lovely British accent is a treat! Her rugs look different than mine, but I like them. They're more "lacy".
Oh this is brilliant! Thanks for sharing!
Your stitch is really lovely as well!
TY very much - extremely good, clear instructions... please do more!!
Your rugs are lovely and I appreciate you sharing how to do this.😊💖
