"My creativity has value." YES! Thank you for this. 😊 Our society constantly tries to tell us what "success" is for an artist, and I think that's why we feel like we have to meet some impossible standard to prove the value of our art. I'm so appreciative of people (like you!) in the songwriter community who make this vulnerable thing feel safe.
You’re fabulous! Thanks so much for this - and I totally relate to everything you’re saying. And I echo what you said about being grateful for developing community & connections with other artists on the path
Know all of these feelings all too well! :) Have been noodling with a song about my own struggle with this, hehe. It’s been a recurring theme my whole life. Great topic!!
I totally get it! Glad you found this helpful - I’d love to chat anytime, and hear the song you’re working on (when you’re ready to share!) Great to hear from you here!
Sometimes I deal with imposter syndrome by reminding my self it is music not heart surgery. Mistakes are human and don't lead to major consequences (unless gatekeepers are around) 😆 - Eric 🥁
Thanks so much for this, Eric! It’s such a good reminder to keep things in perspective. Sometimes we value music as “too risky” but then other things we don’t mind trying/failing upwards 😆

This is great advice!
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing your ideas on this topic. Thought-provoking!
Thank you so much - it’s these conversations that inspire me to keep doing the work & taking risks with people who “get it”
To thyself be kind. Good talk, Darrel.
Thanks so much, Bill! I’ll keep your song in my head as a mantra “to thyself be kind” 👏🏼✨
Puts up hand! Great topic. 😀
Thanks so much, Karen! I put my own hand up for this one, too! 😂
