The Last Fishing Village in Singapore - 4K UHD 60FPS Quick Tour

- Located at the mangrove area between Yishun Ave 1 (or commonly known as Yishun dam) and Pulau Punggol Barat, Seletar Fishing Village is probably one of the last places in Singapore where you can find local fishermen making a living by the sea.
One of the fishing spots at Seletar fishing village is named by one of the Malay fishermen as Jenal Jetty, which becomes more famous than its original name.
The conditions of the fishing village may not be ideal for a city dweller though. The wooden boardwalks, and some huts, are built on stilts on the swampy lands infested by mosquitoes and filled with garbage and animal carcasses.

Most places along the Singapore coast used to look like this village. Founded by the indigenous Malays they were quiet, peaceful areas that survived on just fishing for a living. Today's sanitised, well groomed, well administered, wealthy Singapore has lost its Soul. Urbanisation has destroyed all the links of its people to its soil, sea and forests.

Maybe the law has changed. But what I do know is that all of you are/were trespassing. Not at jenal jetty but on state land. I've seen dozen of arrests here of ppl fishing and cast netting. Usually it happens when the coast guard spots some activities there and report it to the land authority.
