I seen him play in a country/rock band, but he wouldn't tell anyone his name. He was getting standing ovations one right after the other. It was amazing.
Was fortunate to see Pat play on three occasions, one of then was at this club. First time I saw him was at the Cape May festival and I was absolutely blown away. Another time was at a Jazz Bridge benefit at a small community center in Collingswood, NJ. All great performances.
A lot of people don't know this but that was actually me in disguise as Pat Martino. Pat couldn't make the gig because something came up and he ask me to sit in.
Pat actually etched standards into the book of standards. He is one of the select few. He is one of the who belongs with the others such as Barney Kessel.
From times to times, I still cry his death, thanks for everything that you did to music, pat will always be one of a kind, and one in a billion

Saw this old timer shredding like nobody’s business, then I realized I had the playback speed set to 1.5x
PAT WAS VERY SUNNY TODAY !!!
Wow he's good
😀💚
That's how you do it.
Impressive enough, but when you factor in that he had to relearn everything after a brain aneurysm...unbelievable!

There is a special place in hell for drunk whistlers.
Better THAN Many OTHERS so called virtuoso But NEVER Made it to The Top.
Who's the slack-jaw giving this a thumbs down?
I think the slack jaw is deaf.
monster
パットマルティーノにしては、分かり易いアドリブですね
The way he treats harmonic theory is more like geometry. very complex
But here he is playing nothing more than basic blues lines. Why bother.
Drummer better with sticks...
If this is something you people like maybe he is the best; but not in my opinion:)
Stiff, not fluid and off rhythmically. Not very melodic to my ears. Never got him or his playing. Way overated.
Pat is literally the guitarist who flows the best, who best connects line after line... For me he is even underrated
@@LarfeLL23 Very, very stiff to my ears.
Outstanding guitarist!
Legend
RIP Pat!
