- Jodie Comer is an Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor who you may know as the assassin Villanelle on the show “Killing Eve.” Though she’s been acting since childhood, Jodie treats every role with the intense work ethic of someone who’s still gunning for their big break. In her new film, “The Bikeriders,” she stars opposite Austin Butler, Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon as a woman who married into a biker gang. The film was inspired by an actual Midwestern motorcycle club that started in the ‘60s. Jodie joins Tom to talk about the film, learning a new accent for the project, and the incredible work ethic that’s gotten her this far in her acting career.

This lady is beyond amazing. True class and talent.
Jodie's eyes..... 😍
It's her smile for me. Swear I wish I had a smile like that
Jodie Comer, best talent on this planet.
Just saw the film with wife and daughter at a classy venue in Montclair NJ called the Clairidge . Very small crowd in one of their 6-8 theaters. I did not know until after the movie who it was who played Kathy, but this actress captivated me from literally the FIRST FEW SECONDS she appeared on the screen. I could not take my eyes off her and got thoroughly engrossed in her extraordinary aliveness in every moment and her immersion in her character. I was blown away. When it was over I turned to wife and especially daughter (who acts) and said point blank "THAT was a master class in acting! You will never see a performance by an actress better than the one you just saw! " I meant it and still mean it. The Chicago accent ( we were all originally from Chicago) was all the more remarkable considering as I later found out , she was British, from Liverpool. Watch among other things the play of emotion across her face, her self-amused introspection, her astonishing presentness in every moment. THIS was acting to marvel at. I would see it again, and key in to her to the exclusion of everything and everyone else. I am still stunned to see how this affected me!
@@williamcervetti1455 Again, Jodie Comer is a class act all by herself, Its easy to fall in love with her! If you really want to see what she can do then I suggest you and your family watch Killing Eve AMC+ (4 seasons) with her and Sandra Oh as the leads. Also the White princess (Starz) The last duel, Free Guy and The end we start from. Then you will understand that she's the master of accents. Best talent on the planet!
@@williamcervetti1455 wow what a nice comment about Jodie Comer, she really is something, is it your first time watching her?? I recommend her play Prima Facie and the last duel movie, I think she is one of the greatest actress of her generation but she is so underrated.
@@williamcervetti1455 and to think some thought that her accent was annoying :(
She is so kind, articulate, interesting and fun to listen to. I think she is the best actor on the planet these days. So committed to every role she plays. I loved her in Killing Eve and The Bikeriders. I can't wait to see her in Prima Facie on September 12, 2024 and in 28 Years Later whenever that comes out. I have to find everything she has done before Killing Eve.
@@christinatarnopolsky8572 I recommend the last duel, doctor foster, my mad fat diary, white princess, thirteen, if you want Prima Facie I can send you a link…. she really is a great actress…
I'm loving watching Jodie's interview❤❤
I love this interview. Love Jodie ❤
Really nice interview, I like what I have seen of her work, and I am also a big Tom Power fan. Nice interaction. Congenial and respectful
The Scouser on Broadway... LOVE IT!
She is so talented and beautiful. Just about to finish up Killing Eve. I hope her and Sandra Oh at least got emmy noms for that show. I want to see the Bikeriders. Talk about an all star cast.
good luck on finishing KE
She won an Emmy for season 2.
The Bikeriders is amazing. The three main actors: Jodie, Austin and Tom are terrific.
I loved this interview!!! Good questions and amazing answers, i've seen a lot of interviews and they seem a little bit repetitive but not with this one 🙌
She's amazing! From a fellow Scouser 😊
She is so pretty ❤ great interview though.
Great storytellers, really are entertaining, mostly because they can steer far from fact and reality and make it exciting. She plays a great role, but mostly we know she added a lot of her own details and perspective to what was really just some big boys getting drunk and beating each other up.
Love her
I have a crush on Jodie! 😊
Join the club... no, seriously. Many of us adore her and she is so crushworthy!
Lol long line on that
OMG she is so *HOT*
This girl is fine as hell
❤❤❤😍🥰🥰
I loved the accent
But I want to
Know if that was dialect at the time.
There's audio of the real person who Jodie portrayed. The accent work is spot on. The real Kathy and Jodie's version are incredibly similar.
Saw The Bikeriders...
Was it good?
@Airbender1802 Much of it yes. Tom Hardy is almost too good, makes us aware that others are not up to the same standard. And not that they need to bring what he does, but just to make what they do rise to the A+ we get from Hardy.
I question the decision to put Jodies' Kathy at the center of the story telling. Her execution of Kathy's accent was excellent, but it's a distracting accent in itself, which makes sense from the tapes as Kathy knew she was being recorded, and so was in a self consciousness story telling mode. But doesn't necessarily work in the context of the movie.
@@conork325 I was actually really impressed by Hardy. When I saw the trailer I thought "oh no Hardy doing an accent again, this is going to be ridiculous" but actually he was great.
Heh Gin in a Tin 🌞How's things going with you? 🌙🌚Fancy hanging out in the countryside..or something with Sherlock Holmes? If you've got the time:) Love Chris xxx ⏲
Why did your mother abandon you at my house anyway ?
