Great video especially including checking end gap. The only thing I would suggest is doing that at the bottom of the cylinder/jug not at the top. Putting the rings in at the top can make some micro scratches that can allow compression to slip by. Keep up the good work!
I have one for you. 96 500. Cranks fine but bogs down after 1/4 throttle in neutral and fwd but runs great in reverse. I have check everything TH-cam has said and nothing.
Is yours a 350 or 400? There is a plug in front of motor right next to waterpump. There are 2 small drain plugs under engine. It looks like a small 10 mm bolt. One drains gas from block. The one under CB is the one you want.

Press the over ride button in forward. It could be a bad run stop kill switch or possible cdi. But clean the carb first.
Will incorrect piston ring end gap cause oil not to reach the camshaft and rocker arms ?
This is a two stroke there are no rocker arms or camshaft 🤣
