That is incredible! I remember our family friends had one in blue, it was 1979 and I was 4 and I still to this day remember being fascinated by the wheels and the Ford logo on the centre.
Stunning...I owned a 1300XL for 16 years, very similar interior so this video brings back good memories. Hard to understand how a car can be stored anywhere for so long and remain in such good condition. And they were never, surely, painted body colour underneath like that so I'm guessing it's had some form of mild restoration. Makes you wonder what else is still out there waiting to be found again.
Brings back some fond memories of my mate driving his purple coloured one to the pub many a time in the eighties! It was unfortunately pushed into a brick wall by a young lad who had got into his dad's car and released the handbrake. It ended up a foot shorter! He got it beautifully restored though. I think he sold it a short while after that. Had a gold MK1 3 litre Capri Ghia stashed in his garage as well!
I dont know where you find these fantastic cars but they are a joy to watch and a credit to there owners! I had the rare invitation to fords heritage center at Dagenham the other day and the cars there were no way as good as yours, although they were good.
To think of the lovely little purple escort that I trashed driving it around a field back in the day when I was a youngster. Can also add Open Kadett B, Fiats 124, 127 & 131, Mk 2 & 3 Cortinas to that list.
Amazing! It’s hard to believe but this car was around when Bob Marley, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby, and Charlie Chaplin were all still alive and well… When this car was registered in August 1973, Gary Glitter was No.1 with “Leader of the gang”, Ted Heath was Prime Minister, Richard Nixon was President, George Foreman was Heaveyweight champion of the world and Jackie Stewart was F1 world champion for Tyrrell-Ford.
Lovely.l learned to drive in a Mk1 Escort Sport (now they are rare!).My first car was a Mk1 1100L.Then on to a Ford Escort RS Mexico.lnto rallying a lot in those halcyon days😎👍❤!
Still a great looking car. I had one exactly the same colour back in the 80's, it was in fantastic condition too , though it wasn't as built as a previous owner had converted it to round headlights and fitted quarter bumpers at the front. I Replaced it with an MG Maestro 2 litre Efi. Now if only I'd have had somewhere to store that 1300E.......
It's doomed to a life in a heated garage now and will be stored away as a future investment. A shame as a car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. But that's just my opinion.
Prices are just eye-watering now! My first car was a Mk1- OGP 818L a 2 door 1300XL automatic in sapphire metallic blue with 42,000 on the clock. It was an immaculate 1-owner car and I paid £450 for it. It's a nice car - but it's still a Ford Escort. 35 grand?! That's more than 35 times what it cost new! 10 yrs time - the price of a house?
The only thing I spotted that was missing was the accelerator pedal rubber. A lovely example. I cringed when the doors an bonnet got absolutely slammed shut 😳
My first car at 17 was a 1968 mk1 with square headlights , my old man bought it for me and it was £50😃(we towed it home)🤣 I can still remember the ref number, XLR 503G I checked to see if it was still on road the other week, it isn’t (long shot🤪)
Just off the top of my head.......Have you got a Morris Marina Coupe in white or a Triumph Dolomite Sprint in yellow with black roof? What about a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus 2.2 Twincam or Ford Fiesta Super Sport? How about the Escort beater, the Vauxhall Chevette HS 2.2 16 valve Twin Cam? Now ya talking!
A stunner that would have to be kept in a central heated and dehumidfied garage to keep it in that condition surely, as fords of that era just dont last like that .
So simple the mk 1 escort 1300 e I'd have this any day over any modern plastic ECU car ...... a beautiful example of a fine Ford escort of its period 👍🙂😎
Sooo glad you don't go anywhere near my car , doors are meant to be closed NOT Slammed , same goes for Bonnet 😪😪😪 , if that's how you treat vehicles , won't be a customer
This is what's missing from modern cars... basic simplicity without all the gadgets and gimmicks
Simple cars but a lot of fun!
Missing is sometimes more. 👍
@@KGFClassicCars yes indeed this was what motoring was about in these day's
It's just everything about this car, vinyl roof, the colour and those stock wheels one of the best you've had I reckon fellas
Amazing car!
My God I'm absolutely speechless what a stunner this could easily be the holy grail of mrk 1Escorts.
You know they have a time machine, don’t you?
@@davidorama6690 thought so KGF clasic cars sure are keeping that Delorean under wraps. 🤔🤔👍
Ssshhh don't tell anyone :-)

Incredible condition, like new, I especially like the underside pictures. Wow.
Thank you!
What a truly exceptional Mark 1 Escort, I love it. Learned to drive in a Mark 1 1300L.
Exceptional!
That’s better than the day it left the showroom, especially underneath. Amazing car.

That takes me back. I had an Escort 1100, basic, dark blue, just a fuel gauge. rubber mats no heater rear heated screen. Simplicity at its best

I just love these old Ford's, the classic body lines and those wheels are beautiful. Thanks for showing👍

Very tasty! I remember a neighbour when I was a kid, had one of these in a superb metallic green. A luxurious small car by 1970s standards!

LOVE ESCORTS 1s and 2s - this one is a gem
We like Ford Escorts too!
I saw a blemish on the bonnet, but it turned out to be dirt on my I pad😼

Hahaha😂
Notice the screws holding the wood trim on the dash. And pulling the choke out to start !!
Simplicity!
The prettiest of all 1970s Fords? It would certainly appear so ...
We like it here!
Seriously good investment these cars values are only heading one way definitely grace any garage or collection

why did it need a repaint with so low mileage
Because old paint technology was shite.
The previous owner wanted a pristine car!

Thank you always red!
Do you have vehicles with a steering wheel on the left? The vehicles you sell are amazing but with a steering wheel on the right side ...
Thats the problem , driving in the UK , on the left hand side of the road,
We mainly deal with uk cars!
had some fella trying to tell me that they all had type 49 top plates and tramp bars?! can't get more original than this one for reference :)
No the 1300e does not have them parts!

Chance's are it is long gone not been on the road in over 15 years!
You've missed a trick
If you open the car window slightly the doors shut much easier
Thanks for the advise.
Wow, a stunning car. Do you really have to slam the doors. 🇬🇧

Okay, this one is the final straw - WHERE IS YOUR TIME MACHINE?!
