As much as I disliked some of the goofy backflips and stuff from UFC2, it had the best animations. I'll take backflips over static reused animations any day

Idk man. Considering that was 4 years ago i’d hope that they can fix a lot of the crazy ass flying through the air ko’s and tone down the ragdoll effect. Yes, I do hate seeing the fucking cage KO in ufc 3, as it seems to happen EVERY FUCKING GAME, but then again also hate seeing an uppercut knock some dude into a backflip. Like both aren’t realistic, at all. I think a healthy amount of the ragdoll, with an occasional animation built in would look fine.

After playing UFC 3, the striking looks so damn weird in UFC 2, everyone fights and strikes flatfooted lol. The knockouts are so damn amazing though.....makes me sad that they fucked it up by not putting them in the other UFC games. They finally got something right and figures they would get rid of them. @@KuyaArbee Meh, I hate the striking in UFC 2, I had no problem stringing together combos, just hated how awkward the striking felt. The animations just never looked right to me. Honestly Undisputed 3 wipes the floor with all the EA UFC games

UFC 2 is literally the BEST in terms of knockouts. Sure most were unrealistic but the animation prior. You didn't know you knocked them out in some cases until the ref stopped it. That was amazing.

@@Alexsmith-ob9ci Nah sometimes you don't, and you ask yourself "is it over?" for a split second before realising it is indeed over. In UFC 3 & 4, you immediately know because the camera zooms in instantly.
I will take a ragdoll backflip over the shitty canned animation ko's we have now. Is it unrealistic yes but that is bound to happen when you use physics for ko's and I am ok with that because it creates alot more content on TH-cam where as now almost every ko compilation of UFC 3 is identical because the animations get repeated over and over.

Yeah it looks trash I can't lie. Honestly even if they just revamped the whole grappling system instead of just the clinch then I think it would be a very solid game. But they don't even give us that. Literally all they've changed is clinch. Everything else could have just been patched into ufc 3
Just ufc 3 with a roster update and backyard brawls with a more limited career mode. They do this every game, tryna disguise it with a new flashy feature like last games fake press conferences and this one with the backyards
And that’s so unfortunate, knockouts are what gets people playing. It’s fun, exciting, and DIFFERENT! This should be one of the most developed things in the game in my opinion
@@FizzTheKing It just has the same graphics so it doesnt look like it. if you played ufc 3 a lot. And you watch a lot of that beta footage. Youll see they changed a lot of the stand up. I was watching jorge fight, he went from the body to the head and it was so beautiful. Body shot combinations look weird in ufc 3. But not only that it looks like everything was changed or slightly tweaked stand up wise. But i still have problems in certain areas. Its not gonna look like a different game till next gen tho.

xFINISHxHIMx EA Sports UFC The knockouts in UFC 3 got a little more rough ( in a good way ) after an update. Hopefully they do the same after initial reviews so there’s no controversy. It’s all about the kid market at the end of the day, parents won’t be buying something controversial for their kids. I’m buying my kid it though, hope they patch it good 😂😂

UFC 2 controls, knockouts and gameplay was the funnest ever, it just limited modes such as stand and bang and online knockout mode with a shit career mode

i agree, ufc 2 had some very cool kos even though some were a little exaggerated... i really liked the fact that you could keep hitting a ko'd opponent and could even choose between hooks, straights and hammerfists (unlike ufc 3 and ufc 4 beta)
I loved those ragdoll physics from UFC 2 & don’t understand why they didn’t just iterate from it in 3. As crazy as some of them were, they could seem more realistic than the mo-cap ones from 3. It was a great feeling when the KO’s captured some subtle movements relevant to what you just threw. They just needed to add more weight to the fighters so they wouldn’t flip around so much
The UFC 2 system needed some work, but switching to the animation system in UFC 3 was a huge mistake when it came to creating impactful finishes on the feet. You would get some crazy knockouts in UFC 2 that kept you coming back.

I'm honestly all about realism but I do respect this, I wouldn't mind if they put the knockouts in as an option just like how they did with graphics and performance.

UFC 2 had much better KOs. You can hit better KO combos and stuff to. The striking was a little more fast paced. Ive been looking back at some of my old KOs ( happy to see some of my clips made it into the video) the UFC 2 had much better KOs
Just a few small tweaks can make UFC4 the best UFC video game ever.

Definitely Agree that the new game should employ UFC 2 physics for knockouts, I love the realistic refinements that have been done to the newer versions but, ..if I throw for the fences, I feel the power of the punch or kick, or knee, elbow, I wanna see the shockwave ripple through his body or head, or his knee buckle from a good low kick, his face grimace in agony as his body caves from a shot to the liver. I genuinely hope they take the fans feedback I to consideration

In ufc 3 they tried to make it more realistic it seems, and not only did they fail but to me they made the game more difficult and less fun especially the knockout aspect. I used to have friends over and we’d do little tournaments in ufc 2 but with ufc 3 everyone is confused with how to do all their moves because they made it so damn complicated

I’ve had some cool knee, takedown intercepting knockouts on UFC 3 but UFC 2’s rag doll was satisfying. Even a straight punch timed just right would make a knockout look cool. The impact of strikes on UFC 3 is so underwhelming
UFC 2 Kos are the best
Either have the ragdoll ko animations of ufc 2 if they want variety (but with sliders to adjust the ragdoll effects) or have the ko animations of undisputed 3 if they are going for realism
Ea Ufc 2 is the only ea ufc game that competes with the quality of the THQ Ufc games.
UFC 2's knockouts look so impactful! The strikes look heavier than that sparring level animation they use in 3 and 4. They rip through the opponent instead of retracting at the moment of impact
And I like in ufc 2 that u can hit them when their knocked out when standing
I agree with this 100%. I remember when I went from ufc 2 to 3, I just felt knockouts were way too canned, which made some knockouts feel way too similar.
UFC 3 has euphoria physics which is a pre set animation that is still a bit ragdolly ufc 2 had straight ragdoll and it was beautiful. And they should really crank up the blood that splats on the floor, like bigger gashes and bigger drops and add the possibility of a doctor stoppage

Yeah. I would agree to bring back the same logic from UFC 2 and the ability to tone down the craziness of the knockouts.
I knew there was something that was missing in UFC 3 because i didn't get as hyped for the knockouts as i did in UFC 2
If they don’t want the “crazy unrealistic” knockouts, all they need to do is add weight to the fighters/turn up the environments gravity. I feel as if the latter would cause issues, especially if every animation (striking and moving) is physics based.
Regardless the fighters were fall faster and harder like they do in real life. Fighters should fall like a sack of potatoes, not a bag of balloons.
Another tweak would be to make the mat a touch bouncier so there’s a little give and take when a body smacks that shit.
I think UFC 3’s character and physics models were the best, and most weighty. They should just erase the keyed animations for the knockouts and let them crumble on their own.

they need to give you the option of hitting someone after they are KO'd would be amazing if they could simulate a person getting hit as they are sleep too... and bring back if they are ko'd bad enough they aren't able to stand and make it to the announcer naming the winner. Also have animation for people going to sleep instead just tapping out all the time.

UFC 2 was garbage IMO, the KOs were the best thing about it. It definitely was a game made for casual fans and not a good representation of MMA. It was hella arcadey.

If you look at actual fights in mma a lot times , UFC2 s physics was true to life in a lot of instances a guy gets kicked in head goes limp falls flat face first it's realistic more if you actually watch actual knockouts ..
Ragdoll Physics beat pre calculated animations every time, it's simple, there is no fun in animation, all the fun comes from the random calculations. But ragdoll physics are computationally expensive, hence why they removed it.

I personally enjoyed ufc 3's knockout system. Im a type of guy that likes realistic gameplay and animations and ufc 2's knockouts made me feel weird sometimes. But we all have our different opinions.
I think they should put the Ragdoll knockout but like a option that you can change for the players that don’t want ragdoll so they can have fun with ragdoll knockout or without
Tbh I would say ufc 1 has good knockouts I got it when it first came out and I always enjoyed when the opponent went stiff. Ufc 2 is just hilarious and ufc 3 is kinda boring.

I still play Ufc 2 till this day, and I wish they just did a big update for the fight roster and moves selection, I’ll be satisfied and probably wouldn’t even get ufc 4. I was disappointed when I found out they didn’t bring back the ufc 2 fight mechanics

Having no KO zoom like UFC 2 REALLY adds to the realism, like sometimes I’d knock someone out and be like “wait... is he gonna get back up?” And now you know instantly if you finished the finished the fight 😐
On UFC 2 I had a sweet moment where the opponent threw a flying attack and I responded with a side kick to the head that knocked them out of the air.
