Who else would rather watch that RD6 take slow laps in the woods than watch a modern-day NASCAR race ? 🤣 Awesome vid!

Thank you for sharing that with us. An old RD6 and she’s still putting like a kitten thanks to the TLC you give her. It was heartwarming to see you taking her through the woods. My hat’s off to you and those of kindred spirit who understand that these machines still have life in them and need to be saved from the scrapyard.

My favourite machine. Nearly 50 years ago i worked in a factory in the U.K. that made the big pistons for Caterpillar

Yeh! I just watched a chugs chugs Case 150 steamer pulling a 36 bottom plow. Talk about crawling!
Then, they had it on a belt drive dyno where it did 980 pressure, 178 hp and 5300 (yes 5300 ft lbs of torque). They warned everyone to stand way back in case that belt would snap.

The pony motor governor action with each compression stroke of the main engine was cool! That's how they're SUPPOSED to run. If they were well cared for and everyone had a pony that ran that well, there would be no market for direct start conversions.
