    Really like this 2 in one. A DMM and Oscilloscope. I like to use this in my hobby of installing car Audio. One thing I notice is the over range issue. In car audio we are looking for non-clipping signal and a over range reading can mislead one.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes over range can be an issue ..it's still a new meter so hopefully a revision of the firmware will solve that in the next iteration.

  • @probang2866
    @probang2866 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    There it is: The go-to DMM and Oszilloscope for (but not only for) beginners! Awesome! The manufacturer does simply everything right. It wouldn´t wonder me, if this device reaches the popularity (and sale counts) as the original Uni-T UT61E. And this would be well earned...

    • @KeepOnTesting

      Good comparison ProBang..I think the 702S definitely has the potential to be a very big hit in the multimeter arena..it's certainly deserving 👏

    I bought one based on Dave's review. He was unusually noncritical. I already have an Owon. So far I really like it for 1/3 the price. But so far, after some component tests, I have been using it with an HT antenna, watching the output from my transceiver and looking at RF from other sources. Although it is 10kHz it accurately displays the frequency up to at least 20mHz, so can be used as a counter. It is a pretty good HF RF monitor. I'll be checking the voltage and current accuracy later. I still have the Aneng SZ-20 to test! Too many DMMs.
    There IS a REL. On the on/off button.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think you'll be impressed by its accuracy..so far its been a real trooper !

    Hello Darren. Haven't been on in a while, life changes every week...
    Thanks for the review. This device, like its brother OWON, is a very good device. For the price of $65 we have hybrid circuitry and a good set of instructions. For beginners and advanced electronics engineers, this is a very good device. There are friends who use these on the road. In our country, a lot of people earn money repairing equipment, car repairs in their garage. And such a device makes their life easier. Its accuracy is confident, even with an increase in frequency, it remains at a good level.
    Of course, you can find flaws in this device, but the price covers them.
    It was possible to expand the information content of the scale by the limit, by overload. You forgot to mention the REL function.
    In general, I agree with the rating 5 out of 5))

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes my friend! A well constructed and programmed multimeter and oscilloscope at a very fair price ! I didn't see the REL was on the power button during my initial review..not the best location but it does have a REL. ! It's an excellent tool and worth those 5 stars ! 😃

    Just know that the battery you replaced it with is most certainly NOT 5000mah. 18650's top out at about 3500mah for 'low drain' types, and even less for high drain (~10A+) ones.
    This is why it's important to buy Li-Ion batteries from reputable vendors like 18650batterystore. There's a good chance that battery is even less MAH than the original, although the original could have had inflated numbers printed on it as well.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes indeed...3500mah is to be expected 😊 I've since replaced it with a Samsung INR18650 I rescued from a Dewalt 20V Max battery. It's a great battery...just not thrilled that it's pink 😅😅😅

    No to criticize
    Great video. But not to criticize too much…
    3:50 Plastic BNC’s on a oscilloscope is not a manufacture cheapening out on a product. Its actually the complete opposite, typically, if not always plastic BNC’s indicates isolated inputs. Because it costs two to three times more to manufacture isolated front end on an oscilloscope.
    But in the case of this singe channel scope as long as your not using the usb at the same time as probing a circuit grounded to the same power source you shouldn’t have any issue. Because the power ground and probe ground will almost always share shielding on full metal BNC’s.
    15:08 Does that not say REL on the red power button?

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      REL: Yes..I stated that in the comments as well..I completely missed the Rel/Power button as it was really badly placed.
      PLASTIC BNC: Good point 👉 👈 I didn't look at it from that perspective but makes sense.

    I looked at a lot of reviews on this device and nowhere did I find a mention of such, maybe not very noticeable, as it seems to me, a software glitch in terms of display - this is a periodic flicker of symbols of the type of measurement in multimeter mode, such as AC, DC, graphic elements of a resistor, diode, calls. This manifests itself in the form of a small periodic flickering of the upper part of these elements on the screen. I am the owner of this device, and at first I thought that it was only me who had such a jamb, but after looking at several reviews, this is also noticeable on the video. The firmware is the latest 51st, a device branded RICHMETERS 702S. This bug is present for everyone or not, I would like to know, it seems like a trifle, but not very pleasant. Not true. Several vendors employ plastic connectors. Its a BNC connector with a molded plastic body. These plastic BNC connectors come in 50 and 75Ω versions and are fully compatible with existing products and applications while offering customers cost and weight savings.The plastic BNC connectors are nearly half the weight of a conventional version, weighing ~15g compared to metal versions at ~28g. Weight sensitive applications include mobile devices, instrumentation and avionics systems.

    It finally ARRIVED! By the way, with a newer software version (1.03.51). This version has a MAJOR improvement: EVERY TIME you select "A" or "mA" in the multimeter mode (including switching between these modes), it displays (graphically!) the correct connection of test leads. Unfortunately, it does not display anything when you RETURN from those modes.
    PS, being advertised as TRUE-RMS, it cannot do this for high frequencies even in the scope mode!
    The situation: a vintage Soviet VFD calculator with a step-up converter, its VFD filament is powered directly from one of the secondary coils. The voltage on it is 2.5 V RMS +/- 10%, 115 kHz, PWM-like pulses with duty approx. 25..30% and without any DC component, 8..8.5 VPP. In multimeter mode, it displays zero (as all my other multimeters except Electrónica MMC-01 which displays 7 V). In scope mode, it displays 3.33 V RMS, which is definitely deadly for the VFD (and it operates perfectly!). Are there any multimeters that are able to measure RMS of such signals correctly (at least +/- 10%)?

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great stuff !! Honestly.. to measure high frequencies a good Scope is the only way to go. Dmms always have low maximum bandwidth involved. I don't know if the expensive Fluke 87 has analog or digital true-rms conversion. I'd say digital..most cases "true RMS DMM" means "it works for 50/60/120Hz that's about it..

    Wow - Five stars, a true red letter day-!! This one stands out for solid engineering effort, maximum value and functionality at a reasonable price. This shows a true upscaling in the world of budget hybrid DM's, as said in the review its been attempted before but this one shows a genuine intent to make it a good quality and useable device, not just a half baked attempt as seen so many times before.

      You got it Mike! 👍 This one stings real good ! It has so many functions and they all work out of the box. Combined with great build quality and stable software at around 65$ US its really hard to beat. 5 Stars and deservedly so ✨️ 👌

    If you give it a 5/5 that can mean only 1 thing. I have to get it. Looks amazing and for the price it really is a no brainer. I have a couple other scope meters but this really seems a cut above. great review.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The REL mode basically zeros your multimeter reading at whatever point you are currently measuring. This point then becomes the new RELATIVE..a baseline measurement point ...
