I like my TRD it is my 3rd Tundra. Only wanted to see the TRex and hear the Supercharger. To much HP and costs too much $ more than twice more than mine. It is not twice as good.
50000 miles on mine and no issues. First relases with issues are fine and is 100% normal. Even the 2014 facelift had issues because its using a design from 2007.
Keep the V8 bro. Never buy first year motors. You want more power, slap a supercharger on it! You can buy a USB port for rear which I did. I have the platinum which has power folding mirrors.
I think you should get the '22 Tundra so someone who actually appreciates your TRD Pro can enjoy it. Have fun paying $22K to replace the turbos once they fail! Also, the 14" infotainment screen is $10K to replace if it burns out. Thats not a bad deal having to spend another $32K on your '22 after it's paid off.
So you want sound instead of a more powerful, faster 0-60, better towing, better mileage, better riding truck? Seems like a lot of give up for some sound lol

@@mick2798n my opinion the old truck is more reliable, more simple performs well enough and sounds better. I don't care if the new truck is faster, or rides better or has more tech, for me in a those things are irrelevant for most use cases for a 1500 size truck. I do like the interior and exterior styling of the new truck it's nicer there's no argument there from me. If you could put the old drivetrain suspension and engine into the new truck minus all the tech it would be perfect but all the complicated tech, fancy drivetrain and engine with turbos really makes me concerned for reliability even for Toyota. Don't forget turbos are ware items they will go and it will be expensive.
Ironically every complaint you had is exactly why the Toyota tundra second GEN is the greatest truck ever made. It doesn’t have any of that bullshit that breaks it’s just hard reliable from beginning to end.
All of those things you said your truck doesn't have can easily be done to it with some modification and mine has completely blacked out interior with 12" stereo display. I'll keep my 2017 Pro till the engine dies and then I'll just drop a new engine in it and keep on fully enjoying my ride. I just recently rented a 2024 Tundra sr5 and HATED IT, I couldn't wait to get back into my V8 beast. The turn radius SUCKS in the new ones too, just a small note in the many complaints.
Lousy mpg, but in return, you have A reliable vehicle. Get another vehicle that may have good mpg, but it may not be as reliable. Once you put the money in it you’re better to go with something that gets less mpg, tundra is much more reliable, tip the scale, any which way you wanna go
Had my 5.7ltr 2020 Tundra TRD Pro for almost 2 years. Had the same engine in the Tundra SR5 and the Limited before this one. Tundras don't have a lot of bells and whistles but are reliable and hold their bluebook value. Would not consider trading for an unproven powerplant or anything else. Going to ChipTune first which finds another 60hp=approx.460hp to see how it performs for $(100.00) installed by me. Then decide if I want to add the Magnasun Supercharger approx 550hp without a chip, $(10,000) dealership installed. My #s say the CPU chip cost approx $(1.60) per HP. The Supercharger cost approx. $(65.00) per HP. Supercharger costs approx 40 times more per HP than the chip. Took TRD to Dodge dealership to test drive the Trex with the HellCat powerplant, 700HP for $(115,000). Sales Manager saw my TRD and forgot about the Trex. Sales Manager wanted the TRD for himself. Had to remind them that they sold Dodges. Bought brand new 2020 TRD Pro and a custom 2020 (20ft) triple tube poontoon boat with a 115Hp Suzuki outboard for $(50,000). TRD and the Poontoon together were $(5,000) less than the Trex.
I think of reasons to drive the TRD Pro. If I save some more penneys, I may get the Supercharger and a pair of slick tires for burnings. 60+years old, all I have are hobbies & toys.
Those are reason not to buy the 2022. Its just all looks but no reliability. Plus the 2021 looks more rugged for dads or men who actually use a truck without caring for mpg
Love what you have my friend. I would love to have your truck, sure the new one is better but just because something newer comes out it doesn’t diminish the usefulness of the tool you already have
If you’re just gonna be boujie, why you even going Toyota. GM has been crushing it with interior last year or two…granted any of their trucks prolly won’t last very long, but it’s boujie enough 😁
There is nothing wrong with your truck bruh
Exactly
I own a 2019 Tundra TRD PRO and I’m obsessed with it! I’ll take this dinosaur over anything! This guy doesn’t know what he has
Uhhhhhh that dashboard is worrisome

Twin turbo v6 is not that good. You never know when the turbos will go out. 5.7 v8 is reliable.
The v8 will outlast that twin turbo v6 that already has wastegate issues
If only they gave us that option in the 2022 smh definitely woulda been amazing with all the new interior

Might wanna look at a 2020-2022 when they added more safety feat. But old style is so much better
Ford switched to v6 twin turbos with the raptors. Let's hope tundra is ok too
Where did you get the black out stuff for the interior?

2020 is likely still more reliable too this is new territory for Toyota to ditch the V8 no ones fault but these US Import restrictions
The interior looks like it was made in the early 2000s but definitely a great truck overall
My 19 SR5 has blind spot and parking sensors cross traffic sen too
I love the 19-22 TRD Pro, its simple, spacious, and reliable. I will put that Supercharger on. Will take that over the '22 any day of the week.

Yeah but is it 15k worth of improvements. My pro was 53 that new pro is 67. So like 75 otd.
Battery pack? Really?
I don’t have a tundra but I think like your generations better. Nothing quite like a v8
What’s the best way to black out the chrome inside?
Cool thing about the '20 is it doesn't break down and end up in the shop for a month, over and over again.
Those are reason not to buy the 2022. Its just all looks but no reliability. Plus the 2021 looks more rugged for dads or men who actually use a truck without caring for mpg

Ill buy it👍
Yours looks way better…grass is not greener
It's not worth paying 4k+ over msrp in my opinion. I haven't found any of the 2022 tundras cheaper
The 5.7 will go 1,000,000 miles the TTV6 will not.
1,000,000 & more if regularly maintained. Best rated V8 engine in the world.
Another reason! MPG! I’m getting a cool 12.5mpg on my 20 Pro lol
Engine?
Power would be nice but not a fan of v6 twin turbos
Are you will put parking sensors?
My TRD is exactly like the photo except I added a topper.
Love your truck
No back up camera??? 😅

No turn signal on side mirrors either...not even an option on any trim.
I prefer that one over the new one all day long
"Can I get a USB" hahaha lol.
you are such a Millennial.. lol
Sounds like a Gen Z to me.
Let me know when you upgrade, I will purchase this one off you
I'll take this over the new ones.
You currently have a truck that is reliable AF! Who cares about all that other crap.
That your choice? But can You tell people what to buy? You only buy what you want and like for your selves suit you feelings.
Looks better with red interior
Dont do it. That V8 is unbeatable. That new V6 will die soon
Damn guess v6 really are trash
6’ bed pls
I’d take that truck all day long over a new one!!
Never get rid of the V8. I'm not.
Twin turbo v6 lack of reliability and longevity will never trump naturally aspirated reliability and durability
The things people care for today is ridiculous, good engine and trans in a good frame with solid suspension is all I care about
Dont understand why people complain about gas they like trucks but don't wanna spend money on gas.
Is this the video of how many excuses I can come up with to buy a truck I don't need?
I love mines
This TH-cam video is sick

Dude… keep your truck.
Nah, you’re lost bro. That model is where it’s at.
Comparison is the thief of all joy brother.

Those sensors are annoying idk why people like them but to each their own

Yeah the new ones have problems and they are overpriced. I’ll take the 20 anyway
Sell me this one if you don’t want it!
TRD PRO is too much for me platinum is great
Can I get the USB🤣🤣
…but that weak v6
The new tundra is the guinea pig….
The 5.7L is a proven design. Don’t do it…

You buy a toyota for reliability not luxury
Ok give me the truck for free bro
Your looking for a reason to wast your 💰 money 😂😂😂new tundra engines blow up at 5 thousand miles
I’m think you don’t know what you want

You will regret
They got that gay engine, don’t do it. I honestly don’t like the looks of it either.
