- Unlocked the probably final furniture piece, so at least going to play until I have that 😂
Running low on new discoveries, so the first 4 minutes is for new stuff and I put an extremer measures Hades fight after that just for fun.
Zagreus: So where's that Lucifer guy now?
Zeus: oh in some wrecked hole called...Los Angeles
man of culture as well I see
He takes a part time job of messing with two brothers and an angel.
@@courtneydumont5547 nah you mean to say he's a consultant for the LAPD
Zeus: No, scratch that. He went to his equivalent of the Underworld... now I see why my brother is such a stiff given what happened with Lucifer.
You're not referring to the guy eternally cursed to drive a taxi cab in Santa Monica, right ?
The best line that Zagreus said after I beat Hades for the fourth time in a row.
"In the name of... someone very sore right now."
That one is great when you beat the game and beat Hades, and he says "Tell no one at the house", and Zagreus says that. It works too well.
Meg just straight up booty called Zag. Not something I expected from a fury, but it was a welcome suprise.
I was like....did they just......? I thought it was just my dirty mind :))
@@ComputingCode there’s another scene where both than and meg do the dirty deed... zag definitely bottoms for both
I mean it is Greek Mythology. Half the stories at least have something to do with it.
Too bad you can add nyx to the party.
@@EJJones-yr1jr Nyx is basically Zag’s step mother.
Megs voice just send shivers down my spine. The good kind of shivers....
she sounds stoned and bored at the same time
All of the character have very good voice acting. Best I've heard anywhere
I’m assuming all the way down to your pants
Right? I’m not usually a “step on me” type but that voice makes an exception.
Has anyone else noticed the small detail of a, presumably, female figure on the West Hall Fountain and pouring the water into the Pool of Styx? I think that is the river Styx's personification, Styx herself. And on the fireplace in the West Hall, there's three robed female figures, which might be the Fates/Morai, or even a representation of the triple goddess theme like with Hecate and other, even non-greek mythology, goddesses. Cute details!
I just realised the entire concept of the game could be applied to norse mythology with Baldur and Hel
You can do the same thing with Hindu myth as well
@A Follower of Muscular Bara Hentai Doujin Religion everyone wants to escape death. Myths about people trying and failing only reinforces that we need to do our best with the time we’re given. All men must learn this lesson eventually.

And daddy issue for everyone XD
I wonder if maui counts because he tries to get immortality but fails and then dies
Someone get on that!
Biggest difference between Lucifer and Zeus is that Zeus didn’t lose xD
It helps that Zeus is a god himself. Lucifer is a seraph, an angel with the power close to a god, but still an angel.
That's actually a pretty accurate statement.
Lucifer still keeps fighting though, even if he knew he was gonna lose, I can respect that.
@@bakedgoods7116 Can we really call it a fight?Like...the difference between God and lucifer was ASTRONOMICAL compared to Zeus and kronos. It was the equivalent of a spanish mom beating her kid with a chancla.
@@kamishin7135 Yeah but this is Lucifer we're talking about here. He was God's most perfect creation and likely his most powerful. Zeus only won against Cronus because Cronus has NOTHING on the Man Upstairs. And Lucifer is more than likely far more powerful than Zeus.
0:59 funny how zag took offense to that when zeus might have been talking about himself
Zeus succeeded in killing his father, unless in the game Kronos is still alive.
@@royaloreo1275 Zeus is referencing how Lucifer tried to usurp God, his father, just like how the Olympians tried to usurp Kronos, their father.
There's also a motif in Greek mythology on how the next generation will dominate things. The Titan Age ended when the Olympians were born, and it's prophesied that Olympus will fall by the hands of their own children, ending their reign.
I know Im a month late but him saying "Hey..." is just what he does when you get a lot of rare boon options. It's the good kind of "hey."
@@royaloreo1275 that is a matter of perspective, some say titans are immortal as in timeless others say immortal means immortal no matter how horribly your body is destroyed
@@royaloreo1275 Cronus didn't die, he was thrown to Tartarus like many of the other Titans.

LOL Zag is like well since you said can I dive into the Styx why not YEET
Dionysus decides to destroy his enemies by giving them a really bad hangover
Sure?
He is also the God of Madness, I think there was a little more than a hangover going on there
There's Dyonisus, the god of Wine and then, we have Bilious, the OH GOD of hangovers (no god, but OH GOD; there's a critical difference XD).
Madness, parties, wine ,etc. He's a god with a lot of power, since he could make a town party and revel until death.
He once had a city-state’s palace devolve into a wild orgy cause the king denounced him. Said king was brutally ripped apart by his mother, wife, and every other woman in his family when Dionysus drove them mad and they became deranged, party obsessed nymphs that chose to follow him afterwards. So yeah, don’t fuck with the hippy god. Long as he’s drunk and happy, everything is copacetic.
Zag doing the “i’ll be back” hand
when does he do it? I rewatched the video and I can't see it :(

does that make everyone pantheon exist in the same universe?
@Zatchooze Naut huh... it would be cool to see more games, I mean there are Guan Yu (there are a lot of things to made from it) Rama, hell even Lucifer, but I don't know about Gilgamesh, Arthur and Beowulf
@Zatchooze Naut They are in the same universe only different timeline.
DarkMage16 Gilgamesh is an ancient Sumerian hero/deity, Arthur is possibly real and was the leader of Romano Britain and northern France and Beowulf is old English hero back when the English lived in Denmark lucifer is the fallen angel from the bible and Rama is one of the blue really important deity in Hinduism and I have no idea who guan Yu is but I’ll look it up really if hades had dlc or sequels with the same gameplay just different religions it would be amazing

If Lucifer exists in Hades. Does this mean that Big G himself also exists? Are God and Lord Chaos different beings or are they the same entity but went with a different name.
Yes... Zeus pretty much confirms god does probably does exist considering what he says "Lucifer, was it? Struck his own lord father! Tried to, anyway"

It's implied a lot of pantheons besides the Greek one exist in the Hades universe including the Abrahamic, Hindu and Mesopotamian/Sumerian pantheons, alongside myths and stories like the Arthurian myth, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the poem of Beowulf
I like to imagine God is just kinda a looming enitiy that just made man and then threw them all over the other pantheons do the gods could you know get a fucking job
I’m sorry, but was that a TERMINATOR 2 reference in that first death scene?!

Another addition, did Megaera and Zagreus just fuck?? This is in the game??? What the fuck???
I need to get the game now...
Yes yes they did. You can bone Thanatos too. At the same time
Lucifer? Ooooh, that's raising some big questions. Is this a DC situation where all religions are correct in spite of the myriad of contradictions?
Yes. All myths being true is actually rather common in modern fantasy settings.

I want to know who was the voice in the beginning
Logan Cunningham is the voice actor and it has now been confirmed that the narrator is Homer.
It would be awesome if there was a Norse version, a roman version, heck, we can maybe even include Christianity in their! (Actually probably not, since its a living religion, that might offend a lot of people)
What about the ancient Egyptian one ?
That would be super cool too
@@sirpumpkin99 i would love to see more mythologies put into video games, great way to learn basic understanding of the mythologies, and would be very interesting to see!
@@sirpumpkin99 an egyptian one would be awesome, I don't have much knowledge of the mythology, so it would be cool to see!
Ye gads the Bible thumpers would come out of the woodwork
Ah yes, Lucifer. The guy that makes Zeus look weak and underpowered. I'm serious. The Devil would wreck Greek Gods with ease.
Based on what. The only thing Lucifer did was being beaten up by the arch angel Micheal. If were going with non canonical gospels he's even less impressive
No, not really, He's embarrassingly dreadfully less impressive than you think. The gods would crush him and thank God for the privilege of beating a rebellious servant with delusions of Hubris. Zeus rebelled and became king of the gods. Lucifer rebelled, took one/third of his number and never came close to harming God and got thrashed by the rest of angels who made the smart decision to not back someone who hadn't gone toe to toe with God himself. So while Zeus was himself a god in his own right and on roughly the same footing. Luci is an attendant and servant and doesn't come remotely close. It'd be like a Valet stealing your sportscar pretending its his and be completely blindsided by other valets who take it back and throw him out. While the owner is just wondering why the valet service is so slow and why is there fighting in the parking lot.
In some versions the guy doesnt even have a physical body after big papa got tired of his rebellious phase.
@@zacharyhawley1693 your trying to power scale Christianity and Greek Mythology.
are we really doing this debate with religions?
Finally someone who uses his call like me

Lucifer in Greek legend?
I think they're following the rules of Christian mythology.
Where in the book of genesis God had left 70 angels to watch over the tribes of man after the separation at Babylon. Long story short these angels coveted their power, believed themselves equal to God and made the humans worship them. Eventually having children, who spawned more children and so forth. Eventually culminating in the various pagan pantheons of the world.
Hades the god was in the gospel of Nicodemus. There he called Satan stupid, so that was funny. To summarized, Satan begged Hades to do something about Jesus and he was like: "not my Buisness". Hades even got a little cruce from Jesus (sweet). I mean it was stated to be a symbol for victory for Jesus, but nobody ever took a Soul from hades (the place) without leaving something there. The closest was Heracles, but he left an arrow there.
@@culterwaleddy can you recommend a book about this? Im interested :^
slightly late, but Lucifer is a roman epithet of Apollo's, seemingly an adaptation of his Phosophoros epithet when the romans adapted the Greek pantheon (both mean lightbringer). Seeing as Apollo is also a psychopomp, with snakes and ravens as his sacred animal, in addition to being the God of Reason and Knowledge (alluded to in the Tree that got Adam and Eve booted from the Garden), Lucifer is likely to be based on Apollo.
also note how Apollo tried to dethrone Zeus, but failed. sound familiar?
Super late but yes - An obscure god called Phosphorus is known as Lucifer in latin. He's the god of dawn and light but nothing about him trying to overthrow his father, that would be the result of early Christian theology conflating him with Satan and the King of Babylon from Isaiah 14
How do you unlock that fountain?
I recall getting it after buying everything else.

@@alifz2223 "what kind of name is Arthur" I lmao'd
The Rail has "Aspect of Lucifer". Each of the weapons have a hidden aspect, which each of them are from different pantheons other than Greek
Why would pagan greek gods talk about an angel of abrahamic religions?
This is a writing trope called "All myths are true".
@@Shiobana753the only difference is that Abrahamic religions, specifically Christinity is true :)
@@generalyousif3640 Mate the comment's over two years old, why toss paper on dusted tomes?
@@lordshennington2756
Time in the realm of social media is irrelevant haha
You can unlock alternative aspect of your weapons which reference characters from different myths, like Gilgamesh. They don't really play much of a role outside of gameplay factors so the bonus side dialogue, like the god talking about those stories, is likely just flavor or tales told outside of Greece.
That said, Lucifer originates from Roman mythology, with his Greek counterpart being Phosphorus. He is the god of the planet Venus, the Morning Star. His name was later taken and reused in the Abrahamic myth to compare the king of Babylon and his downfall to the Morning Star. The verse had similarities to another which was directed at Satan and so was interpreted as referring to the same character. So you could say Greek gods do have some footing to talk about Lucifer. Still I'd say it's just a nod to other myths like other aspects.
