    Jags were way ahead of their time in the 1950's, 60's, independent suspension all round, disc brakes all round, twin overhead cam engines, monocoque body construction with low center of gravity, smooth, silent and very fast! Sports car performance in a four door saloon.
    No live rear axles, no leaf springs and no ineffective drum brakes, we actually have roads with corners here in Great Britain.
    Cheers for the video though.

      gjmob I got a few American cars that I’ll guarantee outrun any anemic piece of crap you own. I also have a European car. Only good thing about it is the gas mileage.

      @@jaregg yank prat whats the gas milage of a 4.2 Jag or should I say cubic inches.

    • @jaregg
      @jaregg 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@itsChris65 Prat? hahahaaaa! keyboard warrior over here, fellas. And yes, that Jag gets terrible mileage. SO other than it's stylish looks, there's nothing good about it. If it had some Corvette underpinnings and an LS motor, it could really be something. The original British gear is all junk. That especially goes for anything with the name Lucas on it.

    That is an amazingly beautiful car - which is a very good reason for buying it. You should be congratulating your friend - not questioning his presence of mind. I did not see one speck of rust on its beautiful blue paintwork. On a car imported from England, that alone is remarkable.

    That basic engine, designed in the 40's, was left largely unchanged and so good they kept it through part of the 80's. Very cool and very clean Jag.

  • @STANLIZ4

    Wouldnt be so dismissive of tools/grease gun instructions etc, they are usually very rare items in a car so old. It appears to be in astonishing condition, give it maximum respect, or, send it back home! We are very short of these, especially with wire wheels! Dont recall seeing one like this before and in that lovely blue!

  • @EdisonLightGlobes
    @EdisonLightGlobes 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I have that identical car. It looks to have been resprayed. The paint on the engine bay looks greener. Old red leather in that condition is rare enough, soft and worn. A bit of a tear but perhaps repairable. Timber could do with a re finish. All in all not worth a heck of a lot but could sell to right hand drive country. It is a pity since driving one of these is an eye opener. Sound great and very smooth.
    Thanks for sharing this video, it does help answer a few questions I had of mine.

    A great way to clean and fix up the rusty original Jaguar tools is to soak them over night in this stuff called Vaporust. The guy from the TH-cam channel Hand Tool Rescue uses it for parts way older than those. They come out of that bucket looking almost new.

    I don't know who you think you are but your comments about this car just shows how ignorant and xenophobic you are - as for your "brake bleeding" comment you didn't even recognise a grease gun when you saw it. If that car had been a "yank tank" sitting in the open since the 1980s, and was a 1960s build I know that it would have no paint left on it and the vinyl would be trashed. This car had beautiful leather, and the paint still shone. Snide bastard!
