Hi, Our family of 4 is coming to the region in mid June. How many days do you recommend us staying in the Puglia region? Would 10 days be enough to spend there? And where should we split our time from Bari? To Lecce. We will pick up the car from ROME.
@@miavirginia7767 Hi :) There's so much to see in this region honestly, but it depends on what you like. 10 days with a car should be a great start to get a taste of it though! And about splitting your time in the region, we're not sure because we've only been to Bari and did a quick day trip to a nearby town. We would suggest pick 2-3 bigger cities as a base and then do day trips either by car or train ;) safe travels and enjoy your time in Italy!
Yay we have been planning our trip to Italy going the end of June. Bari is on our list as that is where my dad was from. Thank you for this glimpse definitely going to try some of your suggestions!
Hi Angela! That's amazing. We were in Bari in June and it seemed like the perfect time to visit :) We really loved our time there and are hoping to be back later this year to explore more of this area. Safe travels and good luck planning! If you have any questions, we're here :)
We just spent 11 days in Bari, taking day trips around Puglia by train. Your video brought back wonderful memories. Polignano a Mare was spectacular. You should check out Alberobello. After Bari we took a train north and spent 11 days in Pescara, in Abruzzo. More modern that Bari as it was rebuilt after WWII. The food is incredible and the city is vibrant, with beautiful beaches. It is very close to the Gran Sasso, but you really need a car to explore the region.
Hi Ann! Thanks so much for sending us recs. We plan to visit this area again later this year. Alberobello has been added to our list :) Hopefully we'll be able to rent a car or scooter to see more of this beautiful region! Thanks again ❤️
You have to do Basilicata! Castelmezzano in particular! My father was born there and I lived there for four years as an adult. They have an amazing zip line, farm to table food, lots of b&b’s - give it a Google!
wow! it looks so beautiful!! we are in the process of researching our trip to Italy (for September). there is way too much to see in that country - it's so hard to choose where to go! but we'll add Castelmezzano to our list of options 🙂
The video was fantastico...If you are in Italy around December 8th, don't forget to see the Christmas markets of Bolzano, Merano and Arezzo...they are amazing. Even off season these cities are incredibly beautiful.❤🇮🇹❤️
Oh that sounds amazing. Thanks so much for sending us recs. We are actually going back to Italy but in September and October, so we'll miss the Christmas markets, but hopefully one day 🙏🏼

just a heads-up for your next trip in italy: the classic italian gesture 🤌is basically a question mark. We use it when we say "what do you want?" or "what are you saying?" or even just "what?". And we use it more when we are angry. It doesnt make much sense with an affirmative sentence 👀 The old man at the end is speaking Bari dialect and even thouhg I live one hour and a half away from the city I could only understand something about him being stronger than a young man. Next time you visit puglia I suggest Ostuni, Monopoli (very close to polignano), alberobello, and more to the south Lecce. Thank you so much for your video, although I would have liked a little more information (Like: is there any bar to drink a coffee at the seaside inside Bari? How much did you pay for orecchiette? What did the church look like where you went for 3seconds visit ...) Greetings!
Hi! Yes, sorry, we didn't really plan this video as we usually do. The trip was last minute and we were just hanging out in Bari, and eating our way around because we love Italian food! To answer some of your questions: 1. Orecchiette was 2.5 EUR for 1/2 kg - 2. We visited a few churches, but we usually don't show that stuff in our videos. The St Nicholas church in particular was stunning! 3. We didn't spend much time on the seaside so we really don't know 🙈 - hope this helps! Have an amazing time in Bari. It's a beautiful city!!
I think you may mean the old castle with the art museum? I don't remember a central piazza with museums, but you may be right 🙂 the museum in the castle is also worth visiting.
Nice video, a bit caricatural with the mandolin because the typical music of Puglia is the Pizzica... The orechiette which means "little ears" are eaten in Puglia with cime di rappa. And panzerotti are not a speciality of Bari but of the Apulian region ;-) PS : if you liked Bari, you would have loved Lecce (the Florence of the Baroque) so much ! And the beaches on the Ionian part of Salento are fabulous.
hahaha thanks! That's the vibe we were going for LOL it was just the music we found on the website we use for our songs. Thanks so much for sending recs! :) It was just a super short trip, but we will be back next year and Lecce is HIGH on our list! We can't wait to be back as Italy is my (Aimara) favorite country in the world! PS: we bought some orechiette with cime di rappa to take with us back to Albania and it was so good. Kind of regret not eating it at a restaurant, but oh well.. there's always next time! Thanks again for being here :)
We did go back! Our last video is from Puglia. We went to Lecce, Gallipoli, Monopoli, Alberobello & Otranto 😎 Giovinazzo & Molfetta will have to be for next time.
there is a fishing port, and there's a fish market near Piazza Eroi del Mare. Whether there is lobster is another question, but I guess there would be... and yes, there are local specialty/gourmet shops with will definitely have nice olive oils.
Ok for your 3 month trip to italy start in the North. Make sure you Tour The Alps. Lake Como the microclimates of Lake Garda Desenzano Pra Del Garda and Limone and Lake Lugano Then Venice. Then Po' Valley Cities. Then Ravenna then Rimini Coast. Then Spend a week in Liguria starting from Nice to Mortola Hanbury Gardens to Ospedaletti Palm Forest in Bordighera then Alassio Albenga Then Portofino and 5 terre. The spend a week in around Tuscany and Elba Island Maremma Florence then Wine hills etc..then a week in Corsica and Sardinia. Go to Calanchi di Piana Ajaccio Scala di santa Regina Then Bavella and Ajaccio
Thank you so much for listing all of these recommendations!! We will be heading to Italy in September, but probably 'only' for 2 months. We will definitely be hitting many of the spots on your list!! 😎

I'm visiting Bari next week with my kids. How's the level of tourists vs locals? Do the socailmediapeople keep a low profile or will I feel like an extra in a movie? I don't like uncalled attention.
No worries. We've had many many issues with our audio since the beginning of our channel. Trying to learn and get better with our newer videos, but this one wasn't one of them. We understand :( Basically, Bari is awesome and you will eat a lot of good food 😂
Uderrated City for Some. Not for me , Northen Italian (Veneto). BARI Is Regional Capital Apulia . Southern East Beauy and Historical , Ancient City built in Rock. Food Is Natural food.
One of the worst pizza's I've ever had in my life was in Bari. The city is so dirty and not for people who like their food. Also, we were left disappointed with the number of caffe places per neighborhood. All in all, a city-harbour.
Not for people who like food? Did you only find yourself in tourist traps? There isn't a major city in Italy that has bad food, you just have to go to the right spots 🤷🏻♂️
I am not sure what you are talking about, in Rome there are plenty of fantastic places to eat, just do your homework and avoid tourist traps as in every touristic city large or small, but to say that in Rome food is a disaster it's just ridiculous
That gesture with two hands it's not italian. It means nothing. With an hand, on the contrary, it's a very rude gesture, meaning: "What do you want!?!! It's a gesture of defiance. Never use it! This turns Italy into a caricature. Like the mandolins in the background music.

The St Nicholas church in particular was stunning! 3. We didn't spend much time on the seaside so we really don't know 🙈 - hope this helps! Have an amazing time in Bari. It's a beautiful city!!
Beautiful places
What a pity! You should have visited Castel del Monte... you two are delightful guys
thanks for the tip! we always have to save something for next time 😉
BARI HAS A BEAUTIFUL CENTRAL PIAZZA WITH AN HISTORICAL AND ART MUSEUM IN THE SAME PLACE. DON´T MISS IT.
If you go back to Puglia you need to go to Giovinazzo, Molfetta, Lecce.
We did go back! Our last video is from Puglia. We went to Lecce, Gallipoli, Monopoli, Alberobello & Otranto 😎 Giovinazzo & Molfetta will have to be for next time.
Great to hear! Enjoy when you go back. 😊
Does Bari have a fishing port ? Somewhere to buy local lobster at all or local shops to buy olive oil?
there is a fishing port, and there's a fish market near Piazza Eroi del Mare. Whether there is lobster is another question, but I guess there would be... and yes, there are local specialty/gourmet shops with will definitely have nice olive oils.
Great video. Thank you.
Thanks so much!! Glad you liked it :)
Think would use this city as a base with guided daytrips to smaller areas after hearing buses always late etc..
Bari is an excellent place to have as a base to explore this beautiful area :)

@@waysoftheworld_ but there's a lot more lol I didn't list everything lol
@@waysoftheworld_ Milan you need to see the huge Marble Duomo.
Hi guys. What was the name of the restaurant where you had your first meal? Im off next month and it seems a good place!
Hello - I don't think we ever took down the name, but I'm 85% sure it's called Antò - Cucina tipica pugliese 🙃 Have a great time in Bari!
Ciao!!! Where did you go for the the meat and cheese platter?
Ciao! here it is: maps.app.goo.gl/8SGyt5LZwhatG7Pb8 (Pepo, Lucaneria & Piazza)
You ate the panzerotto like a pro, girl!
hahaha this is the best compliment ever! Thank you! I hope to eat even more later this year :)
Came here to say this! That's how you eat a panzerotto 👏👏👏
Being in Italy is my favorite thing, being in Italy is my favorite thing 🎶 (if you know where that’s from, I’m ready for us to be best friends!)
🇮🇹❤️🙂
Next time you come to Italy, visit the whole Puglia area including Lecce and surrounding towns!
Hi! Thanks so much for sending recs :) You're not going to believe this, but despite the fact that we've never been to Lecce, this is where we joke that we want to live one day 😂 We want to go back to Italy later this year, and we will for sure be exploring more of that area 😍 Grazie!!
@@waysoftheworld_ that’s amazing! I am moving to lecce this year😁
How many days do you recommend in the Puglia region to cover most of the area? Would 10 days be enough? We will be there mid June.
@@miavirginia7767 I think that more than enough! Everything is very nearby
@@miavirginia7767 Puglia is quite long but you can visit the coast from Vieste/Ostuni/Peschici (Foggia province) to Bari/Polignano/Alberobello (Bari province) to Otranto/Lecce (Lecce province). All these town and cities are wonderful 😉
Great end with the old man talks in dialect.... 👍 (sorry for my english )
Wish we could have understand him!! Thanks so much for letting us know. And your English is fine :)
if you come to Bari another time do not forget to taste" potatoes rice and mussels"(we use call it : La teglia)
It's one of our flags such as focaccia or orecchiette e rape.
We've got a lot of flags 😄🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

What was the name of the BnB you stayed at, and would you recommend it?
100% recommend it. We LOVED it!! Just keep in mind, you have to walk like 10-15 mins to the center, but we LOVED the location anyways! Here's the link in case you need it: www.airbnb.com/rooms/588240303100318433?source_impression_id=p3_1654707212_ZCgMNd3hETWRvAA4

Oh stop it, that sounds AMAZING 😍 The good thing is that we're going back to Italy later this year, so we will be giving it a try hahaha SO GOOD! Thanks for the tip!

Dare to add 2 or 3 flavours of gelato on a cone 😅

Panzerotti yum foccaccia yum
Italia buenisimo
Italia es lo MAXIMO! 🇮🇹
Orechietta means small ear (the shape)
I believe focaccia and panzerotti are from Bari
So good 🤤
I'm visiting Bari next week with my kids. How's the level of tourists vs locals? Do the socailmediapeople keep a low profile or will I feel like an extra in a movie? I don't like uncalled attention.
Where did you stay?
Iluv u guys😂
😘❤️
Matera>
Thanks!!! I think we will visit later this year 🤞🏼🇮🇹
Beautiful video...can people of Bari communicate in English?
It really depends, the younger people typically speak better English - but from our experience I wouldn't say that it's super common.
❤❤❤❤
❤️
Been there
Amazing!
@@waysoftheworld_ going back in July can't wait
only thing i undestood at end was someone saying "50 pressure", they were speaking dialect. need someone from Bari or nearby to translate
thanks so much for trying! We had no idea about the dialects. Definitely going to look into this to learn more about it :)
“Barinese” is the dialect @theitalyguy talks briefly about it in his visit to Bari as well.
Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Sorry audio at beginning was bad so didn’t finish
No worries. We've had many many issues with our audio since the beginning of our channel. Trying to learn and get better with our newer videos, but this one wasn't one of them. We understand :( Basically, Bari is awesome and you will eat a lot of good food 😂
Take me with u ❤
Uderrated City for Some. Not for me , Northen Italian (Veneto). BARI Is Regional Capital Apulia . Southern East Beauy and Historical , Ancient City built in Rock. Food Is Natural food.
Bari is amazing, yes ❤️
fisarmonica e mandolini 😐
wonderful just seeking some hot pulgiane greetings from boston
Puglia is awesome! We want to go back this year :)
I wanna move to Puglia i hate usa
Puglia is amazing! We hope you get to go ❤️
I am not sure what you are talking about, in Rome there are plenty of fantastic places to eat, just do your homework and avoid tourist traps as in every touristic city large or small, but to say that in Rome food is a disaster it's just ridiculous
That gesture with two hands it's not italian. It means nothing. With an hand, on the contrary, it's a very rude gesture, meaning: "What do you want!?!! It's a gesture of defiance. Never use it! This turns Italy into a caricature. Like the mandolins in the background music.
Not the intention at all, we love Italy! But thanks for letting us know :)
@@waysoftheworld_ We know it! It's Hollywood fault :-) Don Vito Corleone greets you.
Exactly, Giorgio. I was thinking the exact same thing. A very rude gesture to make.
