Sir completed the lecture. As usual it was a great one but sir there are few aspects which u haven't covered and which were asked in previous years of upsc cse exam like views on DOL by Marx v/s Durkheim, Criticism of DOL (relevance of DOL in present day context was asked), difference between Anomie in Merton and Durkheim, difference between theory of alienation of marx and theory of anomie of Durkheim. Thank you sir. Please help.

Mechanical solidarity within one particular occupation and organic solidarity among various occupations?
They are society specific and not occupation specific.... Simple society (mechanical solidarity) and complex society (organic solidarity).
Sir individualism is all due to occupational differentation

Sir how to make notes from videos? Sir I understand in video but when I do revision it becomes hard.
One thing that you could do is to test your penmanship... Once you have understood everything, there is an opportunity for you to be creative, write in your own words what you have understood, be creative while doing it.... It will ensure that you are able to represent on paper what you have understood, it will be a kind of answer writing practice for you...once you do this, test series will feel like a cakewalk.. Don't be concerned about the no. of pages, words, long paragraphs... Let the words flow smoothly from your sword (pen) on the canvas (your paper)... Be an artist, be creative.. Enjoy the process.... Once you do this, you will be having your own unique notes which will set you apart from others.... After this while revising these notes, I want you to reduce these notes to micro-notes (1 A4 sheet one topic)
Caution- Being creative doesn't mean that you have to write flowery and difficult to understand language... Let the sentences be as simple as possible infused with diagrams, flowcharts, sociological keywords and sociologists.

Difference unke DOL k concepts mai ata hai. Baqi dono funtionlist hain..
Sir Siri belief aur sentiments similar hone se solidarity aa Jyage or Baki social facts ka bhe similar hona necessary ha like religion occupation family..
Collective beliefs and sentiments are due to Common Cultural values and norms which implies that institutions like Religion, Family and Occupational Structure will be shaped in terms of these common values and norms!!

Notes of these lectures and multiple revisions and broad interlinkages between different topics... This should be your core concern.... However, you could engage in leisure reading of Haralambos and that too very selectively (may be 30% of it)!!

When durkheim said that "society predates individual"
Here individual does not mean human beings
Here individual means thinking in their own way (freedom of thinking) he is not bound by collective conscience...
Am I right sir ....????
Individual means who has the capability to think or reason and not mere species... That's possible when Men live in organised communities or societies..... Mead argues the same thing that society predates the development of mind... For eg. most important to development of mind is language which is possible only when we live in societies!!
