It is an amazing interpretation. One of the best I had ever heard. For me every single note is in place and the rubato is all of my test. Very well done. Malta
this was absolutely terrific, i love how much he gets into it, iv never seen a more emotional performance. iv listened to countless recordings of this piece... this was the best in my opinion.
with this superb interpretation.....the best so far....how will I be able to play this piece with justice!!!!wish I am a genius like him...but no regret....listening to this video is equally gratifying!!!!!!this is kind of Da Vinci's Last supper!!! thanks Joo young Oh and kreisler... now violin music has a place in this world!!
Love your energy and confidence, because it's not just about technical ability. Your agressive but controlled style of playing evokes all sorts of emotions I cannot even put into words. If I could reach HALF of your abilities before I die, I'll die happy :-)
This piece will be classic as it is and will remain the best of the best interpretations you may consider........he has the most creative mind and warmest heart and soul as to interpreting a masterpiece!!!some do it for fame...but he is just but a real artist!!!!Genius he is!!!!never mind some flaws but the flash of energy is so direct and powerful!!!more than excellent...perfect musicality!!!
I don't really care what counts, skill, maturity, fame... but THIS got to be best performance ever. I can watch this over and over all day. so passionate!
Mr. Oh Joo-Young's Praeludium and Allegro performance is "sonorically electrifying". I feel that his general approach to violin-playing is very sonoric (i.e. Chopin-esque) yet he understands how to uniquely accentuate certain passages to draw a passionate voice out of his instrument.
I have the Joshua Bell's Kreisler album on cd and on my iPod but I still find myself going through the trouble to come back to this video and listen. Love his interpretation and character
this going out to the world this music touches people though childhood orchestra is long over it is the passion for musical technicality and arrangement that makes me fall in love with these compositions over and over again this is so high in the spirit that it doesn't matte whether it is popular or not like rap or pop music this music always makes my day!!!!!
Between the open E section and the double stops, this piece has given me a lot to work on. It's all worth it when you finally get it right. But then you find out it's done faster, and you slowly die inside..
Oh, my God.... I've seen his live performance before but wow....this is just breathtaking. He has this celestial talent that none other has. I wish I could play like that...feel so sorry for my violin.
Modern violinist, as opposed to my aforementioned greats except Hahn, who brings yet another unique style to the world of great violinist, who was trained in the same line of esoteric methodology, now performing for us music with a near perfect technic, leaving us to enjoy it or critic it positively with respect for his level of achievment. Therefore i think Negative comments can only be personal tastes rather than crass judgements which criticize his interpretationform or form .hope thishelps.
I've listened to a number of recordings of this piece (pianist actually, accompanying a violinist on this). Of all of them, including Perlman's, I've found this to be the most moving and memorable. Some interesting interpretations, but that's what makes it, well, interesting. So many robotic performances, but this one is an exception to the rule.
I apologize for my comment. I didn't realize it would get this much hate. After 5 months. As a fellow violinist I have learned to appreciate more and more artists. Have a good day.
I agree 100% it was amazing, i heard perlman's performance, it didn't seem to have the same emotions or intensity that his had. But what do I know, I'm still learning
for this piece, my opinion is that the best player of this piece is Itzhak Perlman..he really plays awesome this piece..the reason of this comment is Joo play as good as Itzhak..great job buddy ;)
cant stop listening to this guy,,,,,so unique an interpretation! did he went to Julliard...who's his teacher? Kyung Wha chung? or Dorothy......whoever..he is a superstar!
I love Vengerov, too. I got to see his performance last month. But Vengerov got the deserved fame while Joo Young Oh didn't for some reason. He really deserve more recogntion.
this interpretation combined with the skill to perform blows me away. listened to this piece too many times from too many people... by far jooyoung has produced the most amazing result. closest to perfection, no offense to perlman.
this is still the best....amazing,,,,,
i love how he clearly makes it his own (superb) interpretation without altering what the piece itself has to say
the best verson of this piece.
It is an amazing interpretation. One of the best I had ever heard. For me every single note is in place and the rubato is all of my test. Very well done.
Malta
oh wow. this is by far the best version on youtube.
I know right! And I have to play this:O
Amazing. My favorite interpretation. Thanks!!

I love the sound in the beginning where it starts out with quarter notes.
Love your energy and confidence, because it's not just about technical ability. Your agressive but controlled style of playing evokes all sorts of emotions I cannot even put into words. If I could reach HALF of your abilities before I die, I'll die happy :-)
I have heard so many interpretations of this but I think this is the most beautiful.
It's not often you see such power and body language that's actually adds to the music and makes sense, let me tell you. BRAVO!
the words over the top come to mind when i watch this guy...
wow............
I just finished learning this piece, but while learning it, this was such a helper.
He should be so much more famous!!!!
So much passion
too fast and not even fluid
@@lyrilljackson its not meant to be such rigid, you can use a lot of rubato here
look at him attack those double stops! fierce and aggresive! throughout the whole piece! damn this player is talented!
This piece will be classic as it is and will remain the best of the best interpretations you may consider........he has the most creative mind and warmest heart and soul as to interpreting a masterpiece!!!some do it for fame...but he is just but a real artist!!!!Genius he is!!!!never mind some flaws but the flash of energy is so direct and powerful!!!more than excellent...perfect musicality!!!
i could listen to this forever

ITS NOT A SONG !!!!@@@
He's far from the best violinist in the world.
I have yet to hear an interpretation of this piece with as much emotion and passion put into it as this violinist here does. Very well done, AWESOME!
I don't really care what counts, skill, maturity, fame... but THIS got to be best performance ever. I can watch this over and over all day. so passionate!

Wow ❤️ Extremely emotional, theatrical, but not at the expense of the technique. BRAVO!
No one draws you in like him. He should be a superstar! Someone discover him, please!

hooooly smokes. definitive interpretation. at 4:40 he takes this piece to a level i haven't heard before. bravissimo. perlman doesn't come close.

This is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see his performance in NY in December.
I love Vengerov, too. I got to see his performance last month. But Vengerov got the deserved fame while Joo Young Oh didn't for some reason. He really deserve more recogntion.
He is my favourite fiddler
Still the best rendition I've heard. Golf clap.
The double stop is crazy
