We live in California and my son went to our nearest cannabis dispensary yesterday, Wednesday, March 25, and it took one hour and 20 minutes from arrival to checkout because the line was SO LONG! It took an hour just to get in the door! They were only allowing three customers at a time on the sales floor, and only two in the reception area. I'm not going to lie, things here are weird. I have chronic bronchitis and so it would be very dangerous for me to contract COVID-19. I'm doing the best I can by staying home. I've not gone out since my monthly medical appointment on the sixth. The only thing I have scheduled at this point are two medical appointments at the end of next week. My healthy 34 year-old son has been doing all the supply runs for everything. Groceries are kind of challenging. If you need milk you may not get your "normal" milk because they may have only whole milk, or only non-fat milk. Everything is kind of like that. Stores now have all sorts of purchase limits like one package of toilet paper or bottle of hand sanitizer per customer. He says that people in the stores are trying to keep social distancing as best they can and many are wearing masks and rubber gloves. The only clusters of people seem to be couples or roommates and even they are unusual. Most people are just one person, head-down, getting what they can and getting back to the safety of their cars as quickly as possible. Public transportation is completely shut down. Streets and highways are wide open with delivery drivers being the majority of the traffic. I've also been thinking somewhere in the back of my mind about this pandemic being a sort of global "re-set." Things have been crazy in the whole world for this entire century, so far. Since 9/11 I have sorted things as "pre-9/11" and "post-9/11" because it truly was a world changing event. Now it will be pre-CV19 and post-CV19. Disaster after disaster-- financial disasters, political disasters, weather disasters, geological disasters, environmental disasters, social disasters, diplomatic disasters (AKA wars,) ecological disasters-- and it just goes on, and on, and on. Worse, a lot of it is man-made! My family has been under either evacuation or shelter in place orders four times in three years! Now the whole world has been forced to FINALLY stop to take a deep breath-- only that breath is spiked with a potentially deadly virus. Huzzah, for the human race and its ability to heed the warning signs and act on them in time! /end sarcasm
Just started working at home, finally. I was getting nervous going out to work. I'm glad they are letting me work remotely. My son is sort of used to allowing people to work as his dad works from home at least once a week though now he is working from home every day. The problem is we're meant to be "homeschooling" him but how are we supposed to do that??? First off, we're at work, secondly he has autism and ADHD so he requires lots of specialized services!
spleengrrrl were facing the same. My wife lost her part time job and is home schooling Isaac, if you can call Live Disney Performances home schooling haha. He has been doing jig saws and number recognition so it’s not all fun (it’s is) He just doesn’t understand that we can’t go places.
We are in Helston Cornwall and our local Tesco is letting the most 3 at a time in it was a bit of a nightmare Police are also stopping random cars to see where they are going and stopping cars coming in some places and out.
