The title: "The Real Reason China Developed The Tiangong Space Station!" --> They are banned from the International Space Station and programs, so it took them a long time, but there is no surprise they had to build their own space station, launch pads, rocket tech, and space ships, etc.
So, they built it, because no one else was going to help them build it. That is why they built it.
they build it because China always tries to copy everything the US does.
@@usafshorts China is contracted in this world to build 99% of all products on earth at the moment. Apple wants China to make their Iphones. Many of Tesla's parts are from China. It doesn't make sense, they make everything.

Historically, China was the most developed country in the world until the industrial revolution in the West. Back then, the ruling government in China had adopted centuries of closed-door policy. As a result, the Opium War broke out and knocked on China's door. After that, the Eight-Power Allied Forces invaded China and looted a lot of treasures and property. Not only that, China also compensated hundreds of millions of taels of gold and silver, and forced the lease of land including Hong Kong and Macau. The root cause of its failure is not only government corruption, but also technological backwardness. Cold weapons against hot weapons, bows and arrows against cannons, the Chinese army who was surprised by the hot weapons suffered heavy casualties. If you fall behind, you will be beaten. China has learned this profound historical lesson, so since the founding of the People's Republic of China, except for the dark era of the Cultural Revolution, the development of science and technology has been given priority. Today, the United States seems to be going a step further, building high walls in all aspects, using unfair competition methods, and doing everything possible to artificially hinder international scientific and technological exchanges and development, and slow down the development of human civilization. However, history has proved that this hysterical approach may slow down China's pace in the short term, but it cannot stop China's technological progress in the medium and long term. Don't assume that the scientific community in other countries supports the US approach. This kind of coercion may work in the short term, and scientists dare not speak out. But once China breaks the blockade, the United States will be left behind.
Well said.
In short, China should thank the United States for preventing China from joining the International Space Station, and thank the United States for the Wolfe Clause, otherwise, China would not have an autonomous space station.
At the end of this year, China will complete the construction of the space station. The Chinese National Aeronautics and Space Administration has announced that the Chinese space station is open to all countries in the world (now 17 countries have participated), of course, the United States is the only exception.
HHaha a middle finger to the bully 🖕🏼
Given China's history, they're probably encouraging collaboration so they can steal everyone else's tech.
lol
I hope some european astronauts come to visit tiangong and ESA cooperate also with chinese
it's the Wolf Amendment vice Wolfe Clause.
So, according to this video, the reasons China developed a hyper expensive space station are:
1. Being cool
2. Revenge the ISS ban
How about legitimate desire of space exploration? Chinese are curious about space just like everyone else.
The Chinese stubbornly believe that a very important reason for China's backwardness in the past two centuries is that they missed the Industrial Revolution. So, when it comes to emerging technologies, they don't want to repeat the same mistakes. At the same time, for high-tech research, many revolutionary technologies will be produced, which will have many positive impacts on the development of society.
3. They are using it as a military platform. It's no coincidence that we now have the Space Force. Screw the CCP, they stole all of that tech. Little shits can't innovate anything on their own. I hope we blow that thing out of the sky.

Does it say something that only a Consortium of Western Nations could build a space station, but China built one all by themselves.
Your assumption is incorrect unless you're ignoring Skylab for some other reason. The ISS wasn't a competition, it was cooperation, something China is not so good at. Which is part of the reason Obama kicked them off the ISS. The other was China's slave labor.

Nice work. This might be the best video which provides the most precise information regarding Tiangong Space Station. However there is one major thing missed in the video. Wentian Lab Module not only provides many more racks for experiments, but also functions as a full copy of the core module, including providing navigation/control/sustainable living environment etc. This means all major functionalities of the core module have a backup now. According to Chinese media, many functionalities are switched from core module to Wentian module so that the core module is working in a backup mode, and also the taikonauts are living in Wentian module instead of core module now.

It is not good that Communist China is doing this. Communist China is a big bully in its surroding region, ask Vietnam, Philillipines, Taiwain, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, etc. China steals intellectual information from foreign countries, that is why China was able to built such space stations and satellites, and various military machineries. Communist China is bad for the world peace, as they are allies with Russia and North Korea.
It looks to me that Tiangong is better designed and more modern then ISS. Well done , China !
Oh that does make sense considered the ISS is over 20 years old and this station's brand new. That should be a no-brainer.
DUH switch shoes and see what would happen. C'mon man 🤭
it should be noted that the robotic arm is not required to move the module around, the video show the arm doing it as a backup if the core module has issue with it machinery, the robotic arm can take over the mission, but it was never designed to required the arm to purpose the repositioning of the module. instead the robotic arm will be use to reposition the solar panel to the other module of the station so they will not be obstructed by new module.
China actually has a 2nd set of module available as backup, so they can double the station size by launching the backup module if there is a demand for it.
what is also interesting is because there are 6 bed in 2 module, CNSA never assign the astronaut where which bed to use, so one of the astronaut could potentially turn Mengtian into a private bedroom while the rest of the crew stay in the Tianhe. all 3 crew would however be ask to try sleeping in Mengtian for evaluation reasons, they want to know how much more noiser Mengtian is compare to Tianhe, as Tianhe has it reaction wheel installed externally so they don't create noise internally while Mengtian has it reaction wheel installed internally so the crew can access them. this will probably inform CNSA if they can get away with installing them internally for easier maintenance.
China doesn't need to justify their presence in outer space. If they can do it...they should. Kudos
It is a well designed station. That movable arm is brilliant. The interior is modern and to have private cabins for the crew, wonderful.
the arm is a knock off canad'arm 1 and 2
your toilet paper must be a knock off of Chinese paper too
The Robotic arm on the ISS can detach and reattach itself around the station as well.
"It is self-relocatable and can move end-over-end to reach many parts of the Space Station in an inchworm-like movement."
@@EricSoulliage The Canada arm moving on a fixed track, it does not walk like the Chinese arm does, the Chinese arm borrowed some elements from the Canadian arm for sure, but the reason why people think the Chinese arm is cool is precisely because it walks.

Dude, everyone copies ideas and tech. It's not just China.
All successful countries copy what works in the leading countries.
Dr. Michael Pillsbury pretends as if China’s copying of US technology for forty years was some kind of deception or was in some way unique.
In 1812, American Francis Cabot Lowell was a leading Boston merchant who imported a great deal of British cloth and had solid relations with his British counterparts. He toured British cotton plants. Lowells’ bags were searched for stolen designs for power textile weaving machinery. This was a serious crime in England. Lowell memorized the designs. Americans were also desperate to replicate Britain’s famed Sheffield steel which was the best in the world. But the best Sheffield craftsmen the United States could buy failed to replicate it.
Capitalism in its modern form was first developed in the Netherlands and England in the sixteenth to seventeenth centuries.
The Japanese knew that they were behind the Western world when American Commodore Matthew C. Perry came to Japan in 1853 in large warships with armament and technology that far outclassed those of Japan with the intent to conclude a treaty that would open up Japanese ports to trade. Japan threw open its doors to foreign technology and copied other successful aspects of the western countries. After WW2, Japan resumed copying and gained success in electronics and cars.
China fell behind and stayed behind for 100 years because China closed itself to Western innovation and technology. Lack of copying doomed China to fall behind for decades. Parts of what was China that started copying first had more success. Hong Kong and Taiwan opened up and copied starting in 1950.
Taiwan and South Korea followed Japan by copying US technology. Taiwan and South Korea also had student study in the USA and Europe and many returned to their home countries and were critical in the success of building up the major technology companies.
Why would Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea be able to succeed and copy technology and build industries and China not be able to succeed and copy?
Because the west would use any excuse to criticize a communist party, so anything China does can be spun negatively against them. The western narrative is so repetitive and predictable. I just hope China has enough patience with the west and not fight back too early, it would mean doom for everyone.

Great overview, very thorough research and overview, with clips from some of the bedr sources and channels on YT, like reach and dongfeng hour.
However I feel like you should have mentioned that tiangong(tianhe module) is propelled by both chemical and 4 Hall effect ion thrusters, which are used to adjust and maintain the stations orbit.
Instead of needing 4tons of rocket fuel to keep the ISS in orbit every year, it would only need 400kg to stay in orbit for the same amount of time. Much more efficient.
For comparison a trip to mars can be cut from 8 months to just 39 days.
According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the ion drive used on tiangong has burned continuously for 8,240 hours(11 months) without a glitch, indicating that it was suitable for the space stations 15 year life
expectancy.
It is the worlds first and only Hall effect ion thrusters on a human rated mission, showing a level of confidence and maturity in the tech.
It can theoretically be used for other human rated missions, like to Mars and beyond..
It's cool as fuck IMO and seldom mentioned. Dunno why, since like I said, it's cool as fuck and the only human rated ion thrusters ever, and it's in use currently.

Velcro wears out quicker than loops?
nice work , but I have 1 question why LEO orbit and not geosat ? long march 5 can't get to LEO ? I doubt it since they send payload further already
There are good reasons they wouldn't just add another copy of the existing modules. For one thing, any KSP player knows about the "wobbling" problem, and this station probably didn't waste a lot of weight to strengthen the rigidity beyond what they need. For another, more mass in terms of modules also means the station needs more consumables. Especially to correct the orbit or to change its attitude.
Yep. So 12 SASs in each module can save 70% fuel for "wobbling" problem.
I do hope you understand in space these is no turblance so wobbling wouldnt be an issuse

nah, the research on the station are already registered in the UN, there is no need to separate it. furthermore China need to gain alot of experience from season space engineer with 500 days space experience. and the best way to gain that is to have foreign astronaut working side by side with the chinese astronaut to learn the best practises. what you are suggesting would restrict the speed of knowledge transfer. it make no sense.
@@lagrangewei It makes sense when you factor-in the US's great concern of providing China with advance technologies, e.g chips, when US friendly nations start engaging China in Space science. In addition to CHIP4, the USA could possibly initiate Space -6 - meaning demanding 16 nations (mostly close US allies) refrain from co-operating with China on State of the Art science / technology related to Space. For all we know, all "foreign" astronauts / scientists / researches / advance space projects may have to be approved by the US's NASA to ascertain the level of scientific space technologies China could gain access to, assuming these foreign astronauts use a certain degree of US-owned software / equipment / space-related fundings.
@@donhuang9855 you have to be joking if you think US actually did this out of concern of tech. they didn't they do it to block China from having a market, even if you separate the station, US will still say it is a chinese station and ban it if they want to, that is not going to change anything. beside, chinese equipment are already on the ISS because ESA bought the equipment from China, US can't do anything. so there is no advntage ins trying to self-isolation, they won't accept yourself isolation, and they can't control it anyway.

Awesome video! Well done! 👍
One reason why most Americans don't pay attention to Chinese space news is that the CNSA is nowhere near as transparent as NASA, SpaceX, ESA, etc. JAXA is transparent, but not in English, so it's likewise not super well known. Following the Chinese space station for the past couple years has been very difficult, even with a lot of effort, because there's just so little information put out until after the fact, and even then, it's limited.
there are a lot news/updates in Chinese online communities, in Chinese.
There's a lot of news, western newspapers just chose not to report it. The opacity comes from your own media, not China.
Very informative. Thank you
I feel like the United States is behind behind in the space race
China explores space according to its own needs. There is no space race, but the United States unilaterally thinks so
By what metric?
after US passed a bill rejecting china of the ISS, now the USA insisted to be part of the chinese space station..Reaaallyyyy?..how stupid was that?😂
Thank you ,incredibly interesting and obviously extremely hard to obtain up to date information such as this . Well done looking forward to your next video but I’m just an ignorant kiwi fan
Thanks for good stuff.
By the way, in Chinese, 问天 is asking the sky/heaven, not heavenly quest
Thank you for pointing that, you are right
Could be translated as “heavenly request” or “a request to heaven”
Good video....👌...Nicely explained. 🤝
China will lead the world in all technology very soon.
I would be very surprised if that's the case tbh
Nope only leading in stealing it from everyone else the Chinese economy will collapse soon anyway do to there 0 COVID policy and manipulated economic system.
As soon as they can build their own factory machines; Germany supplies them with precision manufacturing machines that they can't hack on their own, wire forming, sheet metal stamping, etc. Look at any Chinese or Russian factory and pay attention to the controls and the tool manufactures
They need to survive their financial crisis first. But if anyone could do it, it's china.
China's strongest skill is copying other technology
Not space race but space technology research and advancement. We are one global family for the benefits of all that live on earth and across the Universe. Cooperation is better than hate politics and ugly competition
Bravo China. Long live Pakistan-China Iron brothers.
Where would you rank space x with china?
Great video again
The Chinese ought to thanks for the motivation from the American who rejected the Chinese's participation in ISS. Big mistake made by USA hagemony.
In the same situation, other countries may not be able to do this, which requires efforts and capabilities.
America is doing the same thing in semiconductor chips, they just never learn.
great work
Which module will be used to test all their space weaapons?
All of them, come and get it.
I think this is a learning exercise for future weapons development. This way it doesn’t seem threatening. ISS same story.
@@goukux5908 The ISS doesn't serve any military value. Not even in secret. Too many partners and too many eyes to keep such secrets. Better take a look at the X-37b
Ah.. the envious Indian trolls have arrived. 🙄
Great video! Thanks!
