The Great Johnny Winters. This guy was an American treasure. The real deal as far as raw original creative talent as improvisor, performer, comedian, painter - No one is a close 2nd.
Jonathan Winters can crack me up without saying a word.Just his facial expressions are priceless...but when he talks, the tears are rolling down my cheeks. There will never be another like him.
I love Jonathan Winters so much, may his legacy and his humor and his wit and his ability to make the World laugh live on forever ❤️😘 Truly an exceptional man 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
JB24 I know Williams idolized Winters, but I think Williams and Winters have completely different styles of comedy. Winters is the best comedic story teller that ever lived, no one ever better. Williams was far more physical and spontaneous and flew by the seat of his pants and was incredible also. Both were brilliant and funny. I prefer Winters style over Williams but Robin was fantastic.
@@J.B24 Yes. Only because Jonathan did not use cuss words & vulgarities, so if one wants to bring up a child (God forbid) without being influenced by such things, we have Jonathan Winters to go to. Jonathan was just pure fun and innocence, & class. Robin, used F bombs & jokes about drugs. Having said that, I think Robin danced circles around Jonathan in terms of quickness. He was super sharp, comedic mind like a steel trap.
Jonathan Winters, pure comedic genius, great timing, lots of funny facial expressions to sell the stories. Would have been an absolute treasure to have had him as a neighbor and a friend. Just a great and brilliant comedian!
I'm 70 years old now and I remember buying the Jonathan Winters comedy records and laughing myself silly Jonathan is just another incredible example that the best is not yet to come it's already been here and gone!
You have to watch all the Dean Martin roasts and the old Johnny Carson shows where Jonathan as on to appreciate his incredible character and so funny he cracks you up and everyone else in the room. Best off the cuff, improv, ad lib comedian, who didn't resort to vulgarity, crudness and cussing to be hilarious.
I ran into Mr. Winters outside of an antique store in Cambria, CA some years back. He was in a car with a driver, but not looking well. We met eyes, I nodded and gave him a thumbs up, not wanting to bother him. He gave me a nod back. It was a nice interaction.
Awesome! That narrow window (to me) where Jonathan seemed gone from the public eye for quite a while, yet here, he still looks totally lucid and mobile in (2004?). It wasn't much longer after that he seemed to age quite a bit, and arthritis knocked the snot out of him. He died in 2013. What a class act from my childhood to never be replaced.
No swearing , no shocking, or trying to out fuck bomb the other guy..just plain funny stuff.his roast of Johnny Carson on the Dean Martin roast, is of genious quality !!
I can't even stop laughing about "this is called A New Member" - that is ridiculously hilarious - I've seen a lot of great and weird art pieces in my life, but that is just hilarious and excellent
I really liked Jonathan Winters. He was a very funny guy and good actor. My personal favorite is Mr. Winters in a twilight zone episode playing a pool shark to come back from the dead to play the current champ, played by Jack Klugman. Its definitely my favorite twilight zone. Its called A Game of Pool.
“This is called a new member “. 😂 What a genius! Last summer we watched the movie “it’s a mad mad mad world “ and boy, what a fun we’ve had watching it.
John Stewart, take each of the words with which you describe Jimmy and apply them to yourself and that would be pure truth...We need more like Jimmy to entertain us ...Love Jonathan Winters too !!!
You must have a crush on Kimmel cuz this is the second comment where you're praising this moron. And by the way you are the only person on here I've seen that likes Kimmel, so that tells you what we think of your opinion!
just to clarify in "A game of pool" Jonathan W. is one of 2 characters. He plays a departed pool legend, basically, a Minnesota Fats type...whoever said he wasn't in it must have watched the wrong episode.
Every time I see Johnny Winters, especially in each and every interview with Johnny Carson, he always brings me back to mad, mad, mad, world!❤️👍

I love listening to him when he's being funny but I am infatuated when he's being mostly real. What a fantastic talent.
I love Jonathan Winters so much, may his legacy and his humor and his wit and his ability to make the World laugh live on forever ❤️😘 Truly an exceptional man 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
we never get bored watching him over and over again.
Jonathan Winters was the funniest man ever in my humble opinion. A true Comic genius if there ever was one.
Even better than Robin Williams?
JB24 I know Williams idolized Winters, but I think Williams and Winters have completely different styles of comedy. Winters is the best comedic story teller that ever lived, no one ever better. @@greenwich1754 Generational difference. Both the funniest of their generation.
The best attribute of Jonathan, apart from his humor, is his humility. Not a show boat, just a gentle soul.
So true!
I like when he Growls
As much as I love Jonathan Winters, I hate this Kimmel asshole too much to watch this through.
@@yankee2666 Get over it.....missed so much.
There never was, nor will there ever be, a comedian as funny or as appealing as Jonathan Winters!
One of Winters best fans was Robin Williams, and who didn't love him.
Jonathan...you were so talented...and incredible...love you xxx (:-)
JOHNATHAN WINTERS WAS TRULY GOLDEN. A FUNNY INTENENCE HUMAN BEING.
Jonathan Winters, pure comedic genius, great timing, lots of funny facial expressions to sell the stories. Would have been an absolute treasure to have had him as a neighbor and a friend. Just a great and brilliant comedian!
Jonathan Winter will have you on the floor. He was incomparable.

EVERYBODY LOVED THIS GUY HE WAS A COMEDY GENIUS...............MISS HIM
His paintings are awesome!
Great writer, great actor, great painter. Very modest. Rip, oh great one
True comedic genius has but one face .. and Jonathon Winters owned it ...
And yet like Robin Williams, Jonathan had so many faces.
You have to watch all the Dean Martin roasts and the old Johnny Carson shows where Jonathan as on to appreciate his incredible character and so funny he cracks you up and everyone else in the room. ... and the Dean Martin Show (which preceded the Roasts) as well as Jack Paar.
I'm enjoying everything I can find with him in it. He was a talented man
Ah, Jonathan Winters a true comedian and more, much more!!!
The man who made Johnny Carson laugh so hard he couldn't stop. Funniest man in the world. Period.

Marty Howe talent like his is now nonexistent!
After his wife died he went downhill pretty quick. When you're married as long as many of the greats were, losing your better half takes its toll.

Not many touch my heart like Jonathan...🤗
At any time, Jonathan Winters' jokes could melt our stress away. A gifted comedian.
RIP. Loved you when you were on the radio in Dayton. God bless.
I miss this guy so much. That self effacing humor of his was the best and you never see that anymore today. Too many narcissists in comedy.
No swearing , no shocking, or trying to out fuck bomb the other guy..just plain funny stuff.his roast of Johnny Carson on the Dean Martin roast, is of genious quality !!
I watch a documentary of him older and he was such a sweet man, loved him so much as a kid, was the first comedian I followed.
Those Fishing sticks, of dynamite, are called 'Lithuanian Flyrods...but they are always 1/2 or 1/4 size. I HAVE used the latter on occasion.
Excellent painter 🎨 👏
Truly one of the greatest
A new member,too funny
I love it
Jonathan and Rodney...my two favorites of all time! Jonathan was very humble, and ROD-ney was totally self-deprecating.
We'll never see the likes of him again that's for dang sure !
Oh I love his art too ☺️
When comedy was funny. Jonathan Winters never failed to have me in stitches. So great!
always delightful.

Jonathon is brilliant. So funny. Glad he liked Jimmy. Only started watching Jonathon this year. RIP
I loved the truck driver character in mad mad mad mad world. Where Phil silver's drove off and left him on the bicycle in the desert
Love him always
I've got several of his albums, many laughs; nothing like him......jn
Winters and Conway are two whose performances I can watch time and again and never fail to laugh even if I have seen the routines numerous times.
Sad to see all the great comedians pass away...😢☹️
I'm still here! I'll be here all week
A wonderful man
Winters William's and Jackie Gleason...3 of the most gifted comedians ever!
th-cam.com/video/_NqEKvk9F4I/w-d-xo.html
IMHO Robin Williams was a fake. Doesn't belong with Jackie Gleason and Jonathan Winters.
One of the funniest!
One of the half dozen or so true comic geniuses.
comedic genius, quick witted and is 5 moves ahead of most comedians, robin williams idolized him, both beyond brilliant

A legend.
TRES Cool
Don't know how old Winters was during this interview, but you can tell he's slowed down. When this man was in his prime he was the best. Thanks
Some might say there's a fine line between genius and insanity 🤣 This man was one of the most talented/funniest people ever to live ✌️😎
That was effortless comedy. Great stuff...
"New member", that is Jonathan Winters' humor.
Best ever
A comic genius, like no other😄😄
Excelent paintings !
A Mad Mad Mad Mad Winters. I'll keep my fingers crossed. And my legs. And my eyes.
LEGEND 💯👌🔥🔥🔥
"She'd seen Song of Bernadette" Hilarious but hardly anybody got it.
Winters, Carson, Williams the list is short of true good comic genius.
Delete Williams. Not in the class of Jonathan Winters.
Thank you, Dayton, Ohio. "All those hot sweaty women in the kitchen" from his first LP.

OK if you look at his paintings and hear his descriptions you can see what a true genius he was.
