Geats is my favourite due to how basic and effective the belt is. Not only that, the henshin sequences feel like something from a very futuristic military
Also, Tycoon with his creative used of the mechanics arm to create the momentum to lauch him forward in few fight scenes (specially when he first used Ninja). Granted, the Henshin sequence has the protection mechanism all the time, but I love when fighter took advanced of the henshin mechanics to give themselves the upper hand. The same with the spins transform sequence in Boukenger.
1)Double’s Hensin is a favorite of mine because Philip and Shotaro whenever then Henshin their hands will always form a W 2)OOO having the power to mix and match all core metals to face off the greeds 3)kamen rider Black, whenever he Henshins I feel like he’s at his anger point because of how tight he clenches his fist then he goes and henshins from there
my favorite part of a henshin is its henshin pose, it adds so much personality to a sequence, my favorites are quick ones that are easy, like gotchards, but there are some that are so insane i love them, like tycoons
One of my favorites henshins is Blade; the simplicity and complexity of the sequence are so amazing. The fact that the transformation protects the rider and attacks the enemy the same time is so cool. The fact Kenzaki and the Tachibana need to run to get the power is cool, showing they are choosing to face the danger, the power goes to Mutsuki to showing Destiny and the dark influence of the category ace that has chosen him, and when later the series surpasses the ace,, he is calling the power. Hajime is the one is different when he became chalice, the water effect is showing he's unleashing his power, but when he becomes again Hajime he walks to his card, showing he wants the weakness of being human. He decided to try to feel emotions.
Kamen Rider W's Henshin is my favorite as it's Versatile and as Shotaro would put it "Hard Boiled" Top it off with the Catchphrase "Now Count up your Sins/Crimes" and the fact one of the Two of them Faint after the Henshin is a good Comedic side
i'd like to point out that Saber, despite having CGI heavy background during henshin scenes, are not simply stock footage. You can see that Touma's clothes are actually different and follows the scene before henshin. They actually film a new footage for the henshin.
I been watching a lot of kamen rider henshin compilation lately, I somehow missed the simplified henshin sound of earlier heisei like kabuto but not gonna lie, the ADHD inducing Reiwa henshin is fun as hell.
I always believe that the Kamen Rider series had some of the best Henshin moments for tokusatsu. Masked Rider (Black & RX), Dragon Knight, Decade, Double, gaim, drive, Ex-Aid, Geats, and Gotchard are my personal favorites
I think my favorite transformation of recent years was for Kamen Rider Amazons. The shouting of "AMAZON" in different ways, the explosion and the implication of the wall of heat just burning everything near by. Simple but effective.
Top 5 Henshins for me will always be Build, Gaim, Drive, Decade, and my favorite Ex-Aid, Honorable mention with 555 Gaim using giant fruits from a different reality unzipped, before plopping on their head, forming internal helmets before folding out into armor(ed Riders) is Genius, and i love the juicy splash visual effects to boot Build having Tubes like a literal Science Experiment is amazing, and his super form using a Compressor machine is under appreciated imo, but i esp love the Schlash Driver using Beakers before twisting and spewing the "Jelly" to form their upper torso armor 555 is definition of Clean and Simple yet super effective and still stylish, the glowing colors wrapping around bodies differently is really neat Decade is a amplified Ryuki using Afterimages, but now of all 9 Riders of Heisei Part 1 with their Symbols before forming that Blank Grey Decade, and the extra Cards getting slotted into his head looking more like a barcode, generating his Pi-Magenta is PEAK Henshin design and visuals same case for Ex-aid, using a Character Selection Screen is BLOODY FANTASTIC and i love every rider selects their forms in different ways and poses, like Snipe Hand-Shooting His or Brave choosing on the side without looking, Before Digitalizing into their forms Drives visuals using all and everything Tire related is neat, The Formed Spiral colored and patterned like tires to Mach/Chaser using Wheels thats pieced apart, showing each gear formed to make it, then make the suit itself, as my first season introduction into Rider it blew me away
My personal favorite henshin collection is Den-O's. It's subtle in how each of Den-O's forms call upon the personalities of their respective Taros Imagin while tranforming, while all still forming their armor from the same six pieces arranged in different ways (keeping track of every moving part is something I like to do in general). Sword Form's pieces swing in on curving paths before sliding into place along the suit's tracks; Momotaros is a bombastic showboat, matching the elaborate motions, while also leaning on the train design early to cement the idea. Rod Form's pieces unfold delicately before simply moving straight into place; less fuss but still elegant simplicity for the suave Urataros. Ax Form's pieces appear hovering statically in place around him and then jump and slam into their proper fit; Kintaros is strong and simple, but also a bit over the top, how fitting. Gun Form's pieces spin around to click into place; Ryutaros is always hopping, dancing, and spinning around to taunt his foes before sucker punching them with a bullet, following right off the transformation. Even Wing Form's recolor of Sword Form is unique, a new belt flying in to replace the old and without needing to touch any buttons, Sieg's role as the vainest of princes not getting his hands dirty by actually handling the equipment shining through, before the armor pieces spin down in an elaborate display of his flashy royalty and leaping on at once like a performance of Swan Lake, ending with his serenely graceful hand motions to remind you that he's your better. Even if you don't consciously register all of the details when you first watch the sequences, they'll still give you the feel for who you're about to watch fighting, and that is both brilliant and amazing.
I like decade's transformation sequence because all the rider symbols are coalescing into one Rider and there's even more when we get up to Zi-o to show how much powerful decade has become
Zero ones henshins are so satisfying, watching the rider model animals compress themselves into data and upload themselves on top of the rider's suit. My one gripe is the fact that the shotriser omits the rider model entirely for a bullet. ( With the exception of some of Fuwa's powerup forms.
I really like the themes treated in this video, but i would like even more an analisys of the poses the Riders does while henshin. I mean, for example the poses of the Ryuki Riders are a reflex of the characters himself, and that's pretty cool and i whant someone who talk about it!
Yeah, the Ryuki heshins are simple but very effective in showing each of the riders quirks. Shinji and Ren, being the main riders of the season, get to call back to the first duo. My favorite has to be Ouja for how it mimics a snake strike. Post edit: since Ryuki was my first KR, I thought his henshin pose was to symbolize a soaring dragon. I guess it still can be that and be a reference to Ichigo.
@@novateel6037 the poses that Shinji does is inspired directly by Ren, but instead of having a form like a bat wing, has a form like a dragon taking fly to save people
Same, I like how you can show a bit of their personality through their henshin sequence, things like Fuwa punching the bullet or... Masamune (?) Chronos having the Chronicles gashat float into the belt gives us a good idea on what kind of person they are
My favorites are definitely OOO, Wizard, Ghost, and Saber For OOO, I like how the symbols of the three medals he's using mash together into one symbol. For Wizard, I like their simplistic using of magical circles for the transformation. Reminds me of Magiranger. For Ghost, I like how the parka ghosts pose next to the historical figure they're based on. For Saber, I like how the essence of each wonder ride book flies around before being imbued into the rider. I also like the great use of each rider's respective element in the transformation.
Kuuga's & Agito's henshins are definitely my top favorites from the franchise because of the simplicity of it all as I prefer the more simple henshins after all if I'm being honest 👌🤣
One of the more interesting takes is when transforming creates a protective barrier or projectile that can defend the user from being interrupted by a monster attack. I think Blade might have been the first series to really "weaponize" transformations in this way.
I go for Kiva, Blade, Agito, Kuuga, Zi-O and HIBIKI. However, I hold Decade as the highlight for transformations. Kuuga and Agito lead to a simple transformations leading to groundbreaking real time transformations such as, Kiva, Den-O, HIBIKI, Ex-Aid. All the while we are blind or the ideas of how much meaning is put into the drivers for each faction in each series and we have no idea of it until its too late. As for Number 1 I always put Decade on top of the list. His parallel gimmick combine with photos not only plays into the journey aspect of the series but also as the transformation unfolds you see the sequence of parallel world figures collide onto him representing each riders icon. Once packed together is blank Decade until his horns are placed through his head not only giving flaming color but also ties into his character of being a destroyer and without him there can be no creation.
My favorite is definitely Stronger's. Cool pose, impressive practical effects, good pacing, and Shigeru Araki's amazingly over-the-top, yet believable performance that really looks like electricity is coursing through his body make it absolutely perfect in my opinion, and the epic pre-ass-kicking speech he always delivers afterwards drives the awesomeness home even further.
Kabuto still is on the top of my Rider chart. Simple and nice Henshin, the Armor and Cast Off, and he typically just does a quick 1 2 3 Rider Kick instead of all the fanfare of the later jump kicks.
Probably some of those that are great are those that have built in defense. Love it when the transformation can push back or counts as an attack like Blade or Decade
Something I really liked with Fourze, Faiz and Gaim's henshins is that the pose itself is integrated into the story. Where do Faiz, Kixa and Delta get their henshin poses? Well, it's literally right there in the manual: The belt's instructions all show the pose for the Rider. Where did Fourze get his henshin pose? Well, he was taught how to do it right before his first henshin, by a girl who was understandably very energetic. Gaim's was the best because the story of him finding the pose tied into the character arc. Kouta had trouble finding a good pose when he was just using the belt for fun and profit. But when he realized he had to use it to protect people, he immediately found the perfect pose for himself.
Mine are Zio and Revice for sure. I like the zio henshins having the clock in the back as they henshin but more specificly Woz's being a digital wrist watch and having the best jingle. With Revice it's more how the Vaistamp noises are and then each driver having its own style. From the normal revice driver and the driver used for the other characters having district differences.
1.) Black. - the pose - the sequence - the pre-rider form, Battaman - the practical effects of smoke coming out of the armor joints 2.) Kabuto 3.) Build
My favorite henshin were Shin Ichigo. He needed winds to transform, one of the rare instance where there's a requirement to do henshin. Also, manually wearing helmet is my fucking jam. G3, G3-X, G4 were also one of my favorites. My second favorite, Shin. The unique grotesque and probably painful way to henshin. Once you seen it, you'll never forget about it. My third, Henshin with stance. Not "looking cool" stance, but something like fighting stance hensin. Black, Kuuga and Agito, personally their way of henshin will always be the one I like rather than the modern henshin nowadays. I'm just not a fan of the modern digitech auto-voiced henshin. Sure they're fun, but the one I describe above will always be the best, in my opinion. Oh I haven't really explore the Showa's.
My favorite is definitely seamless henshin while on set. I really do not like the whole greenscreen/stock footage, but I understand the necessity for budget saving, especially during Saber's run
Kamen Rider hibiki is the best Kamen Rider in supernatural concept 👺👹🗡️🔥🌪️⚡☄️☄️ Soo much perfect series ihope into reboot a, like shin Ichigo movie or reboot series this year ☄️♎👹☄️☄️🐉🌿☄️ please...?
It used to be simple, then it’s get more elaborated with the cgi sequence and more complicated with the gimmick add on. They can’t even pretend the transformation sequence is for viewers and they’re actually instant morph in real time like gavan.
I'm not gonna lie, the seamless henshin was what first drew me into kamen rider dragon knight, which then pulled me into this Toku world
Same 👍

I loved that the Zect riders’ secondary henshin was occasionally used as a grenade style attack against groups of the weaker enemy form.
Zero-One's henshin also is incredibly extra, he drops a whole bike-sized object from space each time, I love it

Decade is a amplified Ryuki using Afterimages, but now of all 9 Riders of Heisei Part 1 with their Symbols before forming that Blank Grey Decade, and the extra Cards getting slotted into his head looking more like a barcode, generating his Pi-Magenta is PEAK Henshin design and visuals
same case for Ex-aid, using a Character Selection Screen is BLOODY FANTASTIC and i love every rider selects their forms in different ways and poses, like Snipe Hand-Shooting His or Brave choosing on the side without looking, Before Digitalizing into their forms
