I absolutely love mids and how they fit. It's just an added bonus that the masses don't love them as much and gives me a chance to snag a pair 😆
I agree I luv them all lows, mids, & Highs. If I like'em I like'em.
Only mids I have are BRED mids and painted the eyelets black. Definitely look good but the leather is legit stiff as heck. Take a lot of break in time. I need more.
I much prefer the way the mid fits than the highs. Highs are too high. I just wish Nike would put some better quality materials into their shoes. Like Chris said, you can get WAY better quality in that same price point from other brands. Look at a New Balance 992, $175 and premium quality and premium craftsmanship. Nike has fallen off and it sucks.

The Air Jordan mid black is a special edition for the day of the dead in Mexico. They called it Siempre Familia. All the details it has allude to different traditions of ancient Mexico. It's just fantastic.
The National Institute of Anthropology and History intervened in the design... Loved the swoosh Modified. The teeth pay tribute to the jaguar which was sacred in ancient times. It's just a fantastic pair.

I just got into Jordan’s about a few months ago. Have 2 pairs now of mids. Tan gum and brushstroke. They’re dope but I really don’t understand the “hate”. I prefer mids over the highs imo
Ngl, my first pair of Jordan 1s was actually a pair of bred mid 2018. I didn't know there were low, mid, and high at that time. But I was happy to get my first pair of J's. Still it holds a special place in my heart when it comes to the mid silhouette.
The Luka Doncic Special Edition “Mindfulness” was one of the best Mids in a while.. The color blocking made it look like a High..

The only Jordan 1 that I have is a mid, the Johnny Kilroy ones. I used to be a dummy and cried about them for being durabuck and not leather but during rainy days or cold days I love them. Also I got them for 80 bucks. If anyone wants to start using Jordan 1s, don't mind the materials honestly, is more about the fact that they are Jordans.
The Day of the Dead SE is beautiful. No mention of the box and the extra laces, though...
Great video again! I have a pair of Jordan 1 mids and a pair of Jordan 1 mids SE, believe me, you can definitely feel and see the difference in materials. Nike does the same thing with dunks. You have the Dunk, Dunk SE, and the SB Dunks, and you feel and see the difference in materials on those too. Appreciate everything that you guys do!

Real talk some in my top 10 of the collection are mids. I rock my Blue the Greats and Milans a lot. I get more compliments on them seems like than other classics.

I don't mind mids, like 3 centimeter difference than Highs, but I've been waiting for those pine green mids! They look really nice 🙌 Sad I did miss out on the SSE haha thought it was a cool design 👌

The Siempre Familia version material was super dope. The leather quality is super nice and soft not like other Jordan 1 Mid👍
I have a few mids and I like the style waaaay more than lows. OG Highs are the best but I will check mids out.

Mids r dope plus in high school that is all we had was mids the height difference is so unnoticeable is corny that people don't like em. Plus mids come in some dope colorways too
I dont call myself a collector. I buy what i like and if the price is right. Seen couple of mids go for sale. So i grab them. I like them for the price i got them for and i dont care about what hypebeasts might say

I had never bought a pair of mids until they released the hyper royal, I actually like they fit better than traditional highs. I got my second pair of mids with those sweet Siempre Familia SE, they're probably my favorite pair of Jordans along with the Tokyo Biohack and Zoom Cmft.

I don’t hate Mids it’s the fact that they hide how bad the materials are by rolling all the edges that would normally be exposed to raw leather edges on Jordan 1 High OG’s.

I love how mids feel at the opening since they are lower than the highs cause the highs dig into the back of my leg. HOWEVER, the lower quality materials make the break in process super painful for me (sometimes they stay painful even after breaking them in). So for that reason I still prefer the highs cause there basically is no break in period. I'll have to check out the mid SE's, the problem is that I hate the colorways that they come out in. Hot take here tho, the BEST out of all of them are the low OG's!! Good materials and good fit.

Late comment, but I just picked up the mid se ‘Dune Red’ and I was surprised to find a Jordan 1 high style tongue on it and nice leather as well 👍🏽

If memory serves me correctly the Premier Jordan 1s that came in the black laser(most comfortable ones ever) and the red and green ones were the first retros to get the high top treatment. the strapped banned ones came after
As soon as I saw the "super Special Edition" pair, the only thing I could think of is "hmm, how could I get rid of the teeth"
I have the first two pairs. In fact wearing the Linen/ College Grey now. My 2 cents on the mid material is this: Nike feels that bettermaterial closer to the Highs on the Mids would cannibalize the High sales. The Mids with more colorways, availability, material almost as good as highs at a slightly lower cost would pull some from the Flagship. Protecting the Brand.

Jordan Brand has been pumping out Mids just like these long before the OG High was on shelves.

I have the Bred Mids - snagged for box price. It's the same low quality leather as described in the toe box and side panel but it's tumbled. The overlays feel like a better quality (maybe genuine leather)? They've worn fairly well because the leather is softened.
The thing about Jordan 1 Retros is that most are made with genuine leather - it's not top grain or full grain. In other words, 1s are made with okay quality leather at best. The Air Force 1, which retails for comparable pricing as Jordan Mids, is made with full grain leather- it's better quality. Nike is absolutely pimping the game by producing cheaper quality products and charging a premium for what the products symbolize.
Would love to see a comparison of the mids SE and the OG Highs.

Just got the Linen’s on the Nike app yesterday. Can’t wait to rock them!
I got the black ones for $150 on the nike app. When they showed up the suggested retail price was $130. I got a hold of Nike and they knocked the price down to $126. That's a lot of shoe for $126!

Great review, yup the aj1 mid is kinda plastic cardboard yet Nike has been dropping some clean colourways such as the one you displayed. The mid se sometimes ok but not always worth it however the mid Milan that was done very well. And the high end mist 🤩 that siempre la familia is 🔥. I think it may surpass the fearless Maison château rouge . Better without the teeth tho. Please do a comparison of dunks too , presently the quality of GR dunks are worse than GR mids . It would be great to see GR dunks Vs SE Dunks Vs SB Dunks

A lot of the mids don't even use constructed leather, they use plastic. Rose Anvil cut one in half on his TH-cam channel. The biggest issue is the materials. What makes a J1 comfortable is how the leather molds to your foot over time. Doesn't happen with plastic and constructed leather. New balance gives you real leather at a cheaper price. Why can't Jordan do the same?
Thick PU coated “particle board” leather is what’s used. Not plastic. They’d be sued for false advertising if they used plastic instead of what the U.S. deems “genuine leather”. What isn’t leather on the shoe is typically vinyl - like the swoosh.
@@WearTesters does it say anywhere that the shoe is 100% leather. Some of the panels are plastic, others are constructed leather. A far cry from the highs, which are typically almost all leather.
Per Nike’s product page for the AJ1 Mid “Real and synthetic leather in the upper offers durability and structure.”
@@WearTesters Sorry, I re-read my first statement. I wasn't trying to say that they were all plastic, but the mids definitely often have panels that look like leather but are actually plastic. Any any leather they use is of very low quality.

i like mids i been buying jordans so long i remember this is all we got so when you hear someone shitting on mids just know they're hypebeast they wasnt around in 2005. the only jordan 1 highs we got was in 2000 other than that it was mids all day including the DMP pack.

mid’s fit is better than highs though less of a material but its really more comfy on feet

I got 7 pair of mid the se version. Something different. I like them different colorways. The hi have the same boring color's every time. Find yo comfort zone. If you love sneakers it doesn't matter.
People hate on mids for no reason. Highs and mids should coexist as two similar but slightly different options. They have the same aesthetic but with a slightly different execution

The first shoe that I bought with my own money is a pair of black and white Air Jordan 1 Mid with white tongue. It was a 2017 pair with jumpman embroidered on the back. Got them for 100 euros. Awful quality, but they hold a special place in my head
