- NEW SERIES Riding the Line - My Favourite Roads.
I needed a cuppa and my mate Dud lives down the road so i took the fun way there! Plus there was potentially cake involved...oh yes I should have been home by now and im late for work - this was going to be fun!!!
After a year in the Garage I decided I had to stop being so precious about the Bullet and it had to be run in! i had been hesitating as 350miles at 40mph wasnt going to be so simple or easy. So i have spent quite a few weeks taking it on my favourite loops and this one is my favourite around Matlock. I really hope you enjoy it!
Im trying a text only vid - what do you think?

That is a nice road for speed freaks. And you can see why so many have come a cropper. Th old pictures make it look even more stunning back then. Prince is a stunning bike.
It's really stunning in great weather and it has so much history in the area - and 5 mins from Matlock too. There is a village with a nice stop and ice cream shop. Needs a visit!! It took me a dozen trips in different weathers to memorize it and see where all the dangers are. But it's that quarry dust paste that's really Dodgy and once it gets you in a corner it's trouble. Good times😁😁🥳🥳
Great ride. I must get up to Derbyshire this year. I loved the backing music, reminded me of 1976/7 when my mate Paul and I were at punk gigs almost every night of the week and John Peel's show was a MUST. Sound move to pull over, I also do that and I'm not limited to 40 MPH, far from it. Let them go and then you can enjoy the ride.
Thank you Neil! I absolutely love this grunge punk band from Seattle! I did listen to the shows from peel acres! John Peel was just so knowledgeable and experienced, we don't have that range put out these days!! I think I'm going to track all my virtual rides with punk 😁😁🥳🥳 the bullet is limited to 50mph until 2000 miles - a little more practical but I enjoy it so much more!! The Transalp has so much power and I really tend to push and try and get on - it's going to get me into trouble 😅😅 Can't wait till your this way! We must meet and love to get some good tracks and things to listen to! Everyone out these days is copywritted so I can't play it 😭😭😭 take care and ride safe, 😊🖖🏼
@@quinnpeaksbiker We used to see all sorts of bands when I was a student. Some of them were never heard of again, others like Sham 69, the Buzzcocks and Siouxie and the Banshee's went on to get contracts. I saw Siouxsie at Yate Community centre and ended up drinking with Pete Shelley and the guys after the gig. The VStrom can crack along, but some drivers just MUST be in front so I let them go, half expecting to see them in a hedge around the next corner. I'll let you know when I am going to be up your way, be great to meet up.
Great video. You put a lot effort in this one. Like the idea of having your comments there. Appreciate it. Keep up bro.
p.s. That "toilet" there surprised me. :)
🤣 is important to know where the toilets are, especially the free ones. Sharing local knowledge 😁🤣😂😂😂🥳😇 but are a few pubs in the area that are 200-400 years old and definitely worth visiting!! Thank you for watching 😁🙏
@@quinnpeaksbiker Great. Have to agree. Toilets are a must, always. :) Would visit those pubs, sure.
Bike looks great in black and gold!
It's a one off colour they made for the last production. Mat black, gloss black with hand painted gold.
Hi, my friend
Wow, it's a motorcycle riding video that gives me so much emotion and healing
Especially the roads and the natural scenery are fantastic
Have a happy day
👍👍👍
Thank you for watching and commenting, really glad you enjoyed! Motorcycles are really special ways to see places and gives an unique experience. Please take care and ride safe 😊🖖🏼
I enjoyed that, especially the bits where you stopped the video and gave us a bit of history.
Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it. The next three are almost ready, thanks for watching and commenting. Take care, ride safe and stay curious 😁🖖🏼
Thanks for taking us along for the ride on this loop.!
I always dig these rides where the countryside is so much different than what we have over here in the states
Thank you for watching Bob! It's a really famous place Matlock, a mecca for bikers, when your her next it's a must do!! Take care and ride safe 😊🖖🏼
I enjoyed riding that road. But you never told me it was so dangerous! I could have had an accident that wasn't my fault...
Plus we never ha the bacon butty 😡
😂😂😂 Thanks for the virtual ride and great soundtrack
I thought you knew! It's quite famous for the accidents. But I genuinely believe after near 100 plus runs on 125, bullet and Alp that if your sensible and pay attention it's not a problem. The really dodge time is winter where black ice means other road users are lethal weapons and they are always out of their lanes! But great experience to develop!
Thanks for watching and commenting, Prince is partial to punk 😂😂 soundtrack first and all that 😇🥳😁🤗 oh yes the butty, it's for next time but some say their facilities and service are aledgedly so bad the local rodants have staged a walkout demanding better customer service and facilities 😂😂😂😂 definitely next time 🤩🤩🤩
Great job with this video QPB !
Interesting and very informative.
A nice road but it could do with a sprinkling of Almerian road surface and some Almerian traffic conditions IMO.
I am perhaps unsurprisingly prepared to support our country pubs by the way 😂😂😂
It was nice to see where you enjoy riding QPB, so thanks for sharing !
Take care mate and good luck with everything 🤞
Cheers 🥃

Hi ER! The first edit had 9 notices about good pubs in the area, in the end decided it was a bit much and made me sound like a brewery rep😂😂 so took most out!!! The roads around quaries and mines are really poor. So many poor souls have not survived and it's the very heavy HGV loaded up that just shread the area, there are a number of streams that pass over the road in lots of places they make it very dangerous! I think (if I remember correctly) it was the 3rd most dangerous road in the UK for bikers by accidents and fatalities. Very sad business. Really nice to have a half hour stop at Matlock and have a candyfloss, bag of chips or a Mr slushy then get back road again, next time your here we must have a day out together on the bikes and make a personal pub inspection! 🥳🥳🥳😁😁🧐 Take care and ride safe 😊🖖🏼
Oh yes, Burton is only down the road, brewery inspection would be on the cards too!! 🧐🧐🧐🥳🥳😂
@@quinnpeaksbiker If you live in Burton, can you apply for mains beer ?
I think you should be able to ! 😂
That might even convince me to leave these sunny climes 😂
Sounds good QPB. If I ever make it over, we need to do this !
Nothing wrong with pub recommendations either, I’m sure plenty of folks will appreciate them.
I’m going to attempt to do something similar with tapas bars but unfortunately, when I’m out on the bike, I’m not very good at stopping 🤗
It’s something I’m determined to work on !
Cheers buddy,
ER.
@@economicalrides think the council might not go for the plumbed in beer scheme. Most councils are so poorly run these days, full of yes men and Fagin rejects!! Don't get me started!! Your in a beautiful part of the world and roads that are not pothole ridden! Some days I think I need an adventure bike to deal with dodgy roads more than anything! The beer around this way is quite good, I'm a big fan of local ales, was a paid up member of CAMRA at some point, but daily driving and family put an end to it. The tapas route is a brilliant idea, how about doing routes from bar to bar and do a tapas rating at each. A bit of fun, sustaince and food reviews - ER files: tapas confidencial. A take from Anthony Bourdains book, kitchen confidencial. Happy to help if needed 🥳🥳 but my dad's just told me in going to Málaga next month to help my uncle with some problems around his flat, not been to Andalusia since 2019 so quite excited!! Only for 2 days but still something!!
@@quinnpeaksbiker Hi QPB,
if it’s early June, Andalusia will probably be greener than you remember 🤞
Cheers 🥃

Can’t spell questionare? 🤷🏻♂️
Lovely ride Quinn. I like the points of interest, but I’m a slow reader so missed some info 🤣
Kudos for highlighting some of the dangers. Road surface is an easy one to overlook, without local knowledge 👍🏼
Very nice to see a vid, my friend 🙂
AHH the questionnaire 🤣 we have been friends since 1995 in college, then uni together. I said questionnaire has 2 N and he said no it's 1. So we made a bet, if I was right he would wear one of the worst jumpers I'd ever been given for Xmas the previous year. It was a splatter tie die pattern, looked like a pigeon has exploded on a jumper....so when he walked into class a few days later I had a good laugh, take every chance to laugh about it witg him, good times 🤣🤣🤣🤣 thank you. Trying to get more out but struggling with time to get them edited so trying Vids that are quicker to get out. Hope they are good enough 😊🖖🏼
The road accidents are really crazy, it's bikers doing crazy things on the road that are giving us all a bad name. I couldn't add it to mine as it's copywritted but will send you a link
Great story with your uni mate 🤣 Good on him for going through with it.
I know how hard it is to produce vids Quinn. And in your position, I wouldn’t even try. I’m lazy, you see 🤣
A Loo with a View! 😂 Nice video, and some great views on that road. How's the running in on the Prince going?
😂😂 I thought it was funny, if you can avoid it...try😱😱 surprised no one else pointed it out. The running in all done and first service done now too, now at 400 miles or so and limited to 50mph till the 2000mike point I think. Im really enjoying it, it's quite nice to ride and I can lean it and throw it about compared to the Transalp. She is really a handful and very demanding 🤣🤣😉 i do feel quite regal on the bullet and am really enjoying it so far, twas the right choice. I'm curious to what a rear shock upgrade would do, ever considered any upgrades to daisy? Take care and ride safe 😊🖖🏼
@@quinnpeaksbiker To be fair, most of the time 50 mph is all I do on the Bullet so you have the best speed 'unlocked' now 😁 Wouldn't know myself about upgrading the rear shocks, the only 'upgrades' I've done is adding luggage racks and heated grips, otherwise I've found it perfect as is! But do let me know if you upgrade the rear shocks how it handles!
When they talk about who ate all the pies...I get a guilty look on my face 🤣🤣🤣 it's probably going to happen at some point. At 100quid it's quite reasonable for what it is it should help to keep the bike more stiffer and stable and more level. But I like to upgrade it once and be done. Was the same, heated grips and optimate cable, was it. See what happens, the ALP has gone in today for some work!! See what happens
