  • Despite two failed attempts at a World Record 217kg Axle Press, Iron Biby asked for "another go" and succeeded on his third attempt, what a legend!
The second event at the Strongman Classic 2021 was the Hercules Hold and all eyes were on the World Record Holder Mark Felix, but it was Iron Biby who won the event with a time of 1:15:12!

I don't think many people out there would be able to even hold this after the initial release without experiencing some shoulder tearing. Given most people aren't even capable of deadlifting even a smallish weight (100 kilos or c. 1.5* bodyweight) properly, I highly doubt they would be able to even hold it for a second or two. If you found your average strength training gym goer they might be able to hold it for ten seconds or so if they are naturally quite large, but again, I don't see many people being able to hold it for a substantial amount of time. I haven't been able to train properly for a while now thanks to Coronavirus and personal circumstances, but when I was at my strongest I think I would manage maybe 10-15 seconds, but I can't even imagine holding it for a minute and a half... Though I only weigh about 85 kilos currently so I imagine another 60 odd kilos probably helps quite a bit haha...

Should we make shorter competitors stand on risers for deadlift too to balance out the height difference there? There's a reason these competitions are never a single event.
