    I recon pub stays are great they cook for you have a beer then free out back , if you pay at the caravan park and there not cheap you'll end up at the pub anyway

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Exactly! We would've spent the money there anyway and there is a different feel when you staying out the back as opposed to just turning up to the pub 👍

    Another lovely episode. We live in Lake Macquarie and the Wollombi, Broke and Denman area is one of our regular motorcycle routes. We were in Denman for lunch in the little main street just this past week. Heading past there in the van this coming week en route west. Almost too close to home for us 😂😂

      Half your luck 👍it is a great area! Could easily spend a few weeks just in that region. We’re hoping to call into Lake Macquarie next time we pass through

    Great information and locations. We usually stay at the Royal Hotel Murrurundi as a first night stop when heading west… Great steak! The Hunter is a nearby gem for low cost camps. Travel safe guys

    Very informative and helpful video. Using wiki camps is good, but to actually SEE the places and have your commentary ( and shots of the food on the menu at the different places) helps visualise if it would work for me. Definitely going to check out Burning Mountain and Wollombi Tavern for a meal and some Dr Jurds.

    I have just stumbled across your channel and loving it. But I have to ask, and forgive me if this has been done to death before, but why don't you guys use a dc to dc charger to charge your van's battery from the cars alternator while driving between stops? A thousand dollars well spent to be able to arrive at your next camp fully charged. I get it that most nights you can charge from powered sites it seems to me it would eliminate the uncertainty of having enough grunt in your battery when you consider free xamping.

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@doug.horne2378 thank you ☺️ we do use the Anderson plug but often only travel an hour or so and it doesn’t do much for the battery. We are starting to get better with our power though 😉

    Loving your videos. I'm about to set out on the road for the first time ever... I have no idea how the free camps, bush camps, pub camps, etc work. Is there a limit as to how long you can stay? I'd like to go to a town, plonk down, setup, have dinner at the local, visit the town and locales, have dinner at home, leave in a day or three ... is that possible? You never mention if there's a limit, and you only seem to stay someplace overnight. For me that's a tad too fast paced.

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s great to hear about your plans to travel! We love this lifestyle.
      A lot of free camps have a limit of 72 hours some are just overnight and others don’t state a time limit. We have a preference for free camps that are close to town but they are the ones that will have a time limit. Wiki camps is a great app for finding out information on what is available. We are on a free camping journey right now and will include that sort of information, and hopefully answer some of your questions in the next video.
      Cheers Paul and Wenda

    Hi, you mention you struggle to get your batteries charged in bad weather, why not look at getting a dc2dc charger and run an anderson plug from you car and while your driving it will charge via the alternator.

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Your effort and ideals are fine - but - either you are (1) new to this country or (2) have never previously travelled it (3) or you have never researched it. In this video the pronunciation of almost all the towns you visited are comical errors. My son is dyslectic and you seem to suffer the same affliction. Your wife did get some of the names right when she had a go at pronouncing them. It doesn't take much to ask a local if you are not sure. It is better than butchering a towns name and letting it get past the edit stage. Why am being so pedeantic? You completely stuffed the name of a town I used to call home in an earleir video, The town is Marulan. I thought it was funny at the time as I thought it was a one off - but seeing you again I'm sure all vour videos must be the same. Take a little care - these towns are home for many people and while you are doing the right thing by advertising them your lack of knowledge takes away from everything you say.
