The Future of Cloud Native Java
For many years, Java EE has been a major platform for mission-critical enterprise applications. In order to accelerate business application development for a cloud-native world, leading software vendors collaborated to move Java EE technologies to the Eclipse Foundation where they will evolve under the Jakarta EE brand.
Java EE is used by 14 million developers
It has a million dollar value in industry.
Over last two years technologies like Microservice, Spring, node.js, Python are evolving in market giving tough competition to Java EE.
Java EE being complicated and slow to update Oracle is not able to provide much features as present in market.There are several other reasons too.
Java EE not able to compete.
As Java EE is difficult learn and have high maintenance people are not choosing it.
Oracle is also not providing the features present in market.
To bring back JavaEE and to provide more features in it, companies like Redhat, Fujitsu, IBM, Toinitribe are providing helping to provide updates.
But these companies dont want Java EE to be bond to one company they want Java EE to be open source.
Thats why Jakarta EE came into the picture.
Now Jakarta EE will be replacing Java EE and will work under Eclipse foundation.
So now on the expected updation of Java EE will be available for Jakarta EE.
Major updates are expected for Jakarta in future.
Java EE is not dead !
Just name has changed.
Base language for Jakarta EE is Java only.

By the way just wanted to know in todays date which language and framework you would recommend for backend engineering and development ? Just wanted a recommendation in 2018 with all those great langauges and framework out there :-D

The problem is that you can forget the package "javax" in Jakarta project. Because of legal issues it has to be another package. This is the duty of the transition to open source. The next is the certification process and who guides the API with good design knowhow. Is there any language architect?
I work on Spring MVC / Spring boot. What will happen to Spring core after Jakarta EE? Is it going to change Spring core? Please please provide more details on that.

I think Python is most popular today as it is a general purpose and easy to learn. Python has wide scope of applications as well. Startups are using Javascript (Node/Angular) and Ruby for web development . Java is most preferable in Enterprise Industry but Python is all-rounder, are used in lot of areas (especially AI) and most popular today of course :) ... Anyways your programming skills measured on problem solving ability (Data Structures), language doesn't matter here!
I looked up the stackoverflow survey and python is deemed as the "most loved language" its pretty high in its usage.

5) Java
6) Bash/Shell

I, personally prefer python because even tough its slow, the way it works is so beautiful and easy. Also that excellent frameworks like TensorFlow are well supported for it.

I think you have mixed a lot's of unrelated stuff. Here we are mainly talking about backend systems although Jakarta EE has MVC 1.0 as well. You can always run Groovy on the top of Java SE but here is the main talk on the Enterprise.

Java is programming language. J2ee are set of technologies for developing enterprise applications using Java. Also note that Java is the term used to refer to platform as well, depending on context .

Java as a programming language is good , but at enterprise level its shit complicated , iiops , corba , orb and etc ... , with rest services you get things done fast that is why spring boot is taking over and oracle left this complicated mess .
