      How much of it could still be included, if shaving off weight to keep it and rigging under 200kg? To keep it excluded from that regime's regulations, if possible to build it under 200kg, that would be great.
      ... Maybe extensive use of vacuum-bagged and higher strength-to-weight s-glass?
      Lighten the mast and lighter rigging and sail plan? Reduce thickness and weight and strength of the cabin top? ? ? ?...?

    Enjoyed your video tremendously! I don't know where to begin. What tips do you have for someone to learn how to sail? Your boat is exactly the size and type I would like to learn. Would a learn to sail school be appropriate? I would like to learn to sail somewhere between Corpus Christi and Pensacola. Do you have any recommendations to get started?

    • @jbratt
      @jbratt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am sure if you ask around a local yacht club there are a lot of people that do individual instruction. It probably depends where you go. Just talk to any of the locals with sailboats and I'm sure they will be helpful. I kinda grew up around it so I never had any formal education. My parents were champion sailors and my mom taught me a lot. Thanks for watching!

      I love the boat. Dealing with CLC has been a pleasure. I have been considering building a Tri hulled sailboat mainly because I enjoy building boats and going faster is always fun. Check out this year's video if you get a chance. Thanks for watching!

    I'll stick with the R2AK...I like scenery and 4 seasons each year.
    But to each their own...I grew up in TX and just never want to return. The sailing up here is hit or miss, but always has beautiful mountian veiws but frequently it either isnt blowing or is too stronf

    Content was great and the production felt very professional for the size of the channel. inb4 100k subs. How many hours on the build? CNC must have saved a ton of time

    • @jbratt
      @jbratt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you👍. The CNC saved probably a couple of weeks of build time. It took about 8 months for me to build. It was slowed up by jury duty but I pretty much worked seven days a week on it. I work from home so when I was not on the phone I was building. Right now I am preparing for a different 200 mile adventure. It is a 200 mile gravel bike race in Kansas called Unbound Gravel. There are videos on TH-cam. I may make one

    'Candy-O' is a beautiful little boat, a real credit to your build, and to her designer. Fantastic video, and the cardboard model dramatisations are a delightful addition.
    A CLC Pocketship is looking a lot like the kind of mini-cruiser I'd love to have spending a weekend on one of the lakes around where I live. But alas Time, and Money evade me. Always seems as though I have 1 or the other, and never both at the same time.
    Keep up the great videos, and I'll keep watching and dreaming from over here in Australia.

    roughly how many miles do u think you could do in a day

    • @Sailomatics
      @Sailomatics 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      do you think you could do u could do 50nm in a day going at least 5kts

    • @jbratt
      @jbratt  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did over 50 the second to last day and still had daylight left and didn't have the best wind. With current and wind conditions your milage can vary but planning for anything over fifty could be difficult if the wind goes flat.
