Hi Simon, Thank you for posting an informative video. I'm looking to buy a couple of Auscision N scale(Australian) 80 class locomotives, and they have the Next 18 socket, you video helps with identifying the decoder and how it attaches it the board. I like this way more than using the Kaptan tape to isolate the decoder from the chassis.
Hi Simon, the decoder must be Dapols latest improved decoder, the train runs very smooth at slow speeds, very easy to fit. I wonder how a sound decoder would go, it would be nice. Very interesting video Simon, thank you. Regards Gary 👍🏻🇦🇺😊
Hmm .... Analogue: Loco goes forwards and backwards and is future proof. Digital: Loco goes forwards and backwards at extra cost and is not future proof. People moan about the costs of locos and then spend extra to get problems. The same mindset that moans about a TV licence and then spend double for Sky.

Hello Simon,
Thank you for this video. It was helpful for a novice like myself. Ta very much!
we enjoyed this clip , your landscape is soooo realistic , we liked that jazz music audio clip . thanks.
Simon, thanks for the tutorial! BTW a nice looking layout!
Thanks for this, I’ve just ordered the exact same loco and decoder so will have no problems fitting it having watched your video 👍
Glad it helped 👍
I suppose the 18 pins are to cover all future expansion/functions, certainly new to me. It went in a treat Simon, nice job.
