Having had recent lesson with Marcus I can confirm the need to free the body up to swing through the golf ball. Just moving from one position to another in the classic style doesn’t do it, the feeling is of being slightly out of control with a lot more movement, both rotational as well as laterally. The swing then becomes fluid and natural with more power and a built in natural draw shape.
The transformation that you boys produce is absolutely amazing. Your knowledge and teaching skills, I’m talking about the entire GRF staff, are superb. Cheers.
This was a light bulb moment for me, been playing table tennis at a decent level for many years and have struggled with the ground force moves, as with your pupil it now makes sense. Thank you and maybe see you in the future for a lesson 👍🤞.
I went to a pro for a series of lessons. It did not help. He showed me the dossier he had on me, all very neat, but it was describing what I already knew. When I finally got it, it was unlike anything I expected especially since it just kept getting better. Gone was the old jerky, inconsistent, hurried swing and in came the slow turn and turn back with the club swinging itself, and the ball in the fairway on the green time after time. No longer a hacker I could actually play golf. It's a great feeling you want to share, and the money is nice too. I wanted to add I like that jackknife idea, and got it instantly, which surprised me, but then life is full of surprises. All the Best.
@GRFGolf thanks Marcus. I setup a little open and swing on my footline but I think that causes me to be in my lead toe too long. One of your videos talked about the direction of the shift sort of dictating club path. I struggle to shift and turn properly when setup more square. Into lead heel may be what I need to be able to rotate properly in a more square foot-stance setup. Appreciate your videos.
By sequencing more efficiently he created more lag and lean which delayed face rotation. We also shifted his swing direction through sequencing so his arc was more to the right, arc height higher so shallow ground contact but leaning shaft so face less closed and more controlled impact dynamics.
Glad you decided to go up mate. Told you he’s good!

Perfectly explained Dean 👍

Thank you, glad it helped! Keep up the great work 👍
Another amazing transformation Marcus! You can hear the difference from the start of the lesson to the end! Awesome!!
Fantastic, a delighted, grateful player. Must be so rewarding

Brilliant
3 and 4 suggests to me that discus throwers should make great golfers...
Marcus - at what point in the swing should a fader start to feel weight and pressure into the lead heel?
Earlier and really fire the body pivot with torque (anteroposterior) forces 👍

How did he get his start line to start more right?
By sequencing more efficiently he created more lag and lean which delayed face rotation. We also shifted his swing direction through sequencing so his arc was more to the right, arc height higher so shallow ground contact but leaning shaft so face less closed and more controlled impact dynamics.
Looking good Marcus. You're going to have to start offering weight loss tips too!
Interesting stuff. Gotta learn how to let the athlete swing while the conscious mind just observes. Really nice vid...great shot tracers too. 🫡
