This was without a doubt my favorite boss in this dlc. The way the screen rotates and it's harder to control your character is literally the best thing they have done in this game. They really outdone themselves with this dlc didn't they?
This boss definitely had the most creative and unique mechanics in my opinion. You're not technically _flying_ in this boss, but you ARE on a plane. I especially loved the animation for the last phase. The way the dog plane grabs the screen is so very cool to me! And I have to admit, the screen flipping scared and confused me at first, but I got used to it after a couple of tries.
There’s actually a secret phase in this boss fight, during the four pup cadets phase, when you damage them and they’re about to be beaten the smoke from their backpacks turns gray, so if you get all four of them to turn gray then the secret phase unlocks
Katzenwagen (Kaht-zen-va-gen) is that cat's name if you're wondering. Also to the reply saying it's Werner's mech. Yes and no, we can clearly see that Katzenwagen is sneaking around *while* you fight Werner and his fight has very... Non-robot attacks.
If you think about it, this fight is a big contrast to Werner Werman's fight. Werner Werman represents the Axis Powers (Germany) while the Howling Aces represent the Allied Nations (UK). Werner drives a bamboo tech tank and aside from his giant cat robot, his arsenal is mostly made from scraps. Meanwhile, the Howling Aces have very legitimate and advanced-looking technology. Werner fights on the land (in fact, inside his really huge house), while the Howling Aces fight in the sky AND outside. Werner fights alone while the Howling Aces fight as a group (as even the final phase can have the leader fight alongside the puppies). Werner uses a giant cat in his final phase while a more average-sized cat (around three times the heroes' size) is used by the bulldog member in the first phase. Werner is based on Jerry, Tom's enemy. The bulldog and the puppies are based on Spike and Tyke, dogs who Tom avoid messing with.
and somewhat, there's a thing i just noticed. Remember the mecha cat named Katzenwagen that controlled by Werner and somewhat the Howling Ace Bulldog used a real cat somewhat similar to Werner's mecha Katzenwagen, and it that's means that it's implying that the cat that used bulldog was actually the *real* Katzenwagen itself.
Well this is why they are delayed I mean not following the deadline is sometimes good And the rush for a released one is sometimes bad just like what happened to R.T game were they give a developer 5 weeks to complete it And it became one the worst video games to ever come out
The bulldog is probably a reference to Winston Churchill, who was nicknamed the "British Bulldog." Red berets were worn by the Royal Air Force at this time. Also, the initials for Royal Air Force are RAF, a pun on ARF. The puppies in the battle will even say "Affirm Roger Fox!" if they kill you, which is Air Force code for "ARF" as well.
The bulldog is also a reference to a boss in a game called gunstar heroes called orange. When the bone attack happens he flexes to shoot the bones out at you. While orange doesn't shoot bones at you he does flex to do attacks and both use a plane as a way to attack the enemy and the overall physique of the bulldog is similar to orange. I for sure think this was on purpose as they have referenced gunstar heroes. One of the weapons is took straight out of gunstar heroes (chaser). God i love this game
@@doxskew2221 The bulldog's plane is a reference to yet another Run 'n' Gun - Metal Slug 2/X. Specifically, The Keesi II, first boss in 2 and the miniboss of X, being an aircraft that hovers over you and has soldiers on its wings that shoot from above. Also, I'm pretty sure the boomeranging bones might be a reference to Castlevania's Cross weapon, a cross that boomerangs back after some distance.

If people simp over a animal that supposed to be a pet… doesn’t that mean they technically simp for a slave to humans? It’d specially be weird for a dog owner to simp over a dog. Lol
Immediately entering this boss fight I took one look at the dog to the right and thought "there's gonna be quite a lot of r34 of her." But besides that, this is easily my favorite boss fight in the DLC, and one of my favorites in general. I ended up having to completely tilt my head every time there was a perspective switch. I got the most into this one, along with the mountain boss fight.
For those wondering why you don't use your plane in this fight, look at where the airplane and the chinook attack from: The former from above, and the latter from behind/the sides. Your plane can only fire forwards and drop bombs forwards+downwards without the use of Supers/EX moves. This also explains why Canteen Hughes' plane doesn't attack, it _can't_ due to being out of range!
Jesus I'm scared of that dog helicopter thing. It's just...so big and even though it has no eyes I feel like it's just watching me. On its own it's not scary but the fact it can fly and is gigantic is scary to me
Also I think its breaking the fourth wall a bit by flipping the screen, the pilot your on seems fine. Though the health and charge bar doesn’t move, would be a nice but hard detail
Thought it was fairly easy.. until the screen started flipping around making me panic lol Also, Dog lady pilot is definitely going to have.. interesting fanart made of her.
I like to imagine Werner secretly gave that dog a miniature version of his cat robot after his defeat to Cuphead hoping they would have a better chance.. ... yeah that didn't work as planned
This right here is my favorite bossfight. It has a secret phase, a cool scenery and fight (the background moves way too fast tho), it brought back 2 old characters, the song is a banger and the Dog helicopter design is top notch. Its design seems spectacular to me, looks both friendly yet incredibly sinister, the way it moves and the aggressive way it opens its mouth is so iconic, somehow I feel Ive meet it since forever. I also find it cool how the Helicopter dog seems to be breaking the fourth wall, its literally grabbing the camera and rotating it in its phase lol. Great bossfight
Fun fact! This can be your first boss fight! If you know the secret to getting the coin(near town), try heading down towards the waterfall. It should send you to the graveyard. Head down to the plane, and you're done!

So when two cups and their ghost friend come along to demand they give some to them, Bluebell and the Howling Aces aren’t going to just hand them over… not without a dogfight.
(Some lore I came up with, since SonicDestroyer hasn’t done any) The Howling Aces. What a name that was! And a famed one at that! Led and commanded by Saluki, and co-commanded by Bulldog Bill, they & their gang of warrior dogs took to the skies, defeating their opponents from every angle. Wars were waged, countless enemies were defeated unmercifully, and pilots lost their craft, though not their lives. The Howling Aces always won their wars with pride & humility; in fact, those who were outmatched knew their place & signed treaties, giving thanks to the victor for their valiant efforts & nigh-impressive combat prowess. Of the weapons they took pride in wielding, however, it wasn’t their fighter planes that won them the most wars; rather, it was their exceptionally-crafted pineapple mint grenades, which they dropped from great heights to defeat their opponents & blow up their military bases. Chef Saltbaker, knowing that these looked delicious, wanted to get his hands on them. There’s just one problem: The base the Howling Aces were at was heavily guarded & they observed intruders from every corner. If they spotted Saltbaker, they would force him to surrender immediately. And to make matters worse, Saltbaker was more into culinary cuisines instead of fisticuffs. But as weak as he was, Cuphead, Mugman & Chalice were not; if he could get them to grab the ingredient from them, even if it means having a brawl in the skies, so be it.
Sometimes I watched my sister play Cuphead, I played it too, but not enough. My sister needed help with the last phase and I beat the boss in couple of tries, it's a really good fight so I persisted lol. Now I think I'll play the whole game, it's really good.
As a R34 artist myself, I have spent the last 8 hours drawing a picture of Mrs Ace. I am about 75% done and I have never put more effort into any picture I drew previously. Thank you MDHR, for breathing inspiration into an otherwise struggling artist.
Oh so THIS is where all of that lewd drawings originate, I'm surprise because I haven't been tracking the progress of this game for a while so I thought the internet just so happens to get a hold on old unused Disney characters
By the look of this boss, likely they're parents. I mean the first one is probably the father and then the second are 4 flying puppies are probably the kids and lastly the leader of the howling aces is probably a mother. Because if you see her pressing random button, she attack the player by shooting some 4 different colour of dog food plate or something. But that's my theory.
probably, and there's an intresting case i believed that somewhat Werner Werman was designed his cat mecha named Katzenwagen after the cat that used by the Howling Ace Bulldog
Has anyone else noticed that the howling aces are possibly a family like how the bulldog is the father the female dog is the mother and the little bulldogs could be their children if you pay attention to one of the attacks in the final face you can see the female dog firing dog bowls at you and also notice how the little bulldogs clothes look a little different like childrens clothes anyone understand what I'm talking about
I'm trying to say that I think the howling aces look like a family and I tried explaining some of the attacks were hints to me that they were a family if that's what wanted me to clear up

Oh God I can tell people are gonna simp for the Girl Dog Ace
Oh there gonna do more than just simp for her I'll tell you that.
How do you get horny over dogs?
I already did 9 hours ago......
Sadly yes...
@@SliceShorts2016 Touch grass 🗿🗿🗿🗿
Sometimes I watched my sister play Cuphead, I played it too, but not enough. My sister needed help with the last phase and I beat the boss in couple of tries, it's a really good fight so I persisted lol. Now I think I'll play the whole game, it's really good.
Now I’m Curious if the Howling Aces ever met Werner Werman, and better yet, how would Katzenwagen square up against Chinook The Airplane
When I left you, I fought Tom and Jerry but now I take on Spike and his mates
I’m glad I didn’t know anything about this boss because that final phase really intrigued me
Already people are making hot art of the lady dog...
It never fails!
Alright Internet, do your thing.
DO YOUR WORST ARTISTS!
Oh boy
They started the moment this released.
I love how its a dog fight and yet one of the dogs used a literal cat to attack you.
Oh so this is what the dog is doing
I love the game mechanic for the last phase
You can see how the Bulldog's attire almost resemble Rolento from Street Fighter.
This boss is my #1 !!! I love the design and the layout
The intro gets me hypejist for how good it looks
There's an alternate final phase to this boss which is much easier, I'm not sure how it's triggered though.
I call baloney.
@@SunshowerHeathcliffBeliever Sounds like it, but nope - I think it happens if you take too long to kill the little dogs in phase 2.
@@SkeletonBill how do you know?
@@SunshowerHeathcliffBeliever THERE IS
@@SkeletonBill I believe you but I’m dying for proof and can’t find any…
Okay I love everything about this dlc, the new bosses, Saltbaker, and even the new abilities
I don't know why, but this dog helicopter reminds me of FNAF for some reason.
She reminds me of boris the wolf
rule 34 artists: time to work 😎
As a R34 artist myself, I have spent the last 8 hours drawing a picture of Mrs Ace. I am about 75% done and I have never put more effort into any picture I drew previously. Thank you MDHR, for breathing inspiration into an otherwise struggling artist.
I knew it, I knew that someone would be drawing r34 of her, Gosh
Bruh
Would you happen to know where I can find this image?
@@Gman_2009_ control yourself will you?
@@Gman_2009_ fight your addiction to this smut. It's only feeding it.
Spike and Tike joins the battle with Tom!
Something funny I noticed is when the girl dog goes sideways, so you naturally tilt your head sideways to see, like a dog
Oh so THIS is where all of that lewd drawings originate, I'm surprise because I haven't been tracking the progress of this game for a while so I thought the internet just so happens to get a hold on old unused Disney characters
When I first saw that pilot dog girl when beginning the fight, I had to sigh to myself "she must be a popular tag on e6 isn't she."
We all know where the girl dog is heading, btw this is my favorite boss fight and the coolest so far
💀
💀
Nothing is dirtier and somehow fairer than control manipulation. Sure, you've mastered your movements. Now can you invert them twice over?
**Sees Chinook Pilot Saluki**
**Looks at the person beside me**
"Yeah, I think we all know where this is headed."
Now that’s what I call a dogfight
I just realized this is all a play on the word “Dogfight”
Honestly I found the animation in this boss fight look like something from the 1990s more than the 1930s.
This fight is like Wally Warbles, only this is a married couple instead of just father and son.
Every R34 artists: *I smell PROFIT! HA HA NICE!*
My Head canon names for the Flying Aces:
Lt. Bill Dozel
The Yipping Yankees-Fido, Lucky, Rex, & Spot
Major Salacia Okill
E621 is going to be all over this dog character, one look is all it takes.
Now is the time to say…
What the dogs doin?
It's becoming a thing now where many video game companies want to make their own "Furry Waifu."
Thats true
Pander to us!
Oh my, the furry bait it's gonna be stong here
💀
Do you think these guys have some kind of rivalry with Werner Werman?
That sounds good!
probably, and there's an intresting case i believed that somewhat Werner Werman was designed his cat mecha named Katzenwagen after the cat that used by the Howling Ace Bulldog
Yeah I’m pretty sure the Dogs are British so it makes sense they are enemies with Werman because Werman is German
Has anyone else noticed that the howling aces are possibly a family like how the bulldog is the father the female dog is the mother and the little bulldogs could be their children if you pay attention to one of the attacks in the final face you can see the female dog firing dog bowls at you and also notice how the little bulldogs clothes look a little different like childrens clothes anyone understand what I'm talking about
Can you specify what you mean
I'm trying to say that I think the howling aces look like a family and I tried explaining some of the attacks were hints to me that they were a family if that's what wanted me to clear up
I'm not saying its true I was just trying to ask if a few of you see what I mean
Hmm maybe
They do look like a family to me.
Lord forgive me for what I'm about to do
💀
Ayo, don't do it!
not forgiven. at all
Fun fact: this is the only boss that has three death animationd
@Starplexio the normal ending has two. One for being in the mouth, and another for being outside
1:00 That dog plane thing is nightmare fuel.
fun fact: that "plane thing" is actually a helicopter
@@Mattcai2004 A dachshund double helicopter. Weiner dog.
