    It is beyond interesting and amazing and believable to see how much civilization has changed in my lifetime (seventy-three years). And I hope and pray civilization continues to change even more in the coming years. We have so much farther to go in so many areas and I believe humanity has the potential to realize its full potential and more. That is my hope and desire and prayer. Especially for Women, who have always given me the sweetest parts of life and love. God Bless Women.

      One of the things that playing this game has driven home to me is how long change can take. The battle for suffrage that the game covers lasted 80 years. It's easy to feel like causes can be hopeless, when in reality they are just moving very slowly.

      Yes, Women's Suffrage moved forward at a Glacial Pace. There were some very strong women who gave their lives for the cause.

    Great play, Zilla. Looks like you’ve got your mind wrapped around the strategy for this game nicely. With three Congressional support already, and the Oppobot not providing too much resistance, I think you’ll have the Patriarchy beat in no time!

      Thanks! I feel like we've been largely fortunate with the card draw sequence, and the dice rolling has been good enough. An early Civil War can really change things up if you don't have the cards to deal with it. And getting all the state cards would be really sweet, and I think to do that there has to be some good luck involved. We'll see, though, long ways yet to go. Lots of work to be done. :)

    Zilla, to you talk with such familiarity, like you've been playing for years! I hope your effort is successful. My wife is enjoying her suffrage! 😅

    Starting to look hopeful for the suffragettes especially with the acw card arriving at the end of the round.

    Yeah ok I'm addicted and loving this! I do wonder though in regards to alot of cards relating to post Civil War and if there should be some sort of mechanism that unless the Civil War is trigger then these post war cards can not be played? Aldo would you say that this game and the setup is more favoured towards the player than the opposition as it seems like it is from here especially this turn as you are stream rolling through; or perhaps its more your strategy and perhaps a limitation on a solo play compared to 1v1?

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The cards came out pretty favorably for us. An early Civil War card could really see the AI getting a fair amount of the State Cards, and we had some luck in there as well. We did get on a roll in Turn 2, though. The Strategy Cards and State Cards are key because they allow essentially double turns. This is a much better start than the last time I played. :)

    Can you play the opposition side and have the suffrage side played as the bot? This would seem to be the more challenging side to play.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, that one's not an option. Solo against the opposition, two-player head-to-head, or co-op against the opposition. :)

    Can you clarify something for me. I'm sure you've explained it, so sorry! I thought when you got 4 blocks on a state you get the state card and you effectively had the states support for the rest of the game. But with some of the states you got to 4, and then later on lost support in that state. Presumably, no state is safe until the end of the game?

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, yes, I should revisit that in the next video. The states aren't locked in until Congress passes the 19th Amendment. Once that happens any state with 4 of either side's colors locks to that side, and as soon as a state gets to 4, it locks.

    This ia really fun game. Have you played this with an opposition player yet? I feel like that could really do some hefty damage, if it was a human strategising on that end.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've not done that yet. There is a co-op mode for playing two player which I think is really fun. I have seen tweets of opposed two-player and I've seen big wins by the anti-suffrage player in both of those cases. But small sample size and all that. It's a bit tricky to want to play as the anti-suffrage player. You're essentially playing evil.

    I love card based games like this but this game seems to be heavily balanced in favor of the suffragists (at least in the solo mode) correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @ZillaBlitz

      I'm not sure, really. I've won as the suffragists in the solo games I've played so far, but I've talked to a number of people who have expressed opinions all over the place, from easy to hard. :)

      @@ZillaBlitz i guess its just about momentum then, if you get good luck in the early game and get a few states cards you can use them to get the rest and from there win.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not letting the opposition get the state cards or strategy cards is a must, IMHO. I always try to bid 4 buttons so that the opposition never gets a strategy card, and go full speed in the beginning to get as many state cards as possible. Those cards are so important, because they essentially represent a value of 2 turns (the opposition loses a turn and you get a turn).

  • @pterrok5495
    @pterrok5495 ปีที่แล้ว

    Heh--I'd change the Reconstruction card to say it has to be played only AFTER the Civil War has ended--and can't be played if there was never a civil war. (Give it a different effect.). I mean, if you never have a civil war, there's nothing to reconstruct, right?
    Wondering about the bidding with buttons...you bid ALL your buttons and won the 1st card. But what about the other two cards? i.e. can you bid on all three cards or only just one? Was thinking you were trying to get the one card knowing the oppobot would then get the other two.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  ปีที่แล้ว

      I kind of imagine it as post-slavery reconstruction, since the 1th Amendment precludes it. But yes, I can see your point, for sure.
      Ah, right. In the Strategy Phase, you only bid for one card. If you win you get it. If the Oppobot wins the bidding, you randomly give it one of the three cards and it immediately plays it. I should have clarified that, I'll do so in Video 4, as I've already recorded the Strategy Phase of Video 3. Thanks!

    • @kevinbertram4828
      @kevinbertram4828 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In an early version, you could only play Reconstruction if the Civil War had been played, but this incentivized Opposition players to not play The Civil War for the event. So instead, we allow an alternate history where the Fifteenth Amendment and Reconstruction happen without the Civil War - perhaps the Confederacy got snuffed out immediately or some grand political deal was reached - and it is possible in the game that the Fifteenth Amendment and Reconstruction could spark The Civil War.
