So glad to be in Europe to have college for free as it is public and paid by the taxes, but glad to see Hasan Minhaj to stand for all these people and students starting active life with a huge debt. Every single word of it was meaningful just like AOC pertinent remarks except he has a touch of humouring that captures the attention of everybody. Please keep up the good job !
SilentPixel thanks for telling me something I alread know I mentioned college for US readers just in case you didn’t see I live in Europe, Switzerland more precisely...the fact that college is equivalent to Lycée in France or High School in the US I know (I also did 4 years in a college in Florida Uni for you), so for Americans having said College they will understand... But thanks again...
dwade well you can go to the EPFL, EPFZ or any public Uni in Switzerland it is free, even la Sorbonne in France or Lyon 3 and other top notch universities that are Public are free the amount paid are the taxes and charges for the subscription and is not an impossible amount. My daughter just started Uni so I have an idea of what I had to pay (1000€ in all) the most expansive is the housing as she will not study in Geneva, even in Canada that was an option for her Mac Gill a very good Uni in Montreal the taxes and charges are nothing compared to what they pay in the US for the tuition. It’s all a matter of perspective and you took the wrong one 😉
dwade You are right this is why among the top 20 in the world they are 6 European, 5 Asian including 2 in Switzerland that leaves 9 in the US out of 20 you know that such a small country but they are public, also saying that we should try to fit in 50’000 students makes me laugh it is not about the quantity it is about the fact that the taxes here are paying for the students beside the subscription fees, I went to study in the US but I saved my money before Uni and it did cost me a lot for my master but I wanted to combine European and an anglo-saxon country London was just too close I wanted a change so I did but having done that I can say that the quality is as good seeing the MIT 5th place and the EPFZ (Zürich) as 6th for the same kind of tech school it is not that bad unlike you are trying to say... Don’t know if you have ever gone to either Switzerland or Europe to say all this but me I did and I am still traveling a lot...because only the one that see the world can have a more objective view rather than the one sitting home or not moving much (not implying you do not travel) just wondering if you do !
College and university is not free in Europe. Don't make such sweeping statements. Here in the UK myself and everyone else I know ended up in tens of thousands of pounds of debt per year to tuition and lodging.
In The Mix well that depends where in Europe, in the UK it is a bit different than on the continent like LSE and possibly some others but again from what I know living in Switzerland with children studying in Uni in Switzerland and France most are free because they are public. So maybe you should have searched elsewhere...here is a list for international students where they can study for free tuition therefore, locals or residents with a right to live in the country will also have a free tuition there and in many other countries not mentioned on that list unlike in the US which was the purpose of this post on TH-cam. www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2018/02/05/tuition-free-universities-europe-international-students/

Very awesome analysis.

Thank you man. I dont do much social media. But for this... I will go on it and share.
This guy really served them!
Hilarious and factual at the same time!! 👏👏 Please make this go viral!

Just amazing
Replace all politicians and policy makers with comedians = perfect world
Sorry, but the thought of a lot of comedians, that only talk about their carrot, playing with their carrot and making Chines-faces, becoming politicians, frightens me. Not all of them are like Hasan and a lot of them have to go.
The truth of the matter is, when it's time to vote, America will vote for people like Trump. The actual truth is, that the citizens have this kind of power to put anyone they want in power. But when it's time to do so, America shows you what they want.
Thank you Hasan!!!!
