Look at the state of the table and how slow it is. I doubt many modern day players could make a 50 on that😂 Great pot to win it, these two are legends of the game.
10 modern day players players have a CPFR of 9% . Meaning they make tons every 10 frames, and 7 of them have not won a tournament. That's how high the standards are today! Hendry CPFR is 6-56% and Davis 2.39% And they made tons every 17 frames and 39 frames when pockets were like buckets 😁😁😂😂
@sharpvidtube Ronnie & Hendry played 13 finals . It was played on the same day. On 1 table. Same cloth. Played with the same sized pockets for both players. Ronnie won 9 & Hendry 4 Please Hendry bot, say something about those facts?
@@Wah-j9o With thick cloths and no table heating. Many modern players struggle if the cloth is a bit slow. The balls slide off the cushions now, with a new cloth, you often see a ball hit the cushion but still go in, so the pockets often play big.
@ The stats are BS, Hendry lost motivation and was never the same when his cue broke. He could beat Ronnie for 10 years after he turned pro, the 2002 world championships semis final, was the end of that era, then Ronnie took over, but only after he gained massive respect for Hendry. They're both great, and I've loved watching both of them. I hope Ronnie can win 8, just like I hoped Stephen could win 7 and overtake Davis, who was also great.
Without knowing the score at the start, I assumed that Spencer needed snookers the way he kept turning down pots. He showed at the end how good a potter he was!
Reardon threw that away. Bad shot from Brown to Blue. He should have won the first three masters titles and again in 83. He should have been a 4 time champion.
They had to back then: No visible scoreboards, or headphones for the live crowd, so the ref had to shout out the scores to be heard. Unfortunately, the TV microphones picked up everything, but, back then people watching at home were used to the ref shouting, so it wasn't a big deal.
There was no Personality, no Charisma in the Commentators Voice back Then as the Tone was All on One Level. Whereas Now, its a Lot Better and There are More Commentator's. Having Said That, I Don't Know whether to Prefer this Commentator or the Ones Today as Listening to this One Sends me to Sleep! 😴
I'm enjoying how this ref shouted in such a commanding voice lol
Sounds like a sergeant major doesn't he ? !!!! - I think his name was Sydney Lee and he refereed the early Pot Black series
What a great set of 70's sideburns from the two best players of this era !!
Two great players .
Why yes Gertrude I will be partaking in the viewing of Snooker on my personal computer
Ray at his best is unbeatable RIP
Fantastic 'find' - thanks very much.

It looks like one of the fibreglass Riley Starline models that had a brief moment in the early / mid 70s.

Loving those massive bow ties
...and mutton chops!
3:00 somewhat less dramatic than John Virgo.
Brilliant I’ve noticed snooker and pool are well documented but the darts on the other hand it can be really hard to find archived footage.
คลาสสิค&อมตะ❤🎉

The greatest snooker world champion and ambassador of all time
£2k was the prize money for winning Masters in 1975..now iin 2025 its i think £350k...
Funny how "Where's the cue ball going?" sounded different in the day, innit?
The ref then, the ref now. Quiet please.
Bit harsh that the positional shot from Green to Brown didn't get a clap ?
The ref shouting is really annoying

10 hours and no chairs for the players!
Being a Welsh man I love Ray but the referee 😂 glad they ain't like him anymore 😅

That snooker table looks so ugly and tacky with its (presumably) plastic surround.
You presume wrongly, wood !
