this drama is more than just "another bl adaptation", it's seriously more than that. winter begonia is a well produced drama with well written story and well acted characters. the production quality was so good, you won't be disappointed.
i think the actors portrayed their love and appreciation for each other perfectly, i always forgot about the wife, she barely has any screentime and she has no role in the stpry, please don't miss a beautiful drama just because there is no kissing or touching. the bond between the two character is way better than a lot of bl i saw and the plot is very original. Their chemistry is as good as the one in The Untamed but it's still very underrated:(

This quarantine time i've witness some of chinise hestorical bromance bl etc... tho its intresting to watch... thwn i just finnish a cpuple of daya the Untamed yessss this one is the best.. tho doesnt have any kiss or whatever but if you watch it... the 2 actors are remarkable indeed... and sometimes novel in a book sometimes they dont even used it to be on that books.. but sometimes they give a twist of the movies.. sad ending makes me cry also.. but Sad ending with memories and laughter would be the best!
I remember the only kiss scene in Untamed is the RABITS.. Well almost..

It's based on "Farewell to my concubine I guess".. Although sad and censored this is worthy of watching....
And i guess we were used to implied love in Chinese BL.... But we all know that the way they portray love is way too excellent that we know the love between the leads is genuine, deep, and Intense.
Same with zhang yun long and Hu yitian. From "My roommate is a detective" I still feel the pain. 😭😭

And guess what .... The lead is HuangXamiao Ming of love of the condor hero.... Given his personality the show has its light and funny, charming vibe... Believe me... It is light....

Wow. This reminds me of the 1993 movie, “Farewell My Concubine,” with Leslie Cheung (RIP) and Gong Li. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Be warned: it’s tragic. Still, it’s a great film.

And that’s why guys the novels are the best 😂 I mean there’s a lot of bl novels in china and some dramas actually come from them and that’s also why it is an adaptation the director can choose to introduce female leads, feelings, scenes...For example the untamed has a manhua and they both come from the same novel but the manhua is a lot more explicit
One of the scriptwriters is the novel author. Fans of the novels actually found many implicit clues about the male leads' feelings. So....

I'm going to give this show a try. I know Chinas track record with bl isnt great, but this looks to good. I feel I shouldn't judge a show. China has it's own rules and regulations I dont like it (especially when it comes to bl) but china makes great films and shows so I'm going in.

Many people are refusing to watch this bcz of its sad ending but for me this is what that makes this drama unique and one of a kind. Spoiler alert!!!!!
From my point of view and nothing else- at the end even when Cheng Feng Tai asked Shen Xi Rui to go with him, he just refused. At first I was like everyone else and was very angry with this type of ending. But we saw that in the middle of the story, Shen was very angry and disappointedwhen a disciple of him was leaving opera so that she can live a happy and peaceful life. She was okay with treating her as a mistress but Shen was not happy about that. I think the last scene expressed the same emotion like even when he can live a peaceful life, free from his haters and enemies, Shen refused to go with Cheng because of his self respect and devotion towards opera. He was okay with being mistreated but can't allow someone to treat him as someone kind of mistress.
P.S: It's just my own point of view and nothing else but please correct me if I am wrong.

China won't go further than queerbiting and bromance. It's so infuriating that they would go as far adding female love interest despite the male lead being overly affectionate about each other. Still can't get over how things turn out in 'my roommate is a detective' it's a good drama and they fucked it up fo lr fujoshi. The friendship between 3 leads is excellent until they make the other two into a hetero couple which is extremely unnecessary and it ruined the excitement for me.
