Why would you need to describe it to an American? Most of us frequently use the "-in'" instead of the "-ing" as well. It's just the accent that makes it sound a little different.
Or just tell em, when sayin words that end with ing just drop the g, & also drop the h at the start of words that start with h & replace t & tt in the middle of words with d & dd, & replace the e & r & the o & r, at the end of words with an a, except, maybe for the word, for, of course these are only done while speakin these words not while spellin em or writtin em down, (ere's a few examples for Ya) "I think that We're goin to be endin up spendin a lot of money this summer" 'I ope Ya ave a good time at the party tonight" "Ow Ya goin Mate?, ow's it angin?" " Wadda Ya doin angin round this otel?" "I'm not angin round, I'm just waitin ere cause it's nilly openin time" "My bloody compudea's gone on the blink again," "I seem to ave lost the cursa on My compudea" "Gee, I wish that flamin barkin dog next door would urry up & seddle down" "The Prisona is entilted to meet His accusa" "Our kids ad lotsa fun playin in the park & swimmin in the ocean at the weekend". & so on, & so on, & so on I think You can see ow it goes, eh Mate? I watch your videos and just realise how much we change the english language. When i went to the US back in March and i found they could not understand all the words that had an 'R' in it...eg: Car. I had to really pronounce the 'arrr' rather then 'ah'. Blew my mind...i didn't realise how strong and different our language is here in Australia. Nice beard by the way...very impressive :)
I'm American, but grew up with many Aussie friends. Mates, if you will. By far, this is the most obvious quirk in my abomination of an accent. Hell, I didn't even know "how's it goin'?" was a common Aussie expression. I've been saying it exactly that way to all my American friends as a greeting for my whole life. Even cutting the H so it's more like " 'ow's it goin'?" Also, the Aussie version of "are you kidding me" is "get fucked." Yeah nah, that's just to show I really was absorbed into the culture. :) My accent is basically rhotic Australian.
I've lived in the south of the U.S. my whole life. This is the easiest dialect tip I've ever heard; there's a strong correlation. We are very lazy with our words in the south.
Ive thought the same thing.... Like a southern accent is very similar to an aussie accent... Probably why keith urban and all them down under yeehaws get away with country music 😊
Ahahahahaha, whatcha talkin bout Willis? & why can't You get it through Your thick skull that whether You like it or not, I'm takin this last slice of bacon & cheese pizza, ok Willis?
Just some irony... I am american... I was born in Melbourne, Florida.... I never understood why there is a "g" at the end of ...in' words.... I even argued this with my teachers in school.... I also have been doing aboriginal art and i didnt even know what it was... Including the sticks.... I live my life based on Dorys advice... I think i was Australian in a past life.... There sooooooo many other ironies but I'm tired of texting... 👇✌👌🐨 im also a koala
Facing difficulties to make locals understand my accent without pronouncing 'r' in words while I'm traveling in Thailand. Usually my gf helps to cope with this kind of situation since she lived in California for one year. 😷
Aussie English Hope so mate! I will arrive at Melbourne on 10/Jul and continue my Study in UofMELB. Looking forward to enjoy my new life in this fabulous city!

All your videos are so useful! Thanks!! I recommended all these videos to my Korean friends who living in Aus.
No doubt this sound is soooo aussie. Totally laidback.
If you ever want to describe the "ing" sound to an American, just tell them to say the word "bacon" and to use the ending sound from it.

They would say "cah" instead of "car" in the New England/Boston area. But for the most part, the rest of the US pronounces the "r". :)
@@trick7884 hence, they would also make fun of the Bostonian accent
Very useful channel.
Good job mate
Thanks a lot.

Absolutely! It's completely the same here in Georgia.

oh my god! so handsome😍😍😍
So I suppose these two words, "taking" and "taken", are pronounced exactly the same way in Aussie English.
Sometimes! -ing is used in strong form , And -en when used in weak form.
