my febco 765-1 is leaking. I opened all the parts of the preventer and nothing seems to be broken damaged. Nevertheless, I installed new parts just to make sure but the problem was not solved and when I turn on the water the preventer continues to leak slowly and steadily. what else can I do to fix the leak?

Call a local plumber with a asse 5110 certification to come check it out. That’s honestly the best thing you could do.

If I had to guess I’d say there has to be some shuttle damage somewhere. Likely the casted seat that the disc assembly makes its seal. It could be pitted or damaged. Also make sure there is absolutely no debri of any kind in the device.

i believe you didnt install the retainer clip in the correct position. it should go deeper into the unit and compress against the lower tabs

You mentioned the top "O" ring gets lubricant, should the 2 other rubber pieces be lubricated or should they not be, on purpose?!

Carmen is right, the video shows you placing it just below the top rim (7:47) and it should go below the tabs that are about 1/2 way down.

Do you know the size of the o ring?

@@patwhitnel8808 Sad no direction with these devices. One video shows a TH-camr lubricating the springs, one the plastic screw part and this guy on the "O" ring. ugggg Well, having said that, I also install without direction, but when it doesn't work, I need them bahahahhaha.
