You must listen to the Platters singing, "Smoke gets in your eyes". It's such a moving song about pretending not to weep.

Anything by the Platters is amazing. Real soul music. This was parents favorite group. They were married in 1959. This was the music of the area. I think of my parents anytime I hear the platters❤️

This is another fabulous group from the 50's-60's. This was the time of classy romantic heartfelt songs. Sadly they don't make music like this anymore. They had so many great hits such as "Enchanted", "(You've Got) The Magic Touch", "My Prayer", "Twilight Time", "Harbor Lights", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "The Great Pretender" etc.

Tony Williams - one of the most gorgeous voices ever. If you want to hear the voice of their "girl singer" Zola Taylor, I'd suggest He's Mine - it's one of my favourites of theirs... or Roll With Me Henry, it's really cute & fun.

The Platters one of the best band from the 1950s. So many timeless and good songs.
Suggestion some other songs by the Platters. Twilight Time, Smoke gets in your eyes,
and The great pretender. Thanks for a great reaction video by the Platters.👍

I feel The Platters were the best (if not Top 3) group of that time. They still exist and tour under the name with new people! My favorite is "My Prayer." If you like Tony William's voice, he really showcases it in that song! "The Great Pretender" and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" are other classics. Another song that I happen to like and not sure if it's popular is "It's Raining Outside." Glad to see you reacting again! Really enjoy your channel! Also, please react to another John Denver song! Let me know which song you want me to suggest!

Tony had a one-of-a-kind super voice.
The woman was Zola Taylor (1938-2007)
Some of her songs that I like are :
    Who wouldn't love you
    Love me, or leave me
    My old flame
Until the real thing comes along
    My heart belongs to daddy
    He's mine
    Someone to watch over me

This is the kind of music you hear on Happy Days and American Graffiti. I barely remember the late 50s, being around 5, then. I do remember them as special times. And romantic. Maybe not for me, but I was able to absorb the mood of the time.

Judee Sill is an early 70s artist you might want to know about. Her song “The Kiss” is a masterpiece. Sadly, Judee died young but she had a beautiful soul and left behind two albums worth of gorgeous musical gems. Judee Sill singing “The Kiss” on BBC is here on TH-cam.
