This was the first tune I heard the Syd Lawrence Orchestra play so many decades ago. I was hooked on the sound fr that day, loved it then and love it today!
Fantastic big band. I think that's Mike Lovett on solo trumpet, and a former RAF Squadronaires big band soloist in the trombone section. There are few if any big bands of this calibre. to be found anywhere in North America.
Brilliant trombones, come to that brilliant everything really. Super skyliner! Really enjoyed that. Still sounds fresh and punchy after all these years. Good music and great playing never dates!
Had a meeting with some of the band that were playing in Howard Davis Park jeresy C I because the fella that lived on the ground floor flat below me in Jersey C I he was the origInal drummer of the band started in Archifield Airdrome Brisbane by five RN fleet air arm sailors ,they called the band THE SEA ROCKETS.
Now that’s how a trombone section should sound!
Outstanding.... Syd lawrence... This tune is my favorite
Fantastic band led by a fantastic trombonist!
