FSM President Panuelo Supports Okeanos Vaka Motus

Okeanos is proud to support Federated States of Micronesia H.E. David W. Panuelo Office of the President, Federated States of Micronesia
with his progressive vision to empower Micronesian people through traditional voyaging and sustainable sea transportation.
"As indigenous people who revive our way of life I think we need to show how we can revive this traditional way of transportation," says President Panuelo.
President Panuelo sees VITAL FSM PETROCORP coconut biofuel initiative as in perfect alingment with Okeanos Vaka Motus canoes that can use local coconut biofuel in their engines.
President Panuelo hopes to establish a traditionally-based, fossil fuel-free bus route using the Okeanos vakas to provide regular, safe and reliable transportation to outer island communities. There are currently three Okeanos vakas operating in FSM (Okeanos Pohnpei, OkeanosAmbassador, & Okeanos Waa'qab) and President Panuelo has expressed pride in the crew's professionalism.
