This Kona is like Ioniq 5
That’s because it’s just an ionic suv imo, not sure why the kept the Kona name on this.
@@RISCGames the name ioniq is only for cars using the E-GMP platform, exclusive for hyundai and kia electric only cars. This kona has a gasoline version meaning it is not using E-GMP platfrom and is not suitable to be called as an ioniq. the same applies for kia's EV series

After my wife talked me out of the IONIC 5, because its too grand, tooo nice, too big, we will definitely be test driving one of these if we are allowed to, here in Australia.

I like the design, im probably going to get one once it arrives in the united states.
I love the front fascia. Interior screen is a bit much for me. I just wish it was the same size as the first gen Kona. Anyway, very cool. Hope it does great. I'm a new Hyundai fan, as I'm loving my 2022 Venue.
But why is the charging port at the front though rather than the typical reared side?
Is it because only center placement available is in the front remaining?
One small useful change is reduce the length of console, reduce the intrusion for the middle rear passenger.
These cars look good... amazingly good...

A real futuristic and practical design, impressive. A pretty sufficient enough boot space. Although, the headlamps and taillamps are too much on the edge which are damage prone in a sudden crash or a close encounter with the surroundings.

i am not sure why the car industry still doesn't accept the fact that Hyundai is now legitimate to become a "Luxury" segment in the car industry instead of just Premium
I can name a few Luxury brands model that are still far below the standard of Hyundai quality.
Well it depends what trim level you get. A base trim Hyundai is not luxury level. A calligraphy trim or other top level trim? Yeah maybe.

It is attractive.. I would give it that. But material quality (interior) is a big thing for me, and I noticed that was not mentioned. And as I'm on that topic, I always wondered if it is that soft touch plastics are that expensive which why they are sometimes scarce or nonexistent? 🤔
Hyundai and Kia have the best designs these days, far better than the Japanese brands.

2nd generation? I thought this was 3rd generation. I suppose the facelift / update didn’t count as 2nd gen?
Cool thing about Hyundai is that their mid cycle refresh facelifts look like a generational shift.

The kona we have now is about 21k I believe so I’d expect this one to be 22k or so
expecting the EV top spec to be 73k AUD, here in Australia, the NERO is 77k AUD, but its got features that are unnecessary imo.
No all wheel drive is a deal breaker. Climate change in Canada means more snow every year !

Korean cars doing big things taking over japanese cars in design exterior and interior. Korean cars have come a long long way I still remember the hyundai excel back in the 90's and how bad they were. Now Korean cars have beautiful european design, high tech and their interiors are above japanese cars imo. Japanese cars look so dated compared to Korean cars now, especially their interiors. Just compare a new elantra, kia seltos, kia sportage interior, any genesis range car to a Toyota, Subaru, mitsubishi or honda interior. Koreans are taking over! lets go!

What I see is a car that was a fantastic value now be turned into an unnecessarily expensive vehicle. I was going to get this for my daughter, sweet 16 present in December. Hopefully the current models are still around then.
Get a used one. Also, this upgrade to the Kona is similar to what they did to the niro, and while they were more expensive than the previous generation, not by that much.

Electric? Twice the price of a regular car when you look at total cost of ownership and to add on top of that the resale value drops twice as fast, youd have to be crazy to buy an electric car, no thanks.

The v2l feature isn't special, the fact hyundai didn't have it on the hold kona was actually shocking given its outrageous 40k price tag when mg had EVs for under 30k, with v2l, with 360 cameras, and all the other features, 3 years ago. The new kona is what the current kona shoild have been.
