I watched another video of this girl on her first long trip driving a big rig full of barley to sunburst USA. Isn't she just living the best life. I admire your work young lady and the way you work is insane. I will sub and subscribe for you and I wish you well and your family too. They must be so proud . My son bought a farm and is trying to learn how to make a living at it. It's a slow transition from his usual work but he wants that life for his family. Love and peace to the world.

Good afternoon Kate. Thank you and your loving family for feeding us. We have bumper crops at our family farm. We are harvesting sweet corn, wax beans, pickling cucumbers , beets ,onions, peas and will be starting squash , peppers tomatoes soon. Sorry hear about your families low yields but better than nothing . My dad always says there is next year. As farmers we have to be very optimistic. On the farm the rye has been mulched and the red clover that is under seeded is coming through. Again a bumper crop. This rotation really helps build up the nitrogen and organic matter in the soil. Bringing small straw bales in tonight from my neighbor's fields. People from the city ( Toronto) buy it a lot for their pets and gardens. Just a thought what's your fields organic matter level? If it is low, to bring it up help with drought . Praying for you and loving family . God bless

Have you thought of making a bigger tote bag capable of carrying groceries, a lot of people bring their own totes and the grocery stores even sell them. It would really fit in.

This is a off year. Not enough moisture in Montana but Kentucky has has floods. Death Valley had tourists trapped. I hope and pray that the 2023 agriculture year gets back to normal very soon.

Yes, we have been farming since 1912 and the one thing that is taught to all generations is that there will be very bad years in between the good ones! That is why we have no debt or fancy new equipment. We have to save in the good years to get through the bad years.

Kate, this was an excellent video. You gave us more information and details about your combine and the wheat harvest. I want to tear up, when I think about your drought and how much it is costing your family farming operation (especially) this year with the price of fuel and fertilizer. Thank you for explaining to us, why you started videoing and sharing your family farm. The one good thing today, we have TH-cam etc. It's a great tool for helping to educate people where our food really does come from and not just from the warehouse in the back of the store. My family, raised our own beef cattle, had pig's, laying hens and raised turkey's. We had our own slaughter house and today it would be known as a country butcher shop. About 70% of the business was our beef, pig's, fresh eggs and the turkey's were sold fresh for the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year). I can tell you from personal experience, even in the '60's and '70's growing up. Many people had no idea where their food came from. Truth, I believe it has only gotten worse. Unluckily, school's do very little to educate students, as to where their food comes from. Kate keep doing exactly what you are doing, to help educate people. They need to know about the family farming operation and how their food gets from the farm to their grocery store. I will keep praying for you and your family. Hopefully the Winter of 2022-23 will be an excellent time for your part of Montana to receive a good snow fall. As you acknowledged, the drought is in many parts of the world. May God bless you and your family. Kate, I wish I could do more to help your family. Unluckily, I became disabled 18 year's ago this month. I was a career firefighter/paramedic. But, I am not disabled from my career. The doctor's were amazed I was able to do my job and not be in extreme pain. To give you an idea of my level of pain. Ask a doctor or nurse about a Nerve Induction Test. Adding this part, I send the equipment off the scale for 4.9 second's. And it still continues to slowly drop to zero. Please don't feel sad and/or sorry for me. There is a much Higher reason why I am disabled. Now I get to work for God full-time. This adds to why, I bless you and your family. Plus, will continue to pray for your area to receive it's much needed rain fall amount and slightly more, till you are caught up on your water table level. May God bless you and your family.

Yes, we have been farming since 1912 and the one thing that is taught to all generations is that there will be very bad years in between the good ones! That is why we have no debt or fancy new equipment. We have to save in the good years to get through the bad years.

No radio? Oh you poor thing. In my day we walked five miles to school up hill both ways Hand signals were fine and cabs were the stuff of dreams. Our IH 1256 had a new cab but no air conditioning.

Kate, this was an excellent video. You gave us more information and details about your combine and the wheat harvest.
I want to tear up, when I think about your drought and how much it is costing your family farming operation (especially) this year with the price of fuel and fertilizer.
Thank you for explaining to us, why you started videoing and sharing your family farm. The one good thing today, we have TH-cam etc. It's a great tool for helping to educate people where our food really does come from and not just from the warehouse in the back of the store.
My family, raised our own beef cattle, had pig's, laying hens and raised turkey's. We had our own slaughter house and today it would be known as a country butcher shop. About 70% of the business was our beef, pig's, fresh eggs and the turkey's were sold fresh for the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year).
I can tell you from personal experience, even in the '60's and '70's growing up. Many people had no idea where their food came from. Truth, I believe it has only gotten worse. Unluckily, school's do very little to educate students, as to where their food comes from.
Kate keep doing exactly what you are doing, to help educate people. They need to know about the family farming operation and how their food gets from the farm to their grocery store.
I will keep praying for you and your family. Hopefully the Winter of 2022-23 will be an excellent time for your part of Montana to receive a good snow fall. As you acknowledged, the drought is in many parts of the world.

Unluckily, I became disabled 18 year's ago this month. I was a career firefighter/paramedic. But, I am not disabled from my career. The doctor's were amazed I was able to do my job and not be in extreme pain. To give you an idea of my level of pain. Ask a doctor or nurse about a Nerve Induction Test. Adding this part, I send the equipment off the scale for 4.9 second's. And it still continues to slowly drop to zero. Please don't feel sad and/or sorry for me. There is a much Higher reason why I am disabled. Now I get to work for God full-time.
This adds to why, I bless you and your family. Plus, will continue to pray for your area to receive it's much needed rain fall amount and slightly more, till you are caught up on your water table level.
