Lost this recipe, so glad I got it back. This was a staple for holiday potlucks at my job years ago. Easy, but tastes fancy.thank you so much. Grandma from Buffalo, USA
I lost this recipe so I am so happy to have found it again. I use crushed drained pineapple; it has a creamier consistency and I put the cream cheese and the whipped cream together. Glad to have this back in my recipes again.
@@TimM-wk1zx I guess I am just that stupid which is exactly what you are saying. Perhaps you might consider getting a life instead of trolling comments on youtube.
My mom’s version used drained crush pineapple and 1 large box of lemon jello with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar added to hot jello mixture. NOTE: add 1/2 cup of boiling water not 1 full cup. Less water helps mixture set up easier/better. Let cool completely then blend with softened cream cheese, slowly add together to combine. Her recipe used 1-chilled can of Milnot to whip. Once it is whipped fold in all ingredients to the whipped Milnot and after it comes together and layered pretty much like the video demonstrated, refrigerate 3-4 hours allowing the jello to set. We used cinnamon graham crackers for the base and top. Once set up grab a spoon and run to a closet or behind a locked door and eat the whole thing in one setting without sharing. So good , light and refreshing.
I don’t have a private closet so I’m to have to use the car and drive around the block. 😁. Your recipe sounds so much easier! I took screenshots and am going to try it out. It looks so good!
@@einfachundschnell I hope this helps. 1.Drain crushed pineapple (thoroughly). 2.Add 1/2cup of boiling water to one large box of lemon jello. 3. Add granulated sugar to jello mix and let cool completely. 4. Whip softened cream cheese (so it will be blend-able to other ingredients). 5. Add drained crushed pineapple to cream cheese until well combined. 6. Slowly add cooled jello mixture to cream cheese mixture until well combined. 7. Whip chilled Milnot to whip cream consistency then fold into cream cheese mixture making one completely combined mixture. 8. Pour/spoon contents on top of cinnamon sugared with melted butter graham cracker formed crust bottom. 9. Sprinkle desired amount of graham cracker mixture on top for extra flavor and decoration. (Don’t leave this part out either). These are the steps I would use. It is a little different from the video version but it is not my video. I hope I explained better where our recipes differ and didn’t make it confusing. Hope you enjoy if you try it.
yep , soooo much easier to melt butter in microwave for 30 seconds , always use 1/2 amount of butter to the biscuit crumb base , eg., 300 grams of digestive biscuits to 150 grams of butter , perfect amount , foolproof method , don't be tempted to use margarine , tastes horrible , MUST be butter, hugs
@user-yw9xg3sl1c then just melt your butter in a saucepan and add the biscuit crumbs , another nice topping is whisking a carton of double cream / heavy , a tin of condensed milk and the juice and zest / rind of a lemon or lime , makes a great cheesecake , once you add the lemon / lime juice it thickens almost immediately , easy dessert , tastes yum
Don't listen to the people telling you it is too slow. They could easily speed up the video and stop whining but I guess it's easier to complain about it than to actually do something about it.
When it gets closer to spring right now, we are in temperatures in the low teens, I would like to try this, but with fresh pineapple and maybe even put some toasted almonds or walnuts in the cookie crumbs just a different variation that took a while thank you
Sounds great & I will definitely try it.We all do the best we can & I don't see the need to criticize & complain! Life is too short to waste valuable time when we aren't promised tomorrow.Lighten up & chill out. This is fun!!😅 8:26
I have tried this before by adding marshmallows to the cream cheese and whip cream mixture , cooling the dessert in the fridge and topping with roasted slivered almonds. Turns out good if you replace pineapple with canned orange slices.
We make that with chocolate wafers, instead of arrowroot cookies, and cool whip packages, according to the cool whip instructions, and pineapple chunks, cream cheese and butter.
I”ve made this for over 50 years. Your mix the the drained pineapple with whipped cheese. Whip the heavy cream longer. Fold in drained Fold in whipped cream to cheese and pineapple. Much better.
Make a custard sauce, cool, fold in a can of drained crushed pineapple, smooth it over cookie crumb base, top with a sprinkle of more crumbs, refrigerate, enjoy. Simple
Video is ok but can you specify the amounts of each ingredients and suggest cookie type to use. I thought this would be part of the video but its not..
Aren’t you supposed to put it in the fridge or freezer? Is it icing sugar? How large is the container? How long do you cool or freeze it? I hope crushed pineapple can be used instead of trying to crush it with a sieve.
She’s not really crushing the pineapple from what I could see, just gently pushing some of the excess juice out. 😊 If it were me I’d begin with the pineapple to let it drain on its own more. Maybe she likes them juicy - like little flavor bombs going off in your mouth when you are chewing a bite? 😊. The rest of your questions were all good ones. I’d like to add, it’s helpful to have the measurements in Imperial/Standard as well as metric because it’s confusing to some of us in the world who didn’t learn the Metric system & don’t have a lot of occasion to use it here in the US & a few other countries. Otherwise pretty good video & quick easy recipe that I think could be added to, or by using your own methods to come to about the same conclusion/taste.
In the “old days” before we had food processors we put the cookies in a paper bag and crushed them with a rolling pin. You crush them pretty well with that and if you don’t have a rolling pin use a heavy can of vegetables or juice.-Susan

Are you talking cool whip?
No….the entire recipe is only a couple ingredients….how did u lose it….its a simple recipe.
very slow video
