Here it is ladies and gentlemen. The character I ever saw Pally play. I was in 9th grade and had just finished the Ornstein and Smough play through. It was like episode 26 of the Daily Quest. Now here I am graduated from college still loving your content. Thanks for being there through all my struggles these past 8 or 9 years Pally! Keep it up!!!!

Such an underrated build that not one of the enemy members tried to destroy the mines before engaging.
My personal default/favorite Hammer build. That said certain enemy heroes were "built" to clear Hammer's mines. When ever those appear in their comp I abandon this build immediately.
That Falstad kill toward the end was so satisfying, lmao.
As a Hammer main I'm almost saddened that you are sharing my go to build to the world. It always felt like my little secret.

i main hammer. And mained her from beta. With how game shifted from AA focused fights and mana conservation to ability spamming - hammer is hard to play with randoms. Still absolute beast if you play with team that works around you. Sadly enough hammer is considered "artillery mage" type of hero, so you pretty much guaranteed to be matchmaked against chrome/kaelthas/keltuzad/azmodan/ li ming and etc.
But even that with lvl 1 talent Maelstorm Rounds you can still own pretty much every caster you laning against. People dont realize how strong AA hammer has even in tank mode. So you can Z to caster, pop maelstorm rounds and just fk him up. It wont work in teamfights, but while you laning it's an easy early kills
Mine build is great, it doesnt require you to sit in siege form, it nukes casters and deletes melee. But most importantly - it absolutely shreds forts. Full mine build + napalm strike and you melt forts and objectives like tychus melts tanks.

I don't play HotS anymore, haven't in years, but when I did play Sgt. Hammer was my favorite character always. I never saw this rework, but even when she was the least mobile, easiest to kill character in the game I still loved her and this looked fun as heck.
Yeah man, they ruined the champ with these changes. Fuck having health and unstoppable, i just want to have my damage back. Hammer is dealing 380 by level 20, for ducks sake, when she used to deal almost 600, if you got the right talents.
I know what you mean with the Hammer hate. I played with a Fenix the other day that was ulting the enemy Hammer basically on cooldown
A-Z with frequent stops at M... for Mercenaries.
That's the only build I ever play on her. I had this one game where I set up in a bush and put a ton of mines in there. An Illidan jumped on top of me. And let's just say he didn't exist after that.

Hammer is the coolest character concept in a MOBA in my opinion, a freaking siege tank in a game with wizards and warriors.
The only problem is she's so niche that she can be the bane of your existence or laughably bad depending on her enemy and the friendly team. And this is why I don't think she will change much, then again, Probius got a rework so maybe there is hope.

I remember the old Hammer, place that rocket in a straight line and watch the enemy team lose all hope.
That moment when you would fight so hard against it though and you just had an uphill battle the whole game. Some of those got to level 26 they went on so long

@@rekrn12345 It sure was fun, when you were the Hammer, but there was no counter play to it.
I mean, that isn't _entirely_ gone, it's just not as completely busted. You can still take the 20 upgrade and siege down mid by constantly blowing up the minions, it just takes longer to play out and you have to keep an eye on it to restart the cycle instead of setting it and forgetting it. Which can be very helpful since quite a few maps have little or no mercenary camps in the mid-lane.
After a day from hell this made me giggle in absolute delight, particularly when falstad got deleted. Cheers!

whenever I play hammer, my team loves fighting exactly just outside of my siege range, you gotta love it :)
Only thing I find worse then that is whenever I play Hammer during occasions when it is more beneficial for a Hammer & for the teams chances of winning for her to leave the group by herself do her sieging of structures. And while I do that the rest of the team needlessly for the situation at hand go out of their way to engage in 4v5 combat and whenever they inevitably lose they blame me.

55-9-1 now following your builds. This took a couple practice matches for me to get used to how much people tunnel vision on hammer and one match where the enemy team seemed almost intentionally designed to blow me up instantly: KT, Azmodan, and Tassadar all on the same team. Once I had a reasonable comp with me I was able to do well but this definitely seems like a character better in coordinated teams
i realize its probably late for you to start doing this, but it would have been cool to see your W/L breakdown by character like the one guy does for Pally's series. That said, you have a better record than Pally himself, so GG. lol

Finally pally I've been waiting years for you to notice the benefits of the napalm strike. As you have discovered it has amazing utility. It has good wave clear, it's has good old fashion constant damage, is great for zoning, good for covering retreats and last but not least provides Sgt Hammer with the ability to utilize poke damage.

Mind tanking heroes like butcher morales and hammer require a specific mindset to really excel. You have to know everyone on a-posing team is saving cds to nuke u. Soooo play around it and recognize is something I have to constantly tell myself to do

The problem with the Spider Mine build is it just feels like the antithesis of what I want Sgt Hammer to be - which is a huge gun with loads of damage.
I can see how it fits with the Siege/emplacement theme - but the Spider Mines are a *bike* thing and it just… doesn’t feel right.
It can be hi-larious when the enemy meet your mines - like Falstad did, and I can’t deny the macro PVE aspect of the build though! Just… more boom-boom?

I love Pally's controversial HotS builds. Like Force Wall Tassadar, or Gust Falstad. No-one used those talents except Pally... until they did !

A vulture rider character who specialises in taking camps and being super zooms.

I might be the 2% that plays her... in lvl103 on Hammer and play the mines often specially versus teams with characters like kel thuzad when you cant stand around much or a varian that dives you... mines with the armor reduction is so satisfying agains tanks 🥳🧡
No! No! I have been playing Hammer for years and I have been playing the spider bomb build for a looooonnggg time.. now everyone will do it. Haha jk more hammers is better. Thanks @Pally
I debated on commenting on your previous videos my sgt. Hammer build I used when I mained her, but decided to keep my mouth shut since I rarely played enough to get a high MMR. You made half of it anyway and the mine talents were quite amazing. I usually go advanced art. especially on that map for the larger splash, graduating range (the mines are probably an upgrade), Hyper cool (so you can move around more) and ultra capacitors (get a momma Morales and ultra capacitors. trust me, you need this in your life). The only two recommendations for if you play hammer again is to use lava strike more (you're not used to the low cooldown) and get used to moving slow and saving your thrusters for disengages, especially with tanks that move you around.
Come to think of it... compare to all the large characters in Heroes of the Storm, Stg Hammer is actually quite tiny. Because she is fighting inside a tank, not out of it...kinda? Well she is somewhat during siege-mode.

I just want to say that I don't even play this game but I have always loved watching you play it. I've even tried watching others play it and the actual E-Sports style games but I don't like it as much as watching your videos.
I don't think people are sleeping on the Q talent, as much as they play sgt hammer to siege up. Watching hammers in my QM games, they take hover mode, they don't leave siege, and the split push. Even if you told them Q was good, they wouldn't pick it because they don't want to play that way.
I used to play hammer without using siege mode. They crippled her racecar build so bad I still hit E to siege mode because I don't know what happened

Pally! The whole video I was screaming at you to click the lightwell lol! Kudos to that Anduin player as there was a lightwell down whenever someone got low.
Hammer is such a strange character, her selling point is staying in siege mode dealing high damage at range, but there are so many characters that punish you for standing still that her main strength turns into her biggest weakness. That being said, an unattended hammer will melt your base in no time. She honestly needs more talent and maybe even ability revamps for her main strength to be viable. Hover siege mode comes too little too late, you are either already losing or crushing your opponent. Maybe a talent that lets you remain is siege for a second or two when you activate thrusters. A quick reposition skill or talent would come a long way.
Mine build is always what I used to play years ago. This new multiple exploding mine talent just makes me want to play again.
With so much displacement and the strength of stitches rn I don't see hammers popularity changing anytime soon, she gets displaced so hard and it's so difficult to recover

Loved the mine spec, especially with melee heavy teams as the enemy. The bane of your mines is overwatch characters though, since most of them autoattack them and destroy them pretty fast if they use attack move.

Even speaking as someone who likes Hammer before and after her re-work... yeah sure it was fun if you were the Hammer, but it was always really oppressive to play against. Personally, I feel like maybe it would have been better to drastically reduce structure damage rather than remove it entirely, but you can still siege down a lane by killing the minions constantly - it's just not as set-it-and-forget-it as it used to be and takes more time - but it can still be really useful, especially since most mid-lane maps have little to no mercenary camps on them.

Sooo... does this mean Sgt Hammer can solo a boss? Three cooldowns of mines and the Z mines to boot, that equals 42 mine explosions.
No Bosses do too much Damage and Sgt Hammer is build squishy like a mage.
