    Same here in Colorado we don't have a Filipino store, only an Asian store and mostly they sell Korean and Thai products only few Philippines products.

    Had 20 minute layover in
    Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport before going to Fargo for my IT training in the HQ of a global MNC.
    MSP is too wide. As a petite Filipina, I remembered that I was dizzy running my best to reach the farthest gate. 😅 So surprised with some Filipinos greeting while I was running. 😮
    Had I known there were Filipino cuisines in Minnesota, I could have took a bus from Fargo instead of flying to New York over the weekend just to have a Filipino dish.
    My weight grew from usual 43kg to 50kg during my USA training. Too much american carbs. 😅😅 But I returned to 43kg anyways. 😅

    I wonder if California(West coast) will be a tad cheaper, because there are a bigger Filipino community in there, hence they probably import/buy in bigger bulks, and the Asian/Filipino supermarkets have more competition with each other. Nice video btw.

      That's true! Out here in the middle of nowhere, there's less options

      I live in Northern Cali and the prices here is not as bad. I say it would be about half the price in comparison to Minnesota depending on Filipino or other Asian markets you go to.

      You have to consider the rent, employee wage, taxes etc. you can’t compare prices they are two different countries

    • @williammaverick
      @williammaverick 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Mariter62 Filipinos have to stop getting triggered by comparisons. Even Tyler pointed this out. By comparing, one would see what needs to be improved, fixed or scaled down. Filipinos don't like getting compared to its asean neighbors and see constructive criticism as a negative. Manila & Toronto both have Jollibee. I will compare them as much as I want. I am fully aware of the points you raised and I merely mentioned the stark difference between the two countries in Jollibee pricing. At the end of the day you pay 3x more in Canada.

    Comments:
    1) Cost of ALL Asian goods tend to be cheaper in Southern California and Las Vegas than the the Midwest. First, the cost of shipping is less. Also, west coast vendors can purchase in very high volumes as they move a whole lot of product.
    2) I generally find it better to buy Filipino products in large Asian supermarkets like T&T or 99 Ranch or even Super H-Mart than in smaller markets or Seafood City.

    My regular snacks: Growers Garlic Peanuts, Sky Flakes Saltines Crackers, Joe Bawang Garlic corn, and Pandesal. They are so expensive here in the States (California) but can't complain.

    It's the cost of freight and taxes that are added on to it that makes it more expensive. Not much you can do about it.
