Joey Sciammas no, you use allen because they are lower profile and require a much smaller hole to install. In addition, rounded head allen keys allow for angled installation of bolts.
also ... after having the wing off, i think i like it wingless. the trunk operates a lot easier, and one of the things i love about this car is that it doesn't have excessive "fast" but functionless features. it just drives like a champ. and most of us aren't cornering at 80mph on the street, or however fast you need to be going for the downforce to have an effect. pretty sure it's faster than 35mph though. if you're tracking it, which you probably are, then sure. good work figuring it out. you should be glad you didn't just ask the shop. they probably would have jacked it up too. lol.
So true...I wouldn't say I've been against wings on a street car, but I completely agree that 99.99% they have no function on a street car...if anything, they probably hurt MPG, lol. Yeah, I do try to track this car as much as possible, so hopefully it has a little function, but even then, I'm not a good enough driver to make use of it, lol.
You have to tape the bottom side of the spoiler (or the body) because the downforce will eventually wear the paint out. Had the 4pcs LTW wing on mine and it did that to my body.
Yo! Thanks for the heads up! Not sure if I filmed it but I did use some 3M double sided tape but it wasn't fitted. I was actually thinking about taking the wing off and redoing the "gasket" that's supposed to be between the trunk and the wing.
man this happens so often! if you want anything done well you have to do it yourself. i had a dealer swap the front markers for me, i thought it would be a no-brainer, but they used an aftermarket part that didn't fit the little insert slots and they just broke them off, and jammed the lights in there. so i learned about it when the front marker was dangling out. now they are zip-tied in, and it took a whole afternoon to sort out.
Omg...that's so annoying, lol! Those are the type of little issues that bug the heck outta me. Could have easily been avoided...now it turns into an actual PITA, lol!

Dude… That's gotta suck! Was there no way to remount the thread inserts? You know every follower you have is going to ask why you didn't take it back to the paint shop. Respect for even committing to drill the holes in your car though!
Mannn...it did suck, lol! So when I picked the spoiler up I pointed out a spot that was fish eyed (not sure if that's the term, it almost looks like a bubble) and they kind of gave me a look like...yeah, so? After that they charged me 2 hours of labor they shouldn't have (I was originally going to have them mount it but decided against it). I called twice, they ended up refunding the 2 hours of labor after my second call even though it should have never been on the bill. After all of that, I'll be honest, I kind of chalked it up to, "lesson learned"...I won't be using them or recommending them to anyone. With that being said, I ended up with a dremel and a tap & die kit due to this project because I had to re-thread the inserts, lol.
Allen bolts, not hex bolts!!! No washers either.
After the time I had mounting this thing...that ship has set sail, lol.

tldr: don't bastardize your car for a poorly constructed wing. fix the wing, then install. sorry to hear you had to go thru this.
