- A few months, ProtonJon decided to do a race of Battletoads will some fellow LPers. Here is a condensed version of the entire race. I hope you enjoy!

What are save-states?

That's what Battletoads does to you.
And meanwhile, Jon, who is usually known for being the opposite (thanks to Kaizo and other legendarily difficult ROMhacks) was relatively calm and collected throughout the entire course of the game, even when he was having a difficult time beating some of the levels.

I simply cannot fathom how this game could transform Jake from his normal, calm attitude, into a raging monster.
Snakes. That's how.
This game could turn anybody into a raging monster. It's probably the most difficult, functional game ever created. Not even joking. There's a reason they used infinite lives for their playthrough. All told, I think they lost almost 1,000 lives combined.

I love how half the time Tim starts laughing after someone else cusses or screams.

Poor Jeenius. His fucks were slowly getter louder and more frequent. Then he just lost it at that point.
Well,it's Battletoads. They took a couple hundred lives each to finish the game totaling probably well over 2000 lives.
At 1:12, what is it that Pcull4444 said that made SuperJeenius say "Shut the fuck up?" I didn't quite understand it.
It's so weird to see Jake yelling and screaming in this. I'm so glad I never played this game. It looks impossible even with the infinite lives.
dracosfairmaiden I can do everything with relative ease until the last part of the Turbo Tunnel. I keep falling through the god damn floor because of the stupid ground collision zone. I WILL beat that damn tunnel, I swear it...
I want to see TRG to do this now. I know Jon and Tim did this but how well would chugga do?

I know this comment is 6 years old, but it’s stage 1 of the Battletoads Arcade game.
I really love the stage 1, stage 5, and ending themes of that game.

I love how Tim cracks up every time SuperJeenius starts raging. XD Tim's ability to have fun even in what would be infuriating situations is just one of the things that makes him my favorite LP'er. Also, I was dying when you slowed down Tim's laugh, and at the screams of failure. Tim's Green Rupee scream and Jon's Don't Eat The Mushroom freakout. XD
Notice that most of the cursing was from Jake and screaming was from Patrick.
No, SuperJeenius even mentioned in another video how ashamed he was for being so enraged during the race. I don't blame him, but it's definitely something he doesn't usually do.

This was my first Superjeenius series. I thought he was the most aggressive, angry son of a bitch on the internet. Then I subscribed to him. Literally the day of the first Persona video. He was so shockingly calm, considerate of the audience, and didn't ever do anything even close to resembling the him portrayed here. the contrast made him my favorite LPer immediately. Then I found the DK Country Returns with JoshJepson, and rediscovered this one. It's amazing how multiplayer changes them.

This video is mostly "Want to watch a compilation where Proton John dies at Clinger Winger?" because he was there for 90% of the game.

1:28 - Uh, SJ, you might wanna get your hearing checked if you can't tell the difference between "Go down" and "Damn it". Word of advice.
I still can't believe Jon spent half of the race on Clinger Winger. Nearly 1 and a half hours. That's insane. Meanwhile i beat it in 15 minutes with pause cheese.
Also I love how nearly all of the ear-piercing screeches were SuperJeenus or Pcull.
Is it just me, or does Jake swear more than the rest of them in the section on violent curses?

I love the way that Tim says, "Dude" at 11:42 & 11:44. I have no idea why.
The random slowdowns are annoying, but the race was funny as all hell.

he may not get as angry as he did in the race but you should watch his LP of FF6 at the auction house. that sh*t was funny as hell.
Yeah, I realized the same thing. When I saw the Battletoads race, SuperJeenius just seemed like the guy who frequently rages, but after some months, I actually went to Jake's channel, and saw that he wasn't as nearly as angry as how he was here. Apparently, that's just what Battletoads does to people, man.
No mention of telling SuperJeenius how to get past the last snake room? "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS *AN HOUR AGO?!?!*" I love that one XD

I think this how a good portion of his fans found him XD just because when I watched this I'm like "That SuperJeenius guy is really angry, angrier than Jon even!" but I watched something current of his at the time and found he's much calmer XD
You are correct. He didn't really have any good screams during the race, so I just improvised.

No, the only one that is from battletoads was Nintendocaprisun's his montage intro music was from the arcade version of battletoads, while I'm not sure what Pcull's is, Superjeenuis is from Mario Galaxy 2 while Protonjon is from Super mario world to answer your question.
Oh, I know. He's my favorite LPer by far, but the fact that he's usually so calm and mellow with everything makes the rages all the more enjoyable. A perfect example is the episode of LttP with the Wallmaster fiasco. The remainder of the LP is back to normal, as if nothing ever happened.
"What do you think they are? Christians?" This made me laugh so hard first time I heard it, and it still does.

Original or Uprising?
I don't think Uprising was out when this race was done. They recorded it late 2011, and uploaded in January of 2012. Kid Icarus Uprising came out in the US in March of 2012.
