Challenge ACCEPTED! Watermelon Bloom

This week, I needed a boost, a challenge, something to break me out of routine. I posted a request for people in the Sheleeart private facebook group to comment a palette they'd like to see in a bloom. The first person to post, Mary Alice, posted a very intriguing and unique palette with oranges, reds and a deep olive green. I was looking for something outside of my comfort zone to open up my imagination. It had been a long couple weeks, a long morning at work, I wasn't sleeping well and I felt myself getting mentally lazy. This palette changed everything! Having done the bloom, I can see all the ways I could have made different choices or generally done different things however I am pleased with how I did it. I had one comment, from August Acrylic Art, that it had poinsettia vibes. I agree. Then another commentor thought it felt watermelon summery. That's the winner! I didn't see either comparison until it was pointed out. That tells you what stress, illness and lack of sleep does to your creativity! Creating this bloom, taking on this challenge, helped to widen my perspective. It's a lesson we all can learn something from!
I used my usual pillow, PPG MultiPro from Home Depot.
My cell activator is Amsterdam pearl yellow and Australian floetrol, 1 to 3 ratio
My bloom colors are as follows: Amsterdam azo yellow/napthal red custom mix, straight napthal red, Grumbacher process magenta/Golden fluid magenta, This Little Piggy Horizon pigment, Golden heavy body sap green with a couple drops of fluid carbon black and yellow ochre. I mix my bloom paints 1 part paint, 1 part minwax polycrylic gloss to 3 parts Glidden Premium untinted base 3.
