Deborah, It takes me several minutes to recover from the shock and awe from listening to an Angelina performance. That sweet little angel takes my breath away and I must say she has brought me to tears on a few occasions. Angelina brings forth smiles of happiness and I never grow weary from the experience.

When Angelina is so approached to her sources of inspiration, she leaves me absolutely astonished ... how does a little girl (in this case at 8 years old) be so incredibly similar to an exceptional singer that she can also convey emotion and charm in equal measure. She is simply fantastic, when she closes her eyes she really seems to be in contact with Dinah.
Some artists have the ability to make this connection when they sing, and Angelina's voice and expression does exactly that. And to be able to sing with a jazz great..at 8!
Angelina will always have her roots in jazz and Soul. I really hope that she will pave the way for soon forgotten songs. That is a part of her mission!

I put my nose right next to the tv to listen and then I figured out that it was Dinah Washington singing. But, I swear, I thought it was Angelina!!!!! And what happens next? I have to say the double up comparisons with the originals leave me absolutely cold. If you wish to play one after the other, fine. Ever since the one with Adelle (which is horrible) I have been dreading this "trend". Line by line comparisons with a 60 year old recording are patently unfair and demeaning to each artist.
